"I actually played with him at Gujarat, and I think one of the first wickets he got was caught somewhere. I was waiting for the Cristiano celebration. He said, 'Oh no, no, I only do it when I bowl someone out.'
"So that was the perfect finish for him—to hit the stumps and be able to unfurl his celebration," Buttler added.
Siraj had previously revealed the inspiration behind the celebration.
'I only do the
Cristiano Ronaldo
celebration when I clean bowl someone—not for a catch or LBW.
I do it because I like and admire him for his work ethic, the routine he follows, and the way he performs consistently. He always has a never-give-up attitude. Obviously, Ronaldo is the best—GOAT of all time," Siraj had said earlier.

But they had no answer to the enduring skill of fast bowler Siraj, who featured in all five games. He undid England on Monday with a brilliant burst of 3 for 9 in 25 balls, sealing the win by knocking over Gus Atkinson's off-stump.
"From the first day until the fifth Test, fifth day, we fought an unbelievable fight," said Siraj, who bowled a marathon 185.3 overs during the series.
"God must have written something good for me, that's why I won this match and took the last wicket.
"When I woke up today, I thought I could do it. I downloaded a picture from Google that said 'believe'."

'Saying he'll only play three Tests was unnecessary' – Former India wicketkeeper on India's handling of Jasprit Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah of India (Photo by) Former India wicketkeeper-batter Deep Dasgupta has criticized the Indian cricket team's decision to announce Jasprit Bumrah 's limited availability of three Tests before the recent Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy series in England, which ended in a 2-2 draw. Dasgupta believes this pre-series announcement was unnecessary and the team could have made decisions based on physical conditions and series scenarios. Bumrah participated in three Tests during the series - the first Test at Headingley, Leeds, followed by matches at Lord's and Old Trafford, Manchester. He secured 14 wickets, including two five-wicket hauls, bowling 119.4 overs at an average of 26. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! The fast bowler was not included in the playing eleven for the fifth Test at The Oval and was released from the squad before day two's play. "Well, I think India shouldn't have announced the fact that he would be playing only three Test matches prior to departing for the series. I mean, you can always take a call on his availability as and when based on his physical situation and series scenario. But this thing of saying that he will be playing only three Test matches before the series has started, I think India could have avoided it," Dasgupta told IANS. Inside The Oval: An Exclusive Tour of the Stadium Where India Played the Final Test Dasgupta questioned India's approach to managing Bumrah's workload, which involves giving him adequate rest and playing him in crucial matches. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Brain tumor has left my son feeling miserable; please help! Donate For Health Donate Now Undo "It depends on obviously him and the medical staff. But how I see it is, he's the best bowler in the world across three formats. So, you want him for all the crucial games. But then once he's available for the crucial ones, then I guess it can't be at the start of a tournament, that I'm going to play only 40% or 60% of the games - that can't happen." Poll Do you agree with Deep Dasgupta's criticism of India's announcement regarding Bumrah's limited availability? Yes, it was unnecessary. No, it was a strategic decision. "I mean, keep him ready for the crucial ones, and make sure he's available for all games. Then obviously, if there are injuries, if the body has taken a toll and he's not ready, that's a different issue altogether. But this availability for 50%, 60%, and all, I think that needs to be looked into because he is by far the best bowler in the world right now," he added. In Bumrah's absence at The Oval, Prasidh Krishna stepped up with impressive performance, taking four wickets in each innings for a match total of 8-188. Despite facing criticism on social media for underwhelming performances in the first two Tests at Headingley and Edgbaston, Krishna finished the series strongly with his performance at The Oval. "With Prasidh, he's a quality bowler. I mean, his release is the best in this Indian team in terms of his backspin and seam position, and skill-wise, he's right up there. Only thing is, obviously, over the years, even though he made his first-class debut a long time ago, because of injuries and all, he hasn't really played a lot of cricket and never got into a rhythm." "He would play a Test match or two, and then get injured. But then, also in the first few Test matches, I don't think he was used well. By the time the last Test came, he got some rhythm and bowled the way he generally bowls. So a lot of credit to him, and I hope this gives him a lot of confidence and he plays a lot because, again, he's found his rhythm. I hope he goes back to India and keeps bowling in future matches," Dasgupta concluded. The decision to manage Bumrah's workload came after he suffered a back injury in the Sydney Test against Australia in January this year, as explained by chief selector Ajit Agarkar and head coach Gautam Gambhir before the team's departure for England. Shubman Gill doesn't need Jasprit Bumrah, India can win Tests without him: Panesar

Former England spinner Monty Panesar has made a big statement days after the conclusion of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy that India can win Test matches without Jasprit Bumrah. Panesar praised India's performance and discussed the changes in the team under young captain Shubman former spinner was impressed by Gill's captaincy, highlighting that India's ability to win Test matches without their premier fast bowler, Jasprit Bumrah, is a notable achievement. Mohammed Siraj rose to the occasion in the fifth Test at the Oval in Bumrah's absence and bowled a match-winning spell to script a thrilling six-run victory for biggest factor, as for Shubman here, is that he can win Test matches without Jasprit Bumrah. That's a massive acclaim. The best bowler in the world. He doesn't need him. I think India can win Test matches without Jasprit Bumrah. I think that's the biggest achievement from his captaincy,' Panesar told Hindustan Times. Panesar also suggested that Jasprit Bumrah should be used more selectively, primarily for overseas Test matches where his impact is most important.'I think it's good if he does play the overseas Test matches, and probably you don't need him for home Test matches. India can beat any team at home probably without him, but for overseas Tests, he is the X-factor. They can probably tell him that we no longer need you for home Tests. But for the away Tests, we definitely do,' he is key to India's success: PanesarPanesar also had high praise for Siraj, who played all five Tests and bowled over 180 overs in tough bowling conditions. He stressed on the importance of his fitness. He pointed out that while Bumrah has the X-factor, Siraj's consistency and ability to bowl long spells makes him crucial for India's success, especially in overseas series.'Well, it just shows that Mohammed Siraj is the key now. They've got to build an attack around him. And his fitness is very important. Jasprit Bumrah doesn't have the fitness to play the five Test matches. So, he's again, in and out, kind of the guy to come in. But Mohammed Siraj can win the games now. As Bumrah has the X-factor, Mohammed Siraj is the key to whether they have a series win or not. So, for an overseas series away from India, Mohammed Siraj is very important now for Gautam Gambhir and Shubman Gill,' said after his match-winning performance at the Oval, there is massive scrutiny about Siraj's workload. Experts have suggest that his workload should also be managed as he played all 5 Test matches against England. He will likely next feature in the West Indies home series in October later this year.- Ends
