Epstein accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell moved to minimum security Texas prison
No reason was given for the move but it comes a week after a top Justice Department official met with Maxwell to ask her questions about Epstein, who died in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting trial for sex trafficking underage girls.
"We can confirm Ghislaine Maxwell is in the custody of the Federal Bureau of Prisons at the Federal Prison Camp (FPC) Bryan in Bryan, Texas," a Bureau of Prisons spokesman said.
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, President Donald Trump's former personal lawyer, interviewed Maxwell for two days at a Florida courthouse last week in a highly unusual meeting between a convicted felon and high-ranking Justice official.
Blanche has declined so far to say what was discussed but Maxwell's lawyer, David Markus, said she answered every question she was asked.
Maxwell has offered to testify before Congress about Epstein if given immunity and has also reportedly been seeking a pardon from Trump, a one-time close friend of Epstein.
The former British socialite is serving a 20-year sentence after being convicted in 2021 of recruiting underage girls for Epstein.
According to the Bureau of Prisons, the Texas prison where Maxwell is now incarcerated houses 635 female inmates and is a minimum security facility.
Trump is facing mounting demands from Democrats and many of his supporters to be more transparent about the case of the wealthy and well-connected Epstein.
Trump's conspiracy-minded supporters have been obsessed with the Epstein case for years and have been up in arms since the FBI and Justice Department said last month that Epstein had committed suicide while in jail, did not blackmail any prominent figures, and did not keep a "client list."
The president raised further questions this week as he told reporters he fell out with Epstein after the financier "stole" female employees from the spa at Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.
One of those girls was Virginia Giuffre, who accused Epstein of using her as a sex slave and committed suicide at her home in Australia in April.
Giuffre's family issued a statement this week appealing to Trump not to consider pardoning Maxwell, who they called a 'monster who deserves to rot in prison for the rest of her life.'

Donald Trump aide Steve Bannon says: No H1-B visas, tell them, You get ....
President Donald Trump's aide and former adviser Steve Bannon has been a vocal critic of the H-1B visa programme. He has slammed H-1B visa holders on numerous occasions. In a recent podcast, Bannon said that America does not need any foreign students and that they should not be given more than 30 days to stay in America after the completion of their degree. He then went on to add that an Exit Visa should be stapled to their passports. The H-1B visa program allows American companies to hire foreign workers for specialty occupations and is used dominantly by the tech companies. "I don't think you should have any foreign students in the country right now. No H1B visas. Instead of stapling a green card to their diploma, staple an exit visa. You get 30 days to hang out with classmates, do alumni stuff, then leave. The countries of the world won't get better if you're sucking up every piece of talent. That's how the British ran their empire. It's imperial," wrote Bannon. Late last month during another podcast, Bannon said that the US needs to cut all Visa programmes: "We need to cut all visa programs. If you need an Einstein, there's always a way to get one in. But I'm also a big advocate of sending those Einsteins home and having them make their countries great again. That's how you get peace and prosperity worldwide." "Well, wait a second," Vance said, explaining his thought process. "If you're not hiring American workers coming out of colleges for these jobs, then how can you say that you have a massive shortage in these jobs? "And by the way, you see some Big Tech companies where they'll lay off 9,000 workers, and then they'll apply for a bunch of overseas visas," he added. His comments are said to be referencing Microsoft that announced 9,000 layoffs at the beginning of July amid reports that the company had applied for 9,000-plus H1-B visas. Steve Bannon asked Donald Trump to revisit H-1B visa law enacted in 1990 In December 2024, Steve Bannon called the H-1B visa programme a "a total and complete scam to destroy the American worker" and demanded "reparations for tech workers." He even went on to target Tesla CEO Elon Musk for his support of it. He also claimed that the program allows tech companies to import cheap labor while undermining the talented US workers. "A For Akhilesh": Samajwadi Party Leader Faces Case For Teaching "Politicised Alphabets"
Saharanpur (UP): A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against a local Samajwadi Party leader in Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur for allegedly teaching "politicised alphabets" to children. SP president Akhilesh Yadav attacked the state government over the FIR. According to SP City Vyom Bindal, a complaint was filed by Main Singh, a resident of the Kallarpur Gurjar village, alleging that local SP leader Farhad Alam Gada was teaching children "politicised alphabets" at a "PDA Pathshala." The complainant says that the children were taught "A for Akhilesh", "B for Babasaheb", "D for Dimple," and "M for Mulayam Singh Yadav". The incident came to light after an alleged video of the lesson, recorded at the SP leader's home in Ramnagar, was posted on social media and went viral. The children in the video were reportedly from a private school and were seen wearing their uniforms. Reacting to the development, former chief minister Akhilesh Yadav posted on 'X', "Even the British did not file an FIR for studying. The anti-education face of the BJP has now been exposed to the public. Now the BJP will be gone forever. Condemnable." — Akhilesh Yadav (@yadavakhilesh) August 3, 2025 In his defence, Farhad Gada had previously claimed that the "PDA Pathshala" was not just for teaching ABCs but also to educate children about the "great men of Samajwadi ideology." He had also stated his intention to open similar schools across the district.

Julian Assange Joins Massive Pro-Palestine Protest On Sydney Harbour Bridge
Tens of thousands of pro-Palestinian protesters, including WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, marched across the Sydney Harbour Bridge on Sunday, closing the world-famous landmark. Assange, who returned to Australia last year after his release from a high-security British prison, was pictured surrounded by family and marching alongside former Australian foreign minister and New South Wales premier Bob Carr. France, Britain and Canada have in recent weeks voiced, in some cases qualified, intentions to diplomatically recognise a Palestinian state, as international concern and criticism have grown over malnutrition in Gaza. Australia has called for an end to the war in Gaza but has so far stopped short of a decision to recognise a Palestinian state. But in a joint statement with more than a dozen other nations on Tuesday it expressed the "willingness or the positive consideration... to recognise the state of Palestine as an essential step towards the two-State solution". The pro-Palestinian crowd braved heavy winds and rain to march across the bridge, chanting "ceasefire now" and "free Palestine". New South Wales police said it had deployed hundreds of extra staff across Sydney for the march. Mehreen Faruqi, the New South Wales senator for the left-wing Greens party, told the crowd gathered at central Sydney's Lang Park that the march would "make history". She called for the "harshest sanctions on Israel", accusing its forces of "massacring" Gazans, and criticised New South Wales Premier Chris Minns for saying the protest should not go ahead. Dozens of marchers held up banners listing the names of thousands of Palestinian children killed since the Gaza war broke out after an October 2023 attack by the Palestinian militant group Hamas. Labour backbench MP Ed Husic attended the march and called for his ruling party, led by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, to recognise a Palestinian state. Assange did not address the crowd or talk to the media. Israel is under mounting international pressure to end the bloodshed that has killed more than 60,000 Palestinians, according to Gaza's health ministry. Hamas's 2023 attack resulted in the deaths of 1,219 people, mostly civilians, according to a tally based on official figures. Of the 251 hostages taken during the attack, 49 are still being held in Gaza, including 27, the Israeli military says, are dead. The Harbour Bridge is over a kilometre long and was opened in 1932. Since then, its twin parabolic arcs have become world famous, a symbol of both Sydney and of Australia.
