Pakistan captain Mohammed Rizwan expressed confidence in his part-time bowlers following their five-wicket loss to West Indies in the second ODI at Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad and Tobago on August 11.
The series is now leveled at 1-1 after West Indies successfully chased down an adjusted target of 181 in the rain-affected match.
Roston Chase and Justin Greaves secured the victory for West Indies with an unbeaten 77-run partnership. The duo particularly targeted Pakistan's part-time bowlers Saim Ayub and Salman Agha, who each conceded 33 runs during their spells.

"You could say our fifth bowler gave away too many runs today, but in recent years, Salman Agha and Saim Ayub have both bowled well for us.
Saim did not have the best day today, but he performed well in the T20Is. That is just part of the game," Rizwan said after the match.
Regarding team selection for the decisive third match, Rizwan remained noncommittal. "Honestly, the weather forecast has been completely different from expectations, and it is hard to read. We are keeping our options open and will finalise the XI after assessing the conditions," he stated.

Should Pakistan rely more on their part-time bowlers in crucial matches?
Yes, they can perform well
No, they should focus on specialist bowlers
The victory marked West Indies' first win against Pakistan in more than six years, with their previous triumph coming at the 2019 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup in Nottingham, where they secured a seven-wicket win.
West Indies, who missed qualification for the 2023 World Cup in India, are now focusing on returning to the major tournament in 2027, according to coach Daren Sammy and captain Shai Hope.
West Indies captain Hope emphasized their commitment to improvement across all aspects of the game.
"We always speak about partnerships, and we just want to get better in every area, so I am happy with the win today," he said.
Hope also praised his team's performance in the match. "It was great to see our guys adapt in the middle overs, and credit has to go to Chase and Greaves for sealing the deal and to Sherfane too, who gave us impetus," he added.
The series decider is scheduled to be played at the same venue on Tuesday.

AIFF assures Jamil of uninterrupted two-year term
Khalid Jamil is the only Indian who has managed teams as chief coach for the last 15 years Panaji: The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has assured Khalid Jamil that he will have an uninterrupted two-year stint with the national team, a key factor that convinced the Jamshedpur FC coach to quit the club and take up the national team job on a full-time basis. Jamil, the first Indian to coach the men's national team since Savio Medeira in 2012 and the first full-time domestic coach since Sukhwinder Singh in almost two decades, has signed a two-year contract, with an option to extend for another year, the AIFF announced on Wednesday. He was initially keen on a three year contract. 'Khalid was quitting his secure job at Jamshedpur, so wanted assurance on a long-term deal,' a senior official told TOI. 'He was not interested in any short-term agreement, and the federation didn't want him in a dual club-and-country role. Since the executive committee and the technical committee had enough trust in him, it made sense to hand him a two-year contract.' Jamil is the only Indian who has managed teams as chief coach for the last 15 years, with close to 225 senior games in the top divisions. Other domestic coaches who were in the fray like Sanjoy Sen, Renedy Singh, Mehrajuddin Wadoo, S Venkatesh, Shankarlal Chakraborty, Santosh Kashyap and Ishfaq Ahmed, the AIFF pointed out in its presentation, either had limited success or limited head coach experience at the senior level. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Dementia Has Been Linked To a Common Habit. 'Over the years, I've had the opportunity to train Indian players, and I've grown to understand their strengths and weaknesses intimately. These insights will be fundamental to everything we do as we prepare for the CAFA Nations Cup and the crucial Asian Cup qualifiers against Singapore. " Jamshedpur were left with no choice but mutually part ways with Jamil after it became clear that the national team opportunity was too good to skip. Assistant coach Steven Dias will take over as the interim head coach. 'This is a proud moment for the Indian football fraternity as an Indian coach takes charge to guide the nation towards AFC Asian Cup qualification to start with, a challenge we believe rests on Jamil's able shoulders,' Jamshedpur said in a statement. It were Jamshedpur who showed faith in the 48-year-old after he lost his job at NorthEast United in 2022. He first worked at Bengaluru United in the third-tier of Indian football, then had a one-month stint as coach of Nepal Super League club FC Chitwan, before Jamshedpur offered him a second opportunity in the ISL. 'Witnessing his progression has been truly special,' said Jamshedpur CEO Mukul Choudhari, who was the first to provide Jamil with the coaching break during their time at Mumbai FC. 'Khalid's hard work, focus, and commitment has earned him the opportunity, and we couldn't be more proud. I am confident the national team will do well under his leadership.' Cincinnati Bengals risk wasting Joe Burrow's prime amid Trey Hendrickson contract standoff
Trey Hendrickson's holdout could waste Joe Burrow's prime (Image via: Getty Images) The Cincinnati Bengals face a growing dilemma as star pass rusher Trey Hendrickson remains without a new contract. Despite attending practices and mentoring rookie first-round pick Shemar Stewart, Hendrickson isn't participating in team drills. With the season fast approaching, his absence from full action could prove costly for a team built to contend for a Super Bowl. Trey Hendrickson's contract dispute threatens Cincinnati Bengals ' defense Hendrickson has been one of the NFL's most dominant edge rushers over the past two seasons, racking up an impressive 17.5 sacks in each campaign. On the open market, his production would command well over $30 million annually, nearly double the $16 million he's set to earn this year. He's still under contract, leaving him to either wait out the Bengals or force a trade. ESPN analyst Louis Riddick didn't hold back on Get Up, criticizing Cincinnati's front office for letting the standoff linger. He warned that failing to secure key players like Hendrickson 'contributes to wasting the prime of franchise quarterback Joe Burrow' and puts the Bengals at risk of falling behind elite NFL contenders. Joe Burrow Disappointed With Bengals Offense, Discusses Trey Hendrickson & Shemar Stewart Holdouts Cincinnati must fix Hendrickson dispute to protect Joe Burrow 's prime and title hopes Burrow, already established as one of the league's best quarterbacks, has elite weapons in Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and promising running back Chase Brown. However, the defense's inconsistency last season, even with Hendrickson on the field, was a major factor in Cincinnati missing the playoffs. Without Hendrickson disrupting opposing quarterbacks, the Bengals' defense could become a glaring weakness once again. His ability to collapse pockets and generate game-changing plays is crucial to keeping Cincinnati in the conversation for the Super Bowl. With Joe Burrow, the Bengals have a rare franchise quarterback who can keep them in the Super Bowl hunt. But in the NFL, a quarterback's prime doesn't last forever, and championship windows close quickly. If Trey Hendrickson's contract standoff drags on, defensive weaknesses could once again derail Cincinnati's elite offensive potential. Also Read: Andy Reid's honest confession about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce as 'The Life of a Showgirl' album becomes NFL talking point Cincinnati must act decisively, whether that means extending Hendrickson's deal or finding a fair trade; they cannot afford to let this standoff derail their season.
