Bahrain Builds Crypto Hub
As Bitcoin rebounds globally, Bahrain is quietly building its own digital gold rush.
Supported by progressive regulation and hightech infrastructure, the Kingdom is emerging as a serious contender in the global cryptocurrency mining market, and one Bahraini firm says it is only the beginning.
Rising global role
Crypto Miners, a company specialising in the sale, installation, and maintenance of mining equipment, says the sector's growing momentum within Bahrain is helping reinforce the Kingdom's position as a competitive regional hub with global potential.
The company believes this development is also drawing more foreign direct investment into Bahrain's digital economy.
'Bahrain's financial ecosystem and regulatory clarity give us the ability to grow sustainably and export our services abroad,' said Wassim Saaduddin, Technical Sales Manager at Crypto Miners.
He added that the Kingdom is uniquely placed to serve as a launchpad for international crypto operations, thanks to its policy stability and infrastructure.
Infrastructure and awareness
At the core of Crypto Miners' strategy is a vision to localise this high-tech industry, building critical infrastructure , training Bahraini talent , and supporting knowledge transfer.
The company also sees awareness as essential to sustainable sector growth, and says it actively runs public engagement campaigns to help familiarise Bahrainis with digital currencies and blockchain.

Bahraini Hajj Campaigns Plan 20% Price Hike for 2026 Season
Several Bahraini Hajj campaigns have confirmed to Al-Ayam their intention to increase the prices of their packages for the upcoming 1447H (2026) season by up to 20%. The move comes after many campaigns faced financial losses last year due to rising operational costs and unexpected expenses shortly before the season began. Campaign organizers, who requested to remain anonymous, explained that most of the new costs are linked to services in the Arafat and Mina areas. In particular, new requirements for pilgrims' tents have led to higher preparation costs. The expected price increase for packages is between 200 and 250 Bahraini dinars, roughly 15–20%, with most campaigns choosing this approach to avoid future losses. Sources also revealed that a meeting between Hajj campaigns and the Supreme Committee for Hajj and Umrah Affairs at the Ministry of Justice and Islamic Affairs is expected within the next two weeks to discuss arrangements for the new season. According to the Supreme Committee, 67 applications have been received from Bahraini Hajj campaigns wishing to operate during the next season, following the closure of submissions on August 1. Dr. Ali Amin Al-Rais, Director of the Religious Affairs Department at the Ministry and Assistant Deputy Head of Bahrain's Hajj Mission, explained that the ministry will soon issue guidelines for announcing campaign packages, services, and prices to ensure accurate and effective evaluations. Al-Rais emphasized that campaigns will only be allowed to advertise their packages and prices after receiving official approval and having their profiles certified. Individual promotional exhibitions for each campaign are permitted, provided they align with the approved profile published on the official website. The new guidelines will also include additional rules to enhance transparency, including prohibiting free Hajj offers or competitions promising Hajj trips. Al-Rais stressed that the goal is to improve credibility and provide clear information to pilgrims before signing contracts.

Seven in ten Bahraini workers are under 40
A youthful workforce continues to shape Bahrain's labour market, with seven in ten Bahraini employees under 40 in the first quarter of 2025, new government data reveal. Across the public and private sectors, 155,596 Bahrainis were in employment, of whom 107,963 were under 40. The public sector employed 51,138 Bahrainis, with 30,470 under 40, accounting for 60%. The private sector, by contrast, counted 104,458 workers, including 77,493 under 40, or 74.1% of its workforce. The largest age group among employees was 30 to 39, representi n g 41%, fol - lowed by those aged 20 to 29 at 28%. Only 1,140 insured Bahrainis were under 20, or 0.7% of the total. In terms of gender, men made up 58% of the workforce (89,886), while women accounted for 42% (65,710). Among older age groups, 34,055 Bahrainis were aged 40 to 49 (22%), and 11,583 were 50 to 59 (7%). The data highlight the strong presence of younger Bahrainis, particularly in the private sector, reflecting a workforce increasingly dominated by early and mid-career professionals.

Bahrain Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka among top global attractions
TDT | Tokyo Four months after opening at Expo 2025 Osaka, the Bahrain Pavilion, themed 'Connecting Seas', continues to showcase the Kingdom's cultural and civilisational heritage in Japan, blending tradition with innovation and welcoming visitors from around the world. Recognised by global architectural platform ArchDaily as one of the top ten must visit pavilions, it offers an immersive journey combining sensory exhibits, architecture inspired by Bahrain's maritime history and Japanese woodworking, a café blending Bahraini and Japanese flavours, an economic showcase of the Kingdom's future, and a heritage themed gift shop. Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) and Commissioner General of the pavilion, said the participation reflects Bahrain's vision to enhance its cultural and economic presence globally. He noted preparations are under way for Bahrain's National Day at the expo in September to highlight the Kingdom's maritime heritage, artistic creativity, and cultural and economic resilience. Located in the 'Empowering Lives' zone, the 995-square-metre pavilion stands four storeys high with sea views. Designed by Lina Ghotmeh, it is built mainly from wood and cooled naturally by sea breezes, making it one of the most sustainable structures at the expo. The multi sensory exhibition, curated with artists and institutions including Shepherd Studio, Sissel Tolaas, Hassan Hujairi, and La Méduse, explores themes of trade, crafts, industry, pearls, and the environment. The café, led by award winning Bahraini chef Tala Bashmi, serves seasonal menus fusing Bahraini and Japanese ingredients. Staff and volunteers wear designs by Lulwa Al Amin, featuring coastal inspired prints and embroidery. Expo 2025 Osaka runs until October 13. Bahrain's National Day at the pavilion will be celebrated on September 18.
