Caitlin Clark Shares Candid Thoughts on 'Idol' Steph Curry
Yes, Clark is only in her second WNBA season while the 37-year-old Curry is heading toward year 18 next October, with four NBA championship rings on his hand.

But their style of play and the attention they draw from defenses, just about the moment either one of them passes half-court, is almost identical, in part due to the very realistic threat of Curry or Clark quickly pulling up and dropping a 3-pointer from the logo in a way that might make it look just a little too easy.

The exorbitant amount of focus that's routinely paid to the duo usually means that at least one player is probably wide open, sometimes maybe two, which allows for great ball movement and others to get involved.
So, on Thursday night, the Fever arrived at "The House that Curry Built" to face the Golden State Valkyries—a WNBA expansion franchise in its first season—which made for a pretty easy reason to ask Clark to offer up some words about the NBA's all-time leader in 3-pointers.

"I grew up watching Steph," Clark said. "To me, he's one of the greatest basketball players of all time...I think he's really changed the way basketball is being played. Maybe at times, me and him both, like kids shouldn't always just go and chuck a bunch of 3s, but that's what makes the game so exciting."
"He's really changed basketball and everybody's that ever met him knows how good of a person he is too," Clark continued. "So, it's cool to be here. He's somebody I certainly idolize."
With Clark offering plenty of praise for the widely adored Curry, what very well could have been the greatest thing to pluck from her first time playing at the Chase Center might be that she apparently yelled out "Curry!" after launching her final 3-pointer during the Fever's pregame shoot-around.

Unfortunately for Clark and the Fever, they had a pretty rough outing against Golden State, losing 88-77 after a generally flat showing in the second half.
The 23-year-old Clark did still manage to fill up the stat sheet, just not to the ridiculously high standards the second-year star has already set for herself, finishing with 11 points, nine assists, seven rebounds, and a steal.

The Tonight Show landed its biggest audience in years as Jimmy Fallon hosted Fox News personality Greg Gutfeld last Thursday. The episode drew in 1.7 million viewers, according to Nielsen live-plus-same day figures. It was the program's most-watched 'regular' broadcast — meaning not airing directly after a major sporting event — since December 19, 2023, when a post-The Voice finale episode attracted 1.74 million viewers. Some of Thursday's viewers may be attributed to the night's lead guest, the Jonas Brothers; however, it's Gutfeld's segment that boasts by far the most viewers on the show's YouTube channel (990,000 at the time of writing). During the highly anticipated interview, Fallon and Gutfeld steered clear of politics, instead bantering about their first drunken meeting at a bar in New York City. 'This is hilarious — we've met before,' Fallon opened with. 'Yes, you have no memory of it. Which is understandable, because we were wasted,' Gutfeld responded before launching into a long-winded anecdote about their meeting. The host of Fox's politically charged comedy panel show, Gutfeld!, alluded to his then-upcoming appearance with Fallon last week, saying it would be the 'biggest crossover since the Harlem Globetrotters visited the Golden Girls.' 'Unlike the other guys, Jimmy sitting with me proves he's not afraid of upsetting his peers or afraid of my mesmerizing charm,' he added. Fallon has shown his willingness to be pragmatic about humoring the right in the past, infamously hosting Donald Trump in September 2016, two months before his victory over Hillary Clinton, and ruffling the New York property tycoon's blonde hair to check whether it was real. The gesture alienated some of The Tonight Show's audience, and Fallon later expressed regret over it, telling The New York Times in 2017: 'I didn't do it to humanize him. I almost did it to minimize him. I didn't think that would be a compliment: 'He did the thing that we all wanted to do.'' Trump himself was angered over Fallon's 'whimpering' attempts to distance himself from the interview, rebuking him on Twitter: 'Be a man Jimmy!' By contrast, Trump has long been a champion of Gutfeld, posting a Fox press release celebrating his high ratings on Truth Social last September and writing in all-caps: 'GUTFELD! NOTCHES LARGEST AUDIENCE IN PROGRAM HISTORY WITH NEARLY FIVE MILLION VIEWERS DURING INTERVIEW WITH FORMER PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP.' When fellow late-night host Stephen Colbert's show was axed last month, the president wrote: 'I absolutely love that Colbert' got fired. His talent was even less than his ratings. I hear Jimmy Kimmel is next. Has even less talent than Colbert! Greg Gutfeld is better than all of them combined, including the Moron on NBC who ruined the once great Tonight Show.' Gutfeld likewise gloated over The Late Show's demise, commenting on Fox: 'This was an 'institution,' and rather than put someone in his place they just said, 'We're closing up.' Imagine being a chef. You're such a bad chef that they cancel food… It's so obvious. You can't do a comedy show and a sermon at the same time.'

Howard scores 25 as Dream beat Storm for their sixth straight win
SEATTLE (AP) — Rhyne Howard scored 25 points, Allisha Gray had 22 points and 11 rebounds for her second double-double this season, and the Atlanta Dream won their sixth straight, 85-75 over the Seattle Storm on Wednesday night. Howard made three 3-pointers in the final 30 seconds of the third quarter to take a 68-54 lead. She banked in a 3-pointer with 3.9 seconds left and then stole the inbounds pass, leading to another 3-pointer from the same spot. Seattle got as close as 77-69 in the fourth before Gray answered with a basket and Howard added two free throws for a 12-point lead with 2:37 left. Atlanta (21-11) moved past New York (21-12) for second place in the WNBA standings with 12 games remaining. The Dream play the Storm again on Friday in Vancouver, British Columbia. Lowe, Caminero hit 2-run homers in the Rays' 8-2 victory over the Athletics
WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Brandon Lowe and Junior Caminero hit two-run home runs, Drew Rasmussen threw six innings and the Tampa Bay Rays beat the Athletics 8-2 on Wednesday night. Lowe's second-inning home run off J.T. Ginn (2-5) — his 24th of the season — made it 6-0. Caminero homered in the ninth. Rasmussen (10-5) reached double-digit wins for the second time in his career, but saw his AL-best scoreless streak end at 17 1/3 innings when Lawrence Butler hit a two-run homer in the third. It was the first extra-base hit allowed by Rasmussen in his last four starts. Caminero, Josh Lowe, and Jake Mangum each had RBIs in the top of the first, and Mangum scored on a throwing error. Ginn allowed six hits and six runs — five earned — in two innings. Key moment Lowe's two-run homer to left center extended the Rays' lead.
