On Monday, August 18, 2025, the 21-year-old American posted two unseen photos on her Instagram story showing herself as a child standing beside her father on a tennis court and later relaxing at a beach in Florida. Along with the photos, Coco Gauff wrote a brief but clear note calling Corey Gauff her "dream fueler" and expressing thanks to her father for consistently supporting her in her tennis career. For her fans, this was a particularly unique post because the two-time Grand Slam champion rarely posts family memories. Coco Gauff praises Corey Gauff with touching words and sweet throwback pictures Coco Gauff posted the first picture early in the morning on Monday and wrote, 'Happy birthday to the best to ever do it, the man with a plan, and my dream fueler. I love you dad @coreygauff.' The second Instagram story showed the father-daughter duo at a beach and read, 'From the courts straight to the beach, lol the real & best Florida tennis dad.' These words gave a small look into their close bond. In a recent interview with The National, Coco Gauff said that her father never forced her to play tennis and that the dream was always her own. She added, 'He was always asking, 'How can I help her accomplish her dreams?'' 'Crowd here not to listen, but to see how I look after losing', said Vajpayee after 1984 poll loss

Nagpur: Recalling former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee 's trademark wit, BJP city president and ex-mayor Dayashankar Tiwari on Sunday narrated how the veteran leader turned even electoral defeat into humour during his 61st birthday celebration in Nagpur. Speaking at the launch of 'Retirement', a book by city cardiologist Dr Kirti Tanna, Tiwari said that after Vajpayee lost the 1985 Lok Sabha election from Gwalior in the aftermath of Indira Gandhi's assassination, he was invited to Nagpur for his 61st birthday. Addressing the gathering then, Vajpayee had quipped that for the first time, people had not come to hear him speak, but to see how he looked after defeat. "Delivered with his trademark wit, the line drew laughter and admiration, showcasing his ability to turn setbacks into moments of connection and humour," Tiwari said. During the same event, Vajpayee was presented with a gift bag of ₹11 lakh arranged by the then party treasurer Vitthaldas Loya. In his inimitable style, Vajpayee joked that Loya was "a smart man who knows every penny," and a true Maheshwari, once again displaying his sharpness and ease of engagement. Explaining why his 61st birthday was special, Vajpayee had said that while in Maharashtra the 61st birthday is traditionally celebrated, in Uttar Pradesh it is believed a man becomes a true pundit only after 60. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like American Investor Warren Buffett Recommends: 5 Books For Turning Your Life Around Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo Tiwari noted that Vajpayee's reflections on age were a testament to how one should live beyond 60 — with grace, humour and wisdom — qualities also echoed in Tanna's book. Dr Tanna said the launch of 'Retirement' was the fulfilment of a long-cherished dream shared with his wife. Having completed seven decades of life and over 40 years in medical practice, he described the book as his contribution to society. "Retirement is often seen as negative, a full stop. But today it is a comma — an opportunity to explore new choices," he said. Earlier, retirement meant pilgrimage and devotion, but now it can also mean travel, friendships, hobbies, and self-discovery. Stressing more on the psychological than the financial aspect, Tanna urged people to embrace this stage with enthusiasm, step out, spend time with friends and maintain balance. "There is no commercial motive, only the intent to change perceptions," he added. Former MP Girish Vyas, recalling his bond with Tanna's father, said the book is a must-read for anyone nearing retirement. He praised its clarity, use of data on global retirees' happiness, and ability to evoke reflections similar to films like Baghban. RSS city chief Rajesh Loya described retirement as "remodelling oneself." Lauding Tanna beyond his role as a skilled doctor and social worker, he said the book revealed an inspiring personal side rooted in strong values.
