MAFS star Ryan Donnelly ‘hopeful' AVO matter will resolve
Mr Donnelly was initially coupled with Ms Burfoot on the popular Aussie TV program.
The pair shared a tumultuous on-screen relationship that Ms Burfoot ultimately chose to walk away from.
In the program's Final Vows segment, she said 'Ryan, in a world of red flags, you are the red carpet', to which Mr Donnelly responded 'Be gone with you, you horrible woman'.
Mr Donnelly has applied for an AVO, but it has not been granted at this stage.
He arrived at Campbelltown Local Court on Tuesday sporting a slick black suit and white collared shirt.
In court, Mr Donnelly's solicitor Daniel Wakim and Ms Burfoot's barrister Marcia Edwards agreed upon a mediation date in September.
'What we propose is to book in for a contested hearing early next year at the next available date,' Ms Edwards told the court.
'We hope to vacate that if mediation is successful.'
The matter was adjourned till January next year, unless the mediation in September is successful.
Mr Donnelly and Mr Wakim spoke with NewsWire outside court on Tuesday.
'Look I think … we've just gotten a hearing date set, and I think we're all on the same page in relation to taking the matter to mediation and we're hopeful to see how that turns out,' Mr Wakim said.
Mr Donnelly previously alleged outside court that Ms Burfoot had attempted to 'destroy' his life.

Elderly man charged with murder after woman's stabbing
An elderly man has been charged with the murder of a woman, while another man in his 20s is fighting for life following separate overnight stabbing attacks across two states. Police said a second man of similar age was found nearby with a wound to his arm. He was also transported to Westmead. It is understood the pair and others at the address were known to each other. The Coleraine incident comes days after an Australia-first knife ban targeting young offenders. Victorian parents were urged on Thursday to hand in their children's machetes and knives at police amnesty posts. A total of 45 stations across the state will host disposal bins set up for the three-month initiative.
