His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE and Chairman of the Presidential Court, has chaired the meeting of the Ministerial Development Council at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi.
The Council reviewed several key reports and updates on the progress of government programmes and initiatives.
The meeting's agenda included discussions on proposed regulatory decisions related to donation policies, the tax system, and government services.
The Council also reviewed updates on the implementation of policies and programmes related to national housing, education, labour market, food safety, climate change and environment, as well as the achievements of Make it in the Emirates.
Ministries' and federal entities' reports on advancing the efficiency of the federal government sector were also reviewed.
In governmental work affairs, the Council reviewed recommendations from the Federal National Council on bolstering the performance of public sector employees, and strengthening the role of government media channels in protecting the national identity.
The meetings also discussed the Federal National Council's requests regarding the government's efforts to improve the quality of life for People of Determination and ensure their inclusion in both education and the labour market.

In her speech, Metsola praised the UAE's leadership in promoting peace and coexistence, calling the visit a turning point in EU-UAE relations. "I stand before you today representing 450 million European citizens, carrying a message of hope and optimism that this visit will mark a new beginning for strengthening our bilateral ties and expanding the horizons of partnership between the European Parliament and the UAE through constructive dialogue and cooperation," she said. The President of the European Parliament highlighted strong UAE-EU trade ties, valued at €328 billion (AED 1.39 trillion), and emphasised tourism, education and culture as key pillars of future cooperation. Sheikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of Ajman Executive Council, presided over the Council's meeting held on Monday, at the Government Agencies Complex at the Emiri Diwan. During the meeting, the Council approved the launch of the "Our Balanced Summer" initiative, a forward-looking programme that reflects the government's commitment to employee well-being and quality of life during the summer months, in alignment with the Year of Community. The initiative introduces a 100% remote work system every Friday, effective from July 1 to Aug.22, 2025, alongside a reduction in working hours from Monday to Thursday, set from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm, instead of the usual 8-hour day. These measures aim to foster work-life balance while ensuring the seamless delivery of essential government services through flexible internal structures across government entities. The initiative is designed to promote institutional efficiency, adapt to the summer climate, and maintain high-quality public service delivery through optimized organizational workflows. Sheikh Ammar affirmed that the Ajman Government, under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, places great importance on cultivating a dynamic and supportive work environment that meets the professional and personal needs of employees. He noted that the stability of employees and their families is a cornerstone of the emirate's development journey, emphasizing that human well-being is a central priority, essential for institutional excellence and the advancement of government performance. Sheikh Ammar added, 'The 'Our Balanced Summer' initiative also reflects our commitment to environmental sustainability by reducing daily transportation emissions, in support of Ajman Vision 2030, which aspires to build a balanced, resilient, and sustainable society.' The Human Resources Department, in coordination with the General Secretariat of the Executive Council, will oversee the initiative's rollout, develop relevant operational models, and present an assessment report by the end of September 2025 to evaluate its impact on institutional performance and employee and community satisfaction. This initiative embodies Ajman Government's ongoing efforts to foster a flexible, inclusive, and motivating work culture that enhances productivity and promotes happiness across the public sector. The Council, in the presence of Sheikh Ahmed Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Ruler's Representative for Administrative and Financial Affairs and Vice Chairman of the Executive Council; Sheikh Abdulaziz Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Tourism Development Department; Sheikh Rashid Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Municipality and Planning Department; and other Council members, reviewed the outcomes of the recent official visit to Chongqing Municipality in China, led by Sheikh Ammar. The Council recommended continued engagement with Chinese counterparts by convening coordination meetings at least once every quarter throughout 2025, in addition to activating academic exchange programs. Further recommendations emphasised attracting Chinese investments to Ajman, particularly in high-impact sectors such as technology and artificial intelligence, light manufacturing and clean technologies, logistics and supply chains, smart devices, medical equipment, and vocational education and training. The Council also proposed extending an official invitation to a Chinese delegation to visit Ajman, as part of a curated hosting program showcasing the emirate's urban planning, regulatory excellence, cultural richness, and economic potential. The program will also spotlight unique investment opportunities aligned with Ajman Vision 2030, complemented by tailored incentives and facilitation packages for prospective Chinese investors. The Executive Council approved the launch of the "Ajman Learns" project, an ambitious initiative under Ajman Vision 2030, designed to reinforce the emirate's commitment to lifelong learning. The project aims to establish robust governance and evaluation frameworks to monitor progress in positioning Ajman as a hub of knowledge, innovation, inclusiveness, and sustainable growth. Sheikh Ammar emphasised that investing in people through lifelong learning is essential to realising the emirate's future vision. He further reaffirmed the directives of Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid to prioritise human capital development and build an educational system that underpins sustainable social and economic advancement. The Council also directed the development of a new accreditation programme for technical and vocational training centers and institutes to ensure the quality and relevance of their outcomes in line with labor market needs.
