As Akhilesh says govt ‘anti-Brahmin', Deputy CM Pathak hits back
Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday accused the Yogi Adityanath government in UP of being 'anti-Brahmin', inviting sharp reactions from Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, who alleged that the former CM was spreading the poison of caste-based divisions in society.
During a meeting with a delegation of the Brahmin community at his party office in Lucknow, Yadav said: 'Those in power don't like 'tilak' (indicating Brahmins). They consider the community a political threat and carry out repressive actions against them.'
Referring to the Brahmin community, the former chief minister said, 'You are an integral part of the PDA (Backward, Dalit and Minority) alliance. When you write your name in short as 'Pd' (pundit), you're already in PDA. We stand with every oppressed and insulted person.' He said the present government is unjust and suppresses anyone who dares to oppose it, irrespective of caste. 'This regime doesn't care about caste — it acts against whoever stands against it,' he said.
Hitting back at the SP chief, Deputy CM Pathak said that Yadav had no moral right to speak on Brahmin's issues, 'given the humiliation meted out to that community under his party's rule'.
He cited the murder of Neeraj Mishra from Kannauj and the public humiliation of the Vajpayee family in Etawah. Neeraj Mishra's throat was slit and he was sent to Lucknow, the deputy chief minister said.

Another top Maoist with 45L bounty killed in encounter
Raipur: In yet another big blow to the Left Wing Extremism (LWE), another senior Maoist rank cadre — Bhaskar, who carried Rs 45 lakh bounty — was neutralized on Friday in an encounter that broke out in the same area where Maoists central committee member Sudhakar alias Tentu Lakshmi Narasimha Chalam was gunned down on Thursday in the forests of Bijapur. The encounter was part of the same anti-Maoist operation underway since Wednesday being carried out by personnel from the state police's Special Task Force (STF), District Reserve Guard (DRG) and CoBRA. Intermittent firing between security forces and the Maoist ultras took place the whole day and after the guns fell silent, security forces recovered the body of 45-year-old Maoist Bhaskar, who carried a bounty of Rs 25 lakh in Chhattisgarh and Rs 20 lakh in Telangana. Bhaskar was a Special Zonal Committee member of Telangana State Committee and was reportedly operating in the dense forests of Indravati National Park — a known Maoist stronghold. Three days ago, TOI had reported that security forces in Bastar have precise information on the locations of nine top Maoist commanders in Bastar division, and an operation to eliminate them is imminent unless they surrender. Speaking to TOI, Bastar range inspector general of police P Sundarraj said, "As part of the ongoing anti-Naxal operation in the National Park area of Bijapur district, security forces have recovered the dead body of another male cadre. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Air conditioners without external unit. "Bhaskar, a resident of Adilabad district in Telangana, was the Secretary of the Mancherial-Komarambheem (MKB) division of the CPI (Maoist) outfit," the IG further said. In the same operation on June 5, security forces had recovered the body of Central Committee member Gautam alias Sudhakar along with an AK-47 rifle. The search operation in the area is still ongoing to trace other Maoist cadres in the nearby area. Detailed information regarding other Maoist casualties and recoveries will be shared after the operation concludes and full confirmation is received. HC bench orders UP govt not to demolish any madrassa in Shravasti
Lucknow: The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court has ordered that the Uttar Pradesh authorities would not take any coercive action against more than two dozen madrassas of Shravasti district. It also cautioned the state that it would not demolish any madrassas which have approached the court. The bench asked the state government to file its reply against the writ petitions till July 3. A bench of Justice Jaspreet Singh passed the order on the petitions moved by Madarssa Moinul Islam Qasmiya Samiti and 26 other madrassas individually in Shravasti. In April, the UP had govt launched a major drive against illegal encroachments in districts near the India-Nepal border, Bahraich, Shravasti, Siddharthnagar, Maharajganj, and Balrampur, demolishing hundreds of unauthorised structures, including unrecognised religious institutions. Illegal constructions were demolished in Shravasti and Bahraich, while in Siddharthnagar, 12 illegal structures were identified and notices issued. In Lakhimpur Kheri, a day-long survey found no illegal encroachments. These actions target long-standing illegal occupations of valuable border land, which the Yogi govt is determined to reclaim, the UP govt order said. In his order on Friday, Justice Singh observed, "It is now equally well settled that where any notice in the nature of a show cause is issued, it must be issued with sufficient particularity so that the noticee can respond specifically and can know what charge is to be replied." by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch CFD với công nghệ và tốc độ tốt hơn IC Markets Đăng ký Undo The bench had already passed a similar order allowing a petition filed in connection with another such madrassa, Maktab Anwarul Uloom, Shravasti, on May 14.
