Great British Bake Off judges and hosts confirmed as trailer for new series drops
There's good news for Great British Bake Off fans as Channel 4 has released a new trailer for the upcoming series.
The popular show The Great British Bake Off is poised to return to screens imminently as summer draws to a close.

The beloved Channel 4 culinary programme has remained a television favourite for years, signalling the start of autumn as millions of viewers settle in to observe both triumphant and disastrous baking attempts.

The upcoming series is merely weeks from broadcast as audiences gear up to witness the success, and occasional downfall, of cakes, pastry, and loaves. To herald the approaching new series, Channel 4 has unveiled a sneak peek whilst confirming the presenters and judges, though one remains absent.

Comic Joe Wilkinson assumes the role of narrator for the quirky trailer which seems to unfold in outer space, before baking components materialise.
He guides viewers through an exploration of existence, featuring presenters Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond appearing as cartoon figures. Referencing the hosts, Joe remarked: "From it grew life, intelligent life, adorned in knitwear and leopard print."

Drawing inspiration from the Big Bang, the trailer envisions a cosmos created not from particles and vapour, but from a magnificent eruption of flour, sugar, and baked delights. Ultimately, it reveals everything originated from the sparkling blue gaze of judge Paul Hollywood himself, reports the Mirror.
Judge Prue Leith was absent from the promotional clip for the forthcoming series, though she was represented as a cartoon sun, which had glasses and bright coloured hair.

Channel 4 has confirmed her participation as they stated: " As the ovens fire up and a new batch of bakers steps into the iconic tent to face Paul and Prue, audiences can expect all the classic ingredients - warmth, humour, creativity, and just the right amount of competition.
"This autumn, let the universe of Bake Off pull you in once again. Because, as the trail says, once there was nothing, and then there was Bake Off."

A launch date remains unconfirmed for viewers, though it has been hinted as coming "soon". Prior to Prue's omission from the teaser, numerous supporters had questioned her continued involvement with the programme.
She took over from Dame Mary Berry as a judge on the television favourite when it transferred to Channel 4 in 2017, and has remained alongside Paul ever since.
The celebrated television chef has also gone on to present Prue Leith's Cotswolds Kitchen for ITV and last year featured on The Masked Singer.

Nevertheless, she was absent from presenting responsibilities for Celebrity Great British Bake Off earlier this year, causing viewer anxiety. Many speculated whether she had departed the series, but Prue maintained this was not the situation.

During a guest spot on ITV's Lorraine, she informed audiences that she only stepped back from the celebrity edition because she required a rest, clarifying: "I keep being asked if I'm leaving.

"This is because I left the celebrity [version]. I stopped doing that last year because I just hadn't had a holiday in the summer for eight years. I've only given up Celebrity [Bake Off]."
She stated: "I still do The Great American Bake Off, which we are filming at the moment, and I still do The Great British Bake Off, which I love, and is the mother of them all."
Prue has no plans to leave the regular version of the show, adding: "It's the best job in telly. It's absolutely the best job in telly, I don't have to learn lines, I don't have to have script. I just walk on and eat cake."

