2026 Hyundai Ioniq 6 N to Offer à la Carte OEM Performance Parts
The list of available parts includes carbon-fiber replacements for the front splitter, side skirts, rear diffuser, rear wing, and underbody aero.
There's also a set of 20-inch forged wheels that Hyundai claims will shave about 11.6 pounds of unsprung mass versus the stock rollers.
There's no rest for the wicked, and while we haven't driven it yet, we're certain the 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 6 N is wicked. So, knowing its fans would be interested in modifying their new high-performance electric sedan, Hyundai launched a collection of performance parts engineered specifically for the Ioniq 6 N.

Most of the new performance parts are replacements for their production equivalents, but they use carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) to save weight. There's a new front splitter, new side skirts, and a more aggressive rear diffuser. There's also a new N-branded double-decklid rear wing to help keep the car stable at high speeds.
The carbon-fiber parts aren't just for lightweighting and showing off. The Ioniq 6 N's performance parts bin also gets a turning vane under the car to reduce lift and increase downforce, which lets the car turn in more sharply. Lastly, the available 20-inch forged wheels are claimed to weigh 29.2 pounds each, which Hyundai says is about 2.9 pounds less than a standard wheel. Together, that should help shave 11.6 pounds of unsprung mass from the performance-focused EV.

While we expect the Ioniq 6 N to start somewhere in the low-to-mid-$60,000 range, we're still waiting on official details about pricing and availability. With Hyundai having revealed the production-ready car, we shouldn't have to wait too long.

Japan says US trade deal eases tariff uncertainties, but risks remain
TOKYO (Reuters) -Japan said on Tuesday the trade agreement it struck with the U.S. cleared uncertainties on U.S. trade policies but continued attention needs to be given to risks of those policies putting downward pressure on the Japanese economy. Tokyo clinched a trade deal with Washington last week, lowering tariffs to 15% from a previously proposed 25%, including on autos, a mainstay of the export-reliant economy. In the Cabinet Office's monthly economic report for July, the government maintained an overall assessment that the Japanese economy is recovering "at a moderate pace," although effects from U.S. tariffs are seen in some areas including cars. "Regarding the tariff measures that had already been implemented, the export prices of automobiles to the U.S. have fallen significantly since April," a Cabinet Office official said at a press briefing. However, the official said there are no particular signs of change in export volumes, manufacturing price indexes or employment due to the tariffs. "We had been saying that there was a heightened risk of a downturn (in the Japanese economy) due to the impact of U.S. trade policy, but we don't think that is the case at this point," the official said, citing a slew of trade deals the U.S. had concluded with countries. "On the other hand, the risk of a downturn remains, so we need to keep an eye on that." Elsewhere in the report, the Cabinet Office downgraded its assessment of exports for the first time in a year, reflecting a slowdown in semiconductor manufacturing equipment exports to Taiwan and South Korea. The government also revised its language on domestic corporate goods prices for July. It said the pace of growth is "slowing down" recently, having in June said they were "gradually rising", attributing the change to the government's energy subsidies and slower growth in food prices. TOKYO (Reuters) -Japanese chip testing equipment maker Advantest raised on Tuesday its full-year operating profit forecast by 24% due to robust demand for semiconductors used in artificial intelligence. The Galaxy A17 5G is expected to be powered by an Exynos 1380, which trickles down from the Galaxy A54. $200 phones barely receive more than a couple of years of updates, but Samsung's Galaxy A16 5G is an outlier with a promised software support for six years. That is one of the reasons, in addition to Samsung's stronghold in offline retail, that makes this affordable phone a bestseller. In fact, the Galaxy A1x phones (where x is a numeral preceding '6') have consistently been the highest-selling Android devices by number of units, not just for Samsung but for the entire Android phone industry. The Galaxy A16 5G's successor has now leaked, signaling an upcoming launch and the likelihood of similar market popularity. Samsung's Galaxy A17 5G recently cropped up online in digital renders that reveal its design. Android Headlines, which leaked the phone, claims the Galaxy A17 5G will also receive a performance boost with a Samsung Exynos 1380 chipset, previously seen on the Galaxy A54. The RAM and storage variants remain unclear so far, but we expect it to feature up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, like the previous generation. A previous Geekbench listing (via @yabhishekhd on X) already confirmed a 6GB RAM option, but does not rule out Samsung stocking the base variant with a paltry 4GB of memory once again. We see fewer physical upgrades, with the Galaxy A17 5G featuring the same dimensions as last year. The leaked phone maintains the same overall design, including the bump on the side — which Samsung has christened a 'Key Island' — housing the power button-cum-fingerprint scanner and the volume button. The display comes with a U-shaped notch and a conspicuous chin at the bottom, and this is expected to be the same 6.7-inch 90Hz AMOLED as last year. Android Headlines There is, however, one change at the back in the form of an island-shaped camera assembly. This is seen on the Galaxy S25 Edge and is also rumored for the Galaxy S26 series launching next year. The change is crucial since Samsung does not waste time chewing over designs for its smartphones other than the Ultra, and Galaxy A17 5G's design could be replicated across Samsung's entire portfolio through the first half of 2026. Among other changes, we see two colors, including a light gray or silver and a darker shade of gray. Android Headlines also mentions Samsung could reuse the same camera setup as last generation, including 50MP primary, 5MP ultrawide, and 2MP macro cameras on the back. The 5,000mAh battery, with charging speeds up to 25W, remains unchanged as well. While the launch timeline of the Galaxy A17 5G remains unclear, it could follow the Galaxy A16 5G's schedule of an October launch.
