Ayden Heaven tells Man Utd to copy infamous tactic he saw Arsenal develop
Ayden Heaven says Manchester United need to copy Arsenal's ruthlessness when it comes to scoring from set-pieces.
The Gunners scored 22 goals from set-pieces in the Premier League last season on their way to finishing runners-up to champions Liverpool.
Defender Heaven joined United from Arsenal in January for £1.5million and says he wants to emulate the goalscoring exploits of former team-mates Gabriel and William Saliba.
'I watched them very closely, the likes of Saliba and Gabriel,' said Heaven. 'I learned a lot from them.
'You can see they're quite good in the air, aren't they, from corners. I've said in the past I want to score more, and I'm working on that. That's what I want to add to my game, scoring from set pieces.'
Heaven, 18, had a run of starts for United last season before an injury at Leicester sidelined him, although he returned towards the end of the campaign.
United boss Ruben Amorim has huge faith in the versatile centre-back and Heaven intends to make his mark in the upcoming season and stake his claim for a regular starting place.
'I just want to focus on the basics at the moment, and getting in the United team for the new season,' said Heaven.
'I'm really happy. I played in the last couple of games of the season, I've played more than I probably expected and I've done well in them.
'I was surprised at the amount of games I played, but I knew when I was going to play, I was going to make an impact.
'I can play in the middle, on the left, but the left probably more suits me more because of my ability with the ball.
'I can drive with the ball, I can overlap if I'm needed to and I can get forward more. That's one of my biggest strengths.'

Premier League fans will remember being wowed by Alli during seven years at Tottenham, where he once scored 18 Premier League goals in the 2016-17 season as Spurs finished second in the league. Tottenham's All or Nothing documentary on Amazon in the 2019-20 season shed a light on Alli's struggles behind the scenes, however, as former boss Jose Mourinho was filmed criticising his work ethic in training before telling the player he will "regret" not realising his true potential. Alli later gave a heartbreaking interview with Gary Neville in 2023 following his exit from Spurs, revealing his trauma as a child, including how he was sexually abused as a child. He said he struggled with his mental health throughout his career and had spent time in rehab following the end of his Besiktas loan due to an addiction to sleeping pills. During the interview, Alli said he had contemplated retiring at 24 when Mourinho was the manager after losing his hunger as a top level footballer. Callum Wilson agrees immediate Premier League transfer return as England striker joins Newcastle rivals
CALLUM WILSON has agreed to join West Ham on a one-year deal. The striker became a free agent this summer after his Newcastle contract expired. 1 There had been interest from newly-promoted Leeds and Everton. But according to The Athletic, Wilson has agreed to join West Ham. SunSport revealed last week how the Hammers had opened talks to sign the former England international. Wilson had also turned down a pay-as-you play deal at Newcastle, who decided against taking up an option to extend his deal this summer. Newcastle decided against triggering their one-year option on the forward which would have kept him on the same wage of about £45,000-a-week. The 33-year-old has long been admired at the London Stadium - has already completed a medical. His new deal is heavily performance incentive-based. Wilson scored 47 goals in 113 appearances for the Magpies, but has struggled with back and hamstring injuries during his time with the club. Meanwhile West Ham released both Danny Ings and Michail Antonio at the end of last season.

Newcastle make £70m Benjamin Sesko bid
Newcastle have made an official bid to sign RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko after boss Eddie Howe admitted the situation surrounding unsettled star Alexander Isak was 'far from ideal'. All eyes are on St James' Park right now as the Premier League club look to keep the Swedish sharpshooter while also attempting to bring in a big-name striker. Newcastle have accelerated talks with Leipzig to sign Sesko – who Manchester United also have in their sights – and submitted an offer reportedly worth up to £69.7m. The development comes after Newcastle rejected a £110m bid for Isak on Friday from Liverpool, who recently beat them to the signing of Frankfurt frontman Hugo Ekitike. 'I think from my situation, I am very much removed from everything that is happening back home,' Newcastle boss Howe said on Isak. 'I was made aware that there was a bid yesterday. That bid was turned down all before I even heard about it, so I think there's people back in England dealing with the situation. I really don't know what's going to happen next, but from our perspective we still support Alex in every way, and my wish is still that we see him in a Newcastle shirt again.' Isak did not travel to Asia for Newcastle's pre-season tour due to what the club called a 'minor thigh injury', only for talk of his unhappiness to emerge. Howe admitted 'you don't know what's going to happen from this point' and, surprisingly, that he found out that the 25-year-old was training with former club Real Sociedad through the media. 'I know where he is, really, through the media, so I think from that perspective it's difficult for me to go into any kind of detail,' the Newcastle boss said. 'The situation is far from ideal and it is quite complex. I think that's all I have got to say.' Howe was speaking at a press conference in Seoul previewing a friendly against Tottenham and was tight-lipped when quizzed on Newcastle's pursuit of Slovenia international Sesko. The manager said he 'can't talk about individual targets' in the wake of reports in the striker's homeland overnight claiming that the 22-year-old wants to move to St James' Park rather than Old Trafford. Newcastle have now reportedly made a €75m (£65.4m) bid to Leipzig, with a further €5m (£4.3m) in potential add-ons. Howe said: 'We are looking for the best players that we can get. Whatever our target position is, we're looking for the best, so I see all situations open and available to us. 'I feel that's the only way that we're going to get to where we want to go, which is to maximise, and it's quality over quantity. It always has been. That's always been the way that we try to work and try to recruit, and I think we've done it pretty well to this point. 'It's been a challenging summer, as you know, because we've missed out on various targets for loads of different reasons. But we're still very competitive and we're still in there trying to bring very good players to the club and that won't change until the window shuts.'
