A 19 year old motorcyclist has been left with serious injuries after a crash. The incident took place about a mile north of Capel Curig within the bounds of Eryri National Park.
North Wales Police received an emergency call at 2:38pm alerting them to a two-vehicle collision involving a grey Audi Q7 and a blue Yamaha motorcycle on the A5 in northwest Wales this afternoon (Sunday, July 13).

The rider was flown by the Wales Air Ambulance to Royal University Stoke Hospital's serious trauma unit, where he is currently receiving treatment.

The A5 has been shut down between Capel Curig, Conwy, and Bethesda, Gwynedd, as preliminary investigation works take place. Motorists are being rerouted via the A470 and A55, which has led to reports of congestion, notably around Betws-y-Coed.
Sergeant Alun Jones from North Wales Police's Roads Policing Unit has assured the public that more information regarding the road closure will be provided as their enquiries progress, reports North Wales Live.
This area witnessed a similar incident just two weeks prior, resulting in an overnight closure of the A5 through Ogwen Valley.
