Destination X star reveals what happens when you're kicked off the bus - 'It's jarring'
Destination X contestant James has revealed what it's like behind-the-scenes on the BBC One show, sharing what happens when they're booted off the bus and kicked off the show. James became one of the latest contestants to leave the series when he lost to returning contestant Ashvin in a challenge.
Having been dumped in Munich, Germany in episode three, Destination X star James revealed to The Mirror that contestants are immediately checked over after leaving the show. "So as soon as the bus drives off without you, you get your phone back and everything back," he said.
"You're taken out and you're checked over by welfare and the psychological team. Then you basically go home - that's it. Literally, the minute you get off the bus, that's it apart from the legal elements you have to do." It comes after Destination X fans spot huge hint that axed players would return in twist.

James added that contestants are immediately taken home by producers. "There's no getting to travel around for a bit. You go straight home and you're back into the normal world. It can be quite jarring to readjust to it because you've gone through this unbelievable experience and you've seen - or potentially not seen - some amazing things and then you're back to the same four walls that you cook dinner in every night so it is a bit weird."
James also revealed that he "broke down crying" after becoming the latest star to be eliminated from the show in unaired scenes. He said: "My saddest day is going to be leaving. I don't know whether they use the footage or not but honestly I absolutely broke down crying my eyes out.
"I'm quite a tough person and it's quite a lot to get me to show my emotions. That just ripped me to pieces. You don't have your phone, you don't have any means of what you would class as a normal life comfort so you are constantly living in this sense of unknown."
Tonight's episode will see the remaining contestants try to guess where their new location is - although some fans are becoming frustrated with their lack of geography knowledge. "Getting annoyed with #DestinationX - the lack of knowledge is appalling!" one viewer wrote on X.
Another said: "I assume it's deliberate in this show that they picked contestants who know absolutely nothing about European languages or Geography, but it's still very frustrating to watch."

The Russian dancer was previously married to fellow Strictly pro Neil Jones for six years until 2019, and while he has moved on and had daughter Havana with fiancee Chyna Mills, he and Katya are still close. We lived a life together... it was me and him against the world, chasing our dreams. "We were the only people there for each other so of course there is a much more profound connection there. Just hours before Princess Andre's new reality TV show with ITV2 airs, Katie has unveieled her new taut look after more surgery. The mum has been accused of trying to upstage her daughter Princess Andre has revealed she won't be following in her mum's footsteps when it comes to plastic surgery. The daughter of Katie Price and Peter Andre has been busy carving out her own career as an influencer and TV star, with her biggest project yet launching in just a few hours. The 18-year-old's new reality TV series - The Princess Diaries - airs on ITV2 tonight in a huge milestone, but the build-up to her new show has been somewhat overshadowed by an alleged "feud" with mum Katie. It comes as Katie has been accused of 'last act of desperation' hours before Princess' series. Katie has made a number of barbs in the days leading up to Princess' new series, including claims she was banned from her daughter's 18th birthday party and that her former management team – who look after ex-husband Peter Andre and Princess – did not want her on the show as they considered her "trash". But insiders have hit back against the mum-of-five's version of events, telling The Mirror that Princess had arranged to see her mum on the morning of her birthday in June in London – but Katie failed to appear. A source said: "It was all in the diary but then Katie claimed she couldn't make it as she was abroad. It was disappointing. "For Katie to then say she was banned from the afternoon's filmed party when she was the no-show in the morning is just beyond belief." And today, Katie has been accused of trying to upstage her teen daughter after unveiling her taut new face following more surgery. Celebrity SAS star needs surgery after ‘ripping' vulva in one of show's worst injuries
This series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Win s features one of the most excruciating – and arguably worst ever – injuries in the show's history, with X Factor star Lucy Spraggan revealing she tore her vulva. Singer Lucy opened up about the agonising injury ahead of the programme's continuation this weekend, explaining that she was left bleeding with a rip so severe that she is undergoing reconstructive surgery. The 34-year-old's wound was caused by a harness during a stunt and due to the level of bleeding and intensity of the show, she recalled her 'dignity had gone' when the doctor came over to inspect her. 'I ripped my labia – it was bad,' she told The Sun. 'That's not a common injury. Actually, genuinely, that's never been the same, so much so I'm having some surgery soon to correct it.' Revealing she didn't 'really know even what happened' to cause the tear, Lucy's best guess is simply that the harness 'was tight'. 'I was like: 'This feels really bad. Surely there can't be anything.' And I looked and there was a tear, there was lots of blood and the doctor came over and I turned around because at that point you literally don't care about anything. Dignity has gone,' she added. She also explained that the medic initially thought it was her leg that was bleeding before she corrected them. Horrific as that is, it's also not the only injury the star suffered during filming for the series as she also almost knocked a tooth out, fainted and landed face-first in the sea after attempting to jump from a helicopter into a boat. This left her with a black eye for her wedding day in June 2024 and forced her to have filler from under her eye dissolved after she 'hit the sea so hard my filler migrated to the side of my face'. Previous gruesome injuries from across the show's series include Geordie Shore star Marnie Simpson's breast implant becoming infected, Strictly Come Dancing star Pete Wicks knocked himself unconscious and breaking ribs and former soap star Jennifer Ellison puncturing her spleen. Meanwhile Jake Quickenden was rushed into emergency surgery after tendons in his shoulder were 'ripped off the bone' and politician Matt Hancock infamously suffered from trench foot. The 2025 edition of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins kicked off in dramatic style this month, with two participants quitting during the opening episode. The famous faces were pushed straight into action as they were forced to plunge 26ft into the water and dash towards a speedboat to pick them up. This proved S Club star Hannah Spearritt 's undoing as, looking visibly ill ahead of the second task, she handed in her armband to the directing staff with the words: 'I'm done, I'm sorry, I've reached a point.' Following hot on her heels was TV dancer Louie Spence, for whom the second task – to rescue three hostages from a building before blowing it up with a grenade – pushed him a step too far and he quit. More Trending In the second episode, Love Island contestants Tasha Ghouri and Chloe Burrows, also voluntarily withdrew. Remaining participants being guided through gruelling challenges by the elite team of ex-Special Forces soldiers, Chief Instructor Billy Billingham and his team of Directing Staff (DS) – Foxy (Jason Fox), Rudy Reyes and Chris Oliver – include Traitors winner Harry Clark, Rebecca Loos, Drag Race UK star Bimini Bon-Boulash, former Love Islander Adam Collard and former footballer Troy Deeney.
