Taylor Swift Super Bowl Halftime Show Speculation Explained

Taylor Swift Super Bowl Halftime Show Speculation Explained

Buzz Feed2 hours ago
With the announcement of her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, Taylor Swift has given people plenty to talk about. And amid all the exciting content, fans think she could be hinting at another big surprise to come…
Whether fans of the sport like it or not, Taylor has developed a connection with the NFL in the past few years since she started dating Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce. And now, people think the Grammy winner might be taking to the field herself to play the Super Bowl Halftime Show in 2026 — a career milestone she has yet to add to her résumé.
Last week, Taylor appeared on Travis and Jason Kelce's New Heights podcast and made a number of comments that could be hinting towards the halftime show — and it all starts with a conversation about sourdough.
Taylor chatted about how baking sourdough bread has 'taken over [her] life in a huge way,' and said that she's talking about bread '60% of the time now.' 'It's become a huge, huge factor...I'm just, like, always baking bread and texting my friends and being like, 'Can I send you some bread? I need some feedback. Do you like this one better than you liked the other one? Like, I did the rise a little differently,'' she said.
Now, a number of clues might suggest she's not actually talking about bread here, but something much bigger. For starters, Swifties have pointed out that the 2026 Super Bowl will be taking place at the San Francisco 49ers' Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara — and the team's mascot is a bearded gold miner by the name of Sourdough Sam. Not only that, Taylor's mention of the number 60 may have some significance, too, in light of the fact that this is the 60th Super Bowl.
If that evidence wasn't compelling enough, Taylor also made an oddly specific reference to the number 47 when she thanked Jason for 'screaming for, like, 47 seconds' at the start of the episode. It has since been uncovered that Taylor's 47th stop on the Eras Tour in 2023 was at — you guessed it — Santa Clara's Levi's Stadium.
On top of this, Levi's appears to be leaning into the speculation, too. Last week, the brand posted a TikTok showing someone swapping out the iconic red Levi's tag on a pair of jeans for an orange glittery tag. For context, orange glitter is part of the color theme for Taylor's Showgirl era, and Levi's captioned the post: 'subtle swap for the big day.' What 'big day' could that be, I wonder?
So, we all know Taylor loves an Easter egg or two, and I'm not usually one to buy into the speculation, but I have to say, I think the sleuths might be onto something here.
I mean, she announced her new album on a sports podcast and even made a pointed callout to bitter male football fans to make it clear she's not going anywhere anytime soon. Also, off the back of the Eras Tour success and the subsequent reclaiming of her masters, now feels like the perfect time for her to tick the Super Bowl Halftime Show off her to-do list. Besides, nothing says Showgirl like performing on one of the world's biggest stages.
In the past few years, the halftime show headliner has been announced in September, so it's possible we may not have long to wait before we figure out if Taylor is really cooking up sourdough or maybe something bigger.
In the meantime, our eyes will be peeled for more clues. Do you think a Taylor Super Bowl is on the cards next year? LMK in the comments.

Report: Browns ink WR to fully guaranteed deal

Cleveland Browns general manager Andrew Berry is always on the hunt for players to add to the roster, especially as the days dwindle to the start of the NFL season. That is especially true at wide receiver, where the Browns have one established player in Jerry Jeudy, a promising player in Cedric Tillman, a redemption project in Diontae Johnson, and some hopefuls in Jamari Thrash and Gage Larvadain. Berry added another player to the group this morning with the reported signing of wide receiver Isaiah Bond, who the Browns inked to a three-year fully guaranteed contract worth just north of $3 million, according to Mary Kay Cabot at Bond was originally projected to be a Day Two selection in the 2025 NFL Draft, but went undrafted after facing sexual assault allegations. Late last week, those charges were 'no-billed' by a grand jury in Texas, and he no longer faces further charges. That opened the door for the Browns to add the speedy Bond to a wide receiver room that has opportunities for another playmaker. Bond spent two seasons at Alabama before transferring to Texas in 2025. In his one season with the Longhorns, Bond had 34 receptions for 540 receiving yards and five touchdowns while averaging 15.9 yards per reception. For his collegiate career, he appeared in 41 games and finished with 99 receptions for 1,428 yards, 14.4 yards per catch, and 10 receiving touchdowns. Those numbers may not look impressive at first glance, but there are reports that Bond adjusted his game to fit into the Longhorns' offensive system, which would explain his lower production with Texas. Cleveland offensive coordinator Tommy Rees is familiar with Bond after working with him at Alabama in 2023, so that should help the Browns determine how best to incorporate Bond into the offense. There is not much time left for Bond to get up to speed, as the Browns will have just a handful of practices this week, then the final game of the preseason on Saturday against the Los Angeles Rams, before they have to make cuts to build the initial 53-man roster by August 26 at 4 p.m. But given that Bond's contract is fully guaranteed, he may have already earned a roster spot.

Browns sign undrafted receiver Isaiah Bond to 3-year deal after he wasn't charged in sexual-assault case

The Cleveland Browns reportedly signed receiver Isaiah Bond to a three-year, $3 million deal Monday after he was not charged as part of a sexual-assault investigation. Bond, 21, was expected to be a mid-round pick in 2025 NFL Draft, but went undrafted after being arrested on a sexual-assault charge just two weeks before the draft. Details regarding Bond's arrest were scarce, and Bond claimed the accusations against him were untrue. Bond turned himself in and was able to post $25,000 bail following the arrest. With his legal situation unresolved, Bond went undrafted and failed to catch on with a team as training camps opened. But his situation changed Thursday. Bond was "no-billed" by a grand jury in Texas, meaning there was not enough evidence to charge Bond. Shortly after he was no-billed, Bond announced he was signing with the Browns. The team responded to that statement saying they were "doing their diligence" and that a deal would not be signed Thursday. Bond flashed big-play potential in two seasons at Alabama before transferring to Texas ahead of the 2024 season. Bond didn't rack up elite reception numbers, snagging just 34 balls during his junior season. But he gained 540 yards and scored five touchdowns with those catches. Bond talked up his elite speed ahead of the 2025 NFL Combine, and while he didn't break the 40-yard dash record, he turned in a solid 4.39-second performance. That likely would have been enough to get him drafted in the middle of the draft if not for his arrest. Now that he's reportedly under contract, Bond will need to get caught up with the Browns after missing a large chunk of training camp. He's unlikely to make an impact early in the season due to his late start, but will look to work his way up a shaky Browns depth chart once he's fully integrated into the team's system.

