THE Vauxhall Mokka is now four years old. Which means it's time for a facelift.
Most mass-produced cars are renewed every seven or eight years as a rule, with a subtle nip-and-tuck halfway through.

It keeps them fresh.
The idea being, 'Your current PCP deal is about to end, Mr Walker, so how about we put you in a better car for the same monthly price?'
Many people do.
So let's discuss the upgraded Mokka crossover, basically a Corsa on stilts.
Mokka was actually the first Vauxhall to wear the black visor – think motorcycle helmet visor – that integrates the headlights, Griffin badge and sensors into one element. Every model has it now.
The new-for-2025 Mokka has reworked LED lights front and back with three blocks on the outer edges. First seen on the new Frontera.

The seat fabrics are made from 100 per cent recycled materials, if that's important to you.
The poshest Ultimate trim has a massage function.
The most significant update is under the hood.
The 100hp 1.2-litre turbo petrol has been axed.
So the 136hp version is now your starting point at £26k.
I'd point you towards the new £28k Hybrid which adds a 28hp e-motor and 48-volt technology to improve performance and efficiency.
Tempting EV drivers
Another 8mpg over the regular petrol. So quite significant.
The auto gearbox is smooth and easy and feels like a cheat code in town.
Not great at parking?
The new HD rear-view camera has got your back.
Vauxhall is working hard to tempt drivers to switch to electric and Mokka E is now £4k cheaper, starting at £33k.
Mind you, it needed a price cut with the battery-powered Ford Puma finally entering the ring at similar money.

But I do have a complaint.
The boot button.
Are you kidding me?
Some muppet positioned it down low in the number plate recess which always gets mucky.
Which means your fingers always get mucky.
That needs fixing when Mokka is completely overhauled in another three years' time.

Perth road closed after car lands on roof

A road in Perth has been closed after a car landed on its roof. Glengarry Road has been taped off and police officers remain at the scene after a white Vauxhall Mokka flipped onto its roof. The crash happened just before 8pm. A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: 'We received the call at 7.56pm to assist police with a crash. 'One appliance was dispatched from Perth Fire Station. 'We made the vehicle safe before the stop message came at 8.18pm.' A resident on Glengarry Road added: 'I didn't see the crash but my security cameras on the house captured it in picture frames. 'It happened just before 8pm. 'You can see the skid marks on the road too. 'We have no clue how it landed on its roof.' It is not yet known if anyone was injured in the crash. Britain's most popular car brand to bring back ‘favourite' model with a retro twist

New electric SUV may be launched in the near future BACK FROM THE DEAD Britain's most popular car brand to bring back 'favourite' model with a retro twist Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Popular car brand Volkswagen are looking to offer a new practical alternative to SUVs with qualities similar to the iconic microbus. The German brand is considering launching an electric, compact multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) to replace the well-loved Touran model, which could be launched as soon as 2027. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up MPVs are renowned for their space, practicality and people carrying, making them the ideal family car. According to Autocar, the new vehicle would be positioned beneath the 'ID Buzz,' offering a smaller footprint, a lighter weight, and a more affordable price. It is these features that have led to the car being likened to a modern-day microbus. The microbus was first introduced in 1950 and went on to have an iconic history, becoming synonymous with hippie culture. The design direction of the new model is still under wraps although it is expected to be influenced by the likes of the 2011 Bulli and 2016 Budd-e. This new take on the classic Microbus type 2 is reportedly aimed at families looking for a 'no-nonsense, high-utility electric vehicle with sliding rear doors and strong day-to-day usability.' It is rumoured that this new model is under internal review, with a production decision yet to be officially made. Reportedly, Volkswagen recently retrieved various MPV concepts from storage to support these internal discussions and explore how their design could be adapted for a new model. Autocar added: 'This move reflects a broader shift in thinking in Volkswagen's Wolfsburg headquarters in Germany, where there is renewed recognition that a dedicated family-focused MPV may still have commercial relevance.' This model would rival popular electric SUV models like the Skoda Elroq, The Volvo EX30 and the Tesla Model Y. 2026 Genesis GV70, No old ideas The design direction of the car is also yet to be revealed, although buyers can expect an upright silhouette, short overhangs, a flat floor and a high roof line. All of these considerations have been made with the aim of making the car as spacious as possible. Launched in 2003, the Touran model is one of the most successful European models of its type with 2.6 million units sold globally. However, it could soon be replaced with this new model. It is reported that if given the green light, the new model could be released as soon as 2027 or 2028. This has the potential to revive the Touran badge in line with Volkswagen's plan to provide future EVs with traditional names instead of the ID numbers used today.'
