Rajinikanth's Coolie box office collection sets a new Tamil cinema record, crossing Rs 300 crore worldwide in three days and eyeing a Rs 600 crore lifetime total.
Rajinikanth's Coolie box office collection day 3: Rajinikanth's Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, has opened to a record-breaking reception at the box office. With massive advance bookings ahead of release, the film grossed around Rs 150 crore worldwide on its first day, making it the highest-opening Tamil film ever.
Coolie Strong Momentum Despite Weekend Dip
Even after the Independence Day holiday, Coolie maintained strong ticket sales. Overseas, the film earned over $12 million in the first two days and crossed $15 million by the third day. Overall, Coolie's worldwide gross now stands at Rs 320 crore, setting a new milestone for Tamil cinema in 2025.
Rajinikanth's Coolie Beating Records and Bollywood Hits
With this performance, Coolie became the fastest Tamil film to cross Rs 300 crore worldwide, surpassing last year's Leo, which took four days. On day three, it also overtook the lifetime box office collections of Bollywood hits like Sitaare Zameen Par (Rs 263 crore) and Housefull 5 (Rs 288 crore), despite not yet completing its opening weekend.
Coolie Eyes Rs 600 Crore
Despite mixed reviews, Coolie has sustained its box office momentum. Analysts predict the film could reach Rs 600 crore worldwide, challenging Rajinikanth's own records with 2.0 and Jailer. Only three Tamil films have ever crossed this mark, with Rajinikanth leading in two and Vijay's Leo in the third.
The film's strong opening highlights Rajinikanth's enduring star power and the growing international appetite for Tamil cinema. Fans continue to flock to theatres, showing that even polarising word of mouth has not slowed the blockbuster's run.
