Lotto: Millionaire Medley makes one lucky West Aussie $1 million richer

West Australian06-08-2025
There was only one winner of the division one prize in Wednesday night's Lotto draw, and they were a West Aussie.
The lucky player struck gold in the Millionaire Medley draw and won a cool $1,000,000.
The winning numbers were 28, 20, 32, 31, 8, 10, and the supplementary numbers were 23 and 22.
In division two, a pair of West Aussies won a handy $8,672.60 and 53 more won a less impressive $774.35 in division three.
Wednesday night's success in the state follows on from the success of an Aussie pair of players who won a staggering $15 million each in Tuesday's Oz Lotto draw.
Weekend winnings were also abundant for two Perth players who bought tickets from opposite sides of the Swan river and both took home $1.42 million.
The slips that matched the numbers for Saturday's division one prize were bought from Banksia Grove News and The Lucky Charm in Rockingham.
Lotterywest spokesperson, Zoe Wender, revealed that Saturday Lotto saw the most wins per year.
'Since the start of 2025, WA has celebrated 36 wins thanks to Saturday Lotto, which continues to deliver the most division one wins for WA players each year,' she said.

Lotto: Search is on for West Aussie ticketholder sitting on $1.6 million win from Saturday's jackpot

One lucky West Aussie has had their life changed after winning a share of Saturday's lotto jackpot, and they might not know it yet. It has been revealed that the division one winning ticket was sold from The Lucky Charm Gwelup, earning a eye-watering sum of $1,631,770.49. It was one of four winning tickets that claimed a slice of the jackpot, with the other slips being sold in New South Wales and Victoria. Lotterywest spokesperson Zoe Wender said the west winner is not a registered Lotterywest member, so there is every chance they are unaware of the life-altering win. 'When a registered ticket matches the numbers to a division one prize, the player receives a phone call first thing the next business day to share the good news about their win,' she said. 'We once called a player who was in the car with their whole family, including the family dog. 'When they found out they had won, the whole family started screaming in excitement, with even the dog joining in. 'Thankfully the owner of the ticket was in the passenger seat and able to catch their breath while the driver turned the car around and came straight to Lotterywest HQ to claim the prize. 'We always recommend registering your ticket to a Lotterywest membership to keep it safe, and to receive that exciting phone call if you do win a division one prize.' The winning numbers from draw #4599 were 23, 6, 38, 1, 15, 18, the supps were 32 and 24. Division two produced 47 winners, with seven coming from WA - who each pocket a handy $13,339.30. Luck is in the air across the state, following the heartwarming win for a retired Geraldton couple earlier this month. Scooping a cool $100,000 on a Scratch 'n' Win ticket, they celebrated by flying to Adelaide to watch their beloved Fremantle play against Port Adelaide. 'We're going to fly to Adelaide to see the Dockers this weekend,' the Geraldton couple said. 'We wouldn't usually travel interstate to see a game but the Dockers are having such a good run this year and now we can go and cheer them on.' The Tuesday OZ Lotto draw is boosting the prizes for wins in division two to seven by 30 per cent thanks to the Prize Boost Special Event, for the massive $8 million draw.

Big Bash League: Perth Scorchers quick Matt Kelly primed for a clean run at season across three formats

Perth Scorchers quick Matt Kelly is primed to play three formats of cricket this summer after two years cruelled by injury. And the Scorchers stalwart is using the Top End T20 tournament in Darwin to build towards a season where he looms as an important part of an evolving bowling attack. Kelly was on a path that would have had him contending for an international debut two seasons ago. He had been picked for Australia A before a quad injury ruled him out of those matches, then he had pectoral surgery and missed the rest of that summer. Watch the Top End T20 series from Darwin live and free on 7plus A stop-start season with injury and battling for a spot in the strong attack meant Kelly played just four times for the Scorchers last season. In his two matches at the start of the Top End tournament — where the Scorchers have taken a mix of contracted players and West Aussie prospects — Kelly has taken six wickets. 'For me personally it's just getting out and hopefully having an extended run of cricket and feel really good doing it,' he said. 'Get some confidence back that I am able to play good quality cricket at this level and do it consistently over a long period of time. 'Hopefully it's the start of what's going to be a good summer. 'I've put a lot of work into trying to be in a good position to tackle this summer and hopefully play all formats again and make sure I'm on the park as much as possible.' The Scorchers have played three matches and won their first two before a defeat to Chicago Kingsman. While Kelly says the players have not spoken about it between them, there is a race for the club's final list spot taking place. It is now firming for that final place to go to a spinner, with three slow bowlers auditioning on this tour. Reigning Laurie Sawle medallist Corey Rocchiccioli, who has starred for WA in two formats appears to be the frontrunner for that spot, but leg-spinner all-rounder Matthew Spoors — who debuted for the Scorchers last year — and Willetton young gun Luke Holt are also in the mix. Emerging paceman Bryce Jackson is also pressing hard for an early-season debut. The Albany product has taken five wickets from his two matches after impressing in a breakout one-day campaign last summer. Jackson is seen as a new-ball option with genuine pace who can swing the ball in the powerplay. The Scorchers also brought home left-armer Joel Paris from Melbourne Stars after last season and the attack already includes Kelly, Lance Morris, Jhye Richardson and Mahli Beardman. 'The thing we love about Jacko is firstly his energy ... he gives 100 per cent all the time. With the new ball he can swing the ball and we love doing that for WA and the Scorchers in the early overs,' Kelly said of Jackson. 'He bowls good pace too, so for us it is exciting to see his development and I'm really pumped to see what he's going to offer this summer.' Meanwhile, tickets for the Scorchers' blockbuster run of home matches — including the Boxing Day clash and a season-opener against rivals Sydney Sixers — go on sale to the general public on Tuesday.