Darius Danesh's ex-wife speaks out after he died after refusing operation

Darius Danesh's ex-wife speaks out after he died after refusing operation Darius Campbell Danesh' ex-wife Natasha Henstridge has shared a heartfelt tribute to the singer on the third anniversary of his death Darius Campbell (formerly Danesh) who rose to fame after coming third in ITV's Pop Idol show and had number one hits in the UK with both his debut single and album. (Image: ITV/REX/Shutterstock) Darius Campbell Danesh's former wife has paid tribute to the late singer on the third anniversary of his death. The former Pop Idol star passed away suddenly at the age of 41 in August 2022 after inhaling chloroethane - also known as ethyl chloride - at his Minnesota flat. ‌ Three years after the tragedy, 50 year old Canadian actress Natasha Henstridge - who petitioned for divorce from the Colourblind singer in 2013, following just over two years of marriage - has confessed she still misses him deeply. Sharing a collection of photographs of Darius, including one showing the pair posing before the Eiffel Tower in Paris. ‌ She wrote on Instagram on August 11: "Love and light always. Miss you today.... Sending love to the Danesh's and everyone whose life he touched." ‌ According to his partner, Darius had been "living with a broken neck" and an undiagnosed cardiac condition when he passed away, reports the Mirror. Darius Danesh made his first appearance in Popstars but did not have any success (Image: ITV) Lauren Cheek revealed that a post-mortem examination showed his heart was "twice the size" it should have been and that she believes he used the recreational anaesthetic to ease his pain. Article continues below She told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: "Darius was living with this heart condition that he didn't know he had. So many things could have taken him, but this one thing did, and he died in his sleep. "His mum told me they only found out after they did the autopsy. His heart was twice the size it was supposed to be, which was fitting, because that is genuinely how he was - he had so much love. "The autopsy also found he was living with a broken neck, but he refused to get help or complain about it. I think he used (chloroethane) because he was in so much pain and he didn't want to take pills, not even aspirin. That's what killed him - the substance mixed with his heart and he couldn't take it." ‌ Lauren continued by revealing that Darius - who rose to prominence after delivering an unforgettable performance of Britney Spears' chart-topper '...Baby One More Time' on the ITV talent programme Popstars before launching a series of successful singles and later starring in West End productions - had suffered his injuries during racing alongside Hollywood star Gerard Butler and consistently "refused" her pleas to seek medical attention. She continued: "He was with Gerry (Butler) in Monaco for the Grand Prix and they slammed into a wall during a race with the Prince of Monaco. I don't think it ever fully healed and then he rebroke it because he got hit by a car in London a year or two before he died when he was riding a bike. "And then he got into a car accident with his dad in Scotland. D was in the passenger seat, his dad was driving and someone drove into them. ‌ "He was always in pain and I would beg him to see the doctor, but he refused. He was trying to find a natural remedy." Declining surgery Darius had been struggling with severe neck pain following two separate motor vehicle collisions. The initial incident happened in Spain during 2010, leaving him with a fractured neck. ‌ In a previous interview with HELLO!, he revealed how he came within just 'three millimetres from death'. The performer had been enjoying a driving holiday with friends and was travelling on the motorway during scorching weather conditions. "Because of the haze, we didn't see that there was a diesel spill on the road. Before we could work out what was going on, it was already too late," he explained. ‌ "The car careered out of control on a bend, and we smashed into a wall at 70mph. My first recollection is my friend, the driver, asking if I was ok." He continued by describing how he recalled experiencing a "sharp pain" in his neck before losing consciousness. After the crash, Darius was reportedly presented with the option of neck surgery that could have been transformative, but the entertainer notably refused the treatment due to concerns it might affect his singing voice. Article continues below His discomfort progressively worsened over time, and a subsequent road traffic accident in 2021 further aggravated his condition. Rather than undergoing the operation, Darius allegedly managed the 'intense nerve pain' through cannabis, pain medication, and an anaesthetic substance, the last of which tragically led to 'respiratory arrest'.

Terrified Mack begs for life in brutal Emmerdale trailer as killer John strikes

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video An Emmerdale trailer has been released that shows the moment Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) learns the truth about John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth). Mackenzie was suspicious of John for quite a while, but he ignored his worries when the local medic was able to save Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) from a deadly situation. That was orchestrated by John, by the way. Mack concluded that he judged John far too early and since then, they've been somewhat civil with each other. But everything is set to change next week. Mackenzie will make a discovery about John shortly after a huge row with Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins). We don't know what it is at the moment, but the trailer is enough to confirm that uncovering the information about John will alter everything for Mack. In the tense trailer, Mack is seen running through the woods. Eagle-eyed fans will also spot that this is the moment from Mack's flashforward clip, which aired towards the end of 2024. Mack dashes through the trees but ends up falling. Alongside these clips, we see John telling Mack that he has now 'joined up the dots'. While this is happening, Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) looks set to confront Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller). They will share a kiss on Monday, but Robert reckons that Aaron still loves him and doesn't want to leave with John. At the end of the trailer, Mackenzie is seen begging for his life as John throws a large rock above his head, presumably preparing for the moment he murders Mack. 'Guess I really am the bad guy', John says. If Mackenzie is murdered by John, it will be the first time (as far as we are aware) that he truly intends to kill someone. When Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) was killed, John never planned for it to happen. He gave Nate some medication and he had a bad reaction to it, leading to his death. Could this be a sign that John will now become even more unhinged, ahead of his inevitable exit? Lawrence Robb, who plays Mackenzie Boyd, spoke about the rumours of Mack's death this week. When appearing on the ITV daytime show Loose Women to talk about the ongoing surrogacy storyline – that has seen Charity decide to be a surrogate for granddaughter Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) – the awkward matter of his upcoming exit was addressed. 'I don't want to put you on the spot, but I'm going to,' asked Jane Moore. 'There's lots of rumours that Mack might be getting killed off.' Lawrence, visibly squirming, replied: 'Yeah, there are lots of rumours. And rumours they shall remain.' Quick thinking – though Denise Welch didn't look too convinced. Co-host Coleen Nolan then chimed in, asking: 'If that was the case, I'm not saying it is or it isn't, [but] do they discuss that with you straight away or about a month before it's happening?' 'It's never brutal,' he replied, being extremely cautious about his wording. 'I've always said, being in the show, I never want to be too prescriptive with it. 'I've always enjoyed doing what I'm doing. Ultimately if and when, – if, when – the time for Mack to leave comes, whether that be my choice or the writer-producers, I'll be thankful for the time that I've had.' He concluded: 'Ultimately, nobody is safe in the show. It's most dangerous village in the country.' More Trending Mack made his debut five years ago when he turned up at Butlers Farm as the long-lost younger sibling of Moira. He also swiftly embarked on a relationship with Charity, who was seeing Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) at the time of their one night stand. In the years since, Mack has been at the centre of numerous stories, including a one night stand with Chloe Harris, which led to the birth of his son Reuben.