Updated 53-man roster prediction following Ravens' preseason win over the Cowboys

Baltimore defeated Dallas 31-13 in the second preseason game, and we're looking at an updated 53-man roster prediction with a few changes and some surprises Don't look now, but a deep Ravens roster is 2-0 in the preseason despite Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry not taking a single snap on offense. After a shaky start that included a pick six, Cooper Rush settled down, the Ravens' rushing attack was solid, and Zach Orr's ever-improving defense found dominance from key rookies and select veterans as Baltimore dominated Dallas, 31-13 at AT&T Stadium on Saturday night. Talented rookie Tyler Loop kicked five field goals, and running back D'Ernest Johnson ran for a 2-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter for the Ravens (2-0) as Baltimore beat Dallas in a preseason game on Saturday night. The 53-man roster deadline in the NFL is Tuesday, August 27, at 4 p.m. ET. This is the date and time by which all 32 NFL teams must reduce their active rosters to 53 players. This is a loaded roster with few holes or opportunities to steal a starting spot or carve out a key role on offense or defense. With the Ravens set to begin preparation for the Commanders, we're releasing another 53-man roster prediction with a few surprises. Random note: The Baltimore Ravens have granted outside linebacker David Ojabo an international roster exemption, opening up a spot for an extra player this offseason. According to "a qualifying international player is a person whose citizenship and principal place of residence are outside the United States and Canada, and who has a maximum of two years of United States high school experience." Ojabo, a 2022 second-round pick out of Michigan by the Ravens, was born in Nigeria but moved to Scotland in 2007. At 17, he moved to the United States and played basketball at Blair Academy in Blairstown, New Jersey. Soon after, he switched to football and became teammates with Baltimore outside linebacker Odafe Oweh. Ojabo now enters a pivotal fourth season in the NFL, and while he will not count against a roster spot for now, he will still count on the 53-man roster once the season starts. QB: 2 Lamar Jackson Cooper Rush Lamar Jackson is an MVP candidate. Cooper Rush looked much better against Dallas and is still among the NFL's most reliable backups. Baltimore could eventually look to bring in a third quarterback. RB: 5 Derrick Henry Justice Hill Keaton Mitchell Rasheen Ali Pat Ricard Baltimore has a solid four at running back, and Rasheen Ali made it difficult for the Ravens to release him, with John Harbaugh all but guaranteeing his roster spot. WR: 6 Zay Flowers DeAndre Hopkins Rashod Bateman LaJohntay Wester Devontez Walker Tylan Wallace The final six spots at wide receiver will look similar, with DeAndre Hopkins replacing Nelson Agholor, and LaJohntay Wester being added via the NFL draft. The Ravens drafted LaJohntay Wester and will look for Devontez Walker to take the next steps. TE: 3 Mark Andrews Isaiah Likely Charlie Kolar Baltimore goes chalk at tight end, bringing back its top three players from 2024, all of whom have expiring contracts. Likely's foot injury could make way for a different scenario if he's placed on injured reserve following the 53-man roster deadline. That would ensure Likely misses the first four games. OL: 9 Tyler Linderbaum Daniel Faalele Andrew Vorhees Roger Rosengarten Ronnie Stanley Joe Noteboom Garrett Dellinger (Drafted Rookie) Corey Bullock Carson Vinson (Drafted Rookie) We have Andrew Vorhees winning the left guard job, and Ben Cleveland as the odd man out of a group that's improved since last season. DL: 5 Justin Madubuike Broderick Washington Aeneas Peebles (Drafted Rookie) John Jenkins Travis Jones With Michael Pierce retired, Travis Jones has an opportunity for a breakout season. Edge Rusher: 5 Mike Green David Ojabo -- International Roster Exemption Odafe Oweh Kyle Van Noy Tavius Robinson Ojabo has had a solid summer regardless of the roster exemption, while Tavius Robinson looks to make a big jump. Adisa Isaac misses out on a roster spot following a dislocated elbow suffered in the win over Dallas. LB: 4 Roquan Smith Trenton Simpson Jay Higgins Teddye Buchanan (Draft Pick) Jake Hummel was signed for his special teams play, but undrafted rookie Jay Higgins IV has made a strong push to make the roster following an All-American career at Iowa. CB: 6 Nate Wiggins Jaire Alexander Chidobe Awuzie T.J. Tampa Marlon Humphrey Jalyn Armour-Davis Jayln Armour-Davis benefits from the Bilhal Kone and Robert Longerbeam injuries, and undrafted rookie cornerback Keyon Martin is making a strong case with one preseason game remaining. Safety: 5 Sanoussi Kane Beau Brade Malaki Starks Kyle Hamilton Reuben Lowery Lowery is a Swiss Army Knife and a player who has impressed head coach John Harbaugh, notably with his diving end zone interception against Dallas. Specialst: 3 Tyler Loop Jordan Stout Nick Moore Harbaugh announced after the Cowboys game that Loop had officially won the job to be the team's next kicker. In two preseason games, Loop has made 6 of 8 field goal attempts, and multiple from over 50 yards out.
