After hiring an adoption specialist to help him out, an emotional reunion is finally within touching distance.
However, this three-year journey has started to unearth hidden fears and insecurities in Noel.
His many attempts to reach out and make contact in the past have been fruitless, leaving the 22 Kids and Counting star gutted.
Despite being the closest he has ever been to meeting his mother, this progress has come with a number of consequences, according to TV Zone.
While Sue was also adopted, she has no interest in meeting her parents, leading to fears from Noel that he risks alienating his family in Morecambe if he goes through with the meetup.
In the second special, the couple will drop everything to comfort some close friends in Scotland when their teenage daughter passes away.
But after years of trying to keep things together closer to home, they will have their work cut out for them when they try and help Jamie and Rebecca through their "worst nightmare".

ITV axes Noel Edmonds' big TV comeback after just one series despite huge launch
Noel Edmonds' Kiwi Adventure has reportedly been axed by ITV after just one series, despite the show marking the TV presenter's big comeback to British televisions ITV has reportedly axed Noel Edmonds' Kiwi Adventure after just one series. The show was the presenter's first proper return to TV since he took part in I'm A Me Out of Here! in 2018. The three-part series, which aired on ITV1 earlier this year, followed Noel, 76, and his wife Elizabeth Davies as they showed off their new life in New Zealand. Viewers watched the couple as they spoke about their interest in crystal healing and living a sustainable lifestyle. Despite the big comeback, ITV has reportedly decided to shelve Noel's show after just one series. It comes after Noel Edmonds breaks down as he makes emotional confession about his marriage. A spokesperson for ITV confirmed to the Daily Mail on Thursday: "There are no current plans for more new episodes but audiences can enjoy the show on ITVX." Meanwhile, a TV insider told The Sun that the cancellation is "a blow" to Noel, who thought that he was "on to a winning idea". They added: "There was a great buzz around the series and it was well received by both viewers and critics alike." The Mirror has reached out to ITV for comment. On the series, Noel opened up about the "dark times" he's faced in the past, explaining that his home features a sculpture called Guardian which is a permanent reminder of his production company unexpectedly going bankrupt. "There's a description of my story here, for guests to understand why I had Guardian created. My Unique group of companies was deliberately collapsed by some corrupt bankers," he said. "And I'm safe in saying that because my bank manager went to prison, along with four others, for 50. What they were doing was pushing businesses over the edge and then taking assets—that's basically what it was about. When the companies went into administration in 2006, I thought I was a crap businessman. I thought it was my fault. 70 people lost their jobs." Noel then revealed: "And I said to Liz, who was a fantastic support, 'When,' not if, When I win my battle to get my losses back, I'm gonna get the great Weta Studios, Lord of the Rings, Avatar, the real creative powerhouses here in New Zealand, I'm gonna ask them to build me a statue." The series also saw Noel propose to wife Liz for the fifth time, asking her: "Deal or no deal?" He said: "We've been married a lot. We got married in a civil ceremony in the Cotswolds, then we went to our home in France and an Anglican minister who I knew very well came over and he was going to bless us and he did the whole thing again. "So this became a bit of a joke with our friends. Oh yeah, we were filming on a cruise ship and the captain married us again. We've done four. But we want a Kiwi one. And there's a compelling reason why we should get married again, in New Zealand. We own a chapel. So why wouldn't we?'

EastEnders fans 'figure out' Ben Mitchell twist as pictures confirm return
With Ben Mitchell and Stuart Highway returning to EastEnders, as confirmed by the BBC soap with new spoilers and pictures, fans think they know some twists that may air Fans of EastEnders are convinced there's a twist coming amid Ben Mitchell's confirmed return to the BBC soap. Actor Max Bowden will reprise his role later this year for a short stint. He isn't alone though, as Stuart Highway, played by actor Ricky Champ, is also briefly returning to Walford. Both characters are returning for the funeral of Stuart and Callum Highway's father Jonno, spoilers have revealed. It comes as the soap confirmed a death was on the cards for Jonno, with cast filming for the funeral this week. Callum will be reunited with husband Ben amid his secret affair with Johnny Carter, with fans predicting it will all kick off. But that's not all they are predicting, with fans convinced the double return will lead to some big news or a huge plot. Viewers believe Ben's brief return could stem into a full-time comeback in one of three ways, amid him still being in prison in the US. While Max is only the reprising the role for a short stint this autumn, fans are convinced he could be back later on. Some fans wondered if Ben will be transferred to a prison in the UK, while some also think he might be released and will return to Walford. A third theory has seen fans guessing a dramatic twist at the funeral will see Ben escape and go on the run, potentially returning later down the line. The soap confirmed "a lot can happen in a short space of time" teasing drama when Ben is back onscreen. So will something huge happen? One fan predicted online: "I think if they are bring him back it is gonna include some type of escape plan." Another viewer said: "I did wonder given there's no guard with him in the pics if he might do a runner mid funeral lol." A third fan commented: "I do hope they don't go down the route of Ben planning some type of elaborate escape whilst at the funeral." As for the prison transfer, one fan said: "I think he gets transferred back to the UK." One fan echoed this saying: "I agree," as another wrote: "I was wondering this, it would be away to have him onscreen a bit more if he was to return full-time." Viewers also discussed the potential of a reunion for Ballum, the ship name fans created for Ben and Callum. A theory read: "The potential for Callum/Johnny's affair to get exposed, and Ben to ditch Callum for it, is pure soap. Plus whatever happens is just the set-up for when Ben gets released early next year and we get an eventual Ballum reunion. "Because that IS happening." Another fan replied: "Hoping it leads to Ben back full time and all is forgiven and Ballum reunite cos I don't see Callum and Johnny working." Liam and Noel take to the stage in Edinburgh on Friday, Saturday and Tuesday. The show will mark the brother's first performance together in Scotland in 15 years. Oasis last played in the country in June 2009, at the same venue as part of their Dig Out Your Soul tour - marking their last ever gig in Scotland before the band's split. To get fans excited ahead of their three dates in Scotland, Liam and Noel have both taken to their official Instagram accounts sharing various snaps and clips from previous gigs. One video that sparked excitement among Oasis fans is a nostalgic clip shared by Liam, showcasing the band performing across legendary Scottish venues including T in the Park, King Tut's, Balloch Castle Country Park and the SECC. The reel, which has already racked up thousands of likes on Instagram, features electrifying live footage with heartfelt commentary from both Gallagher brothers, along with an old news report capturing the wild energy and unforgettable atmosphere of their past Scottish shows. In the video, a younger Noel reflects on the band's relationship with Scottish crowds, saying: "There seems to be a bit of an edge to Scotland. I like the people, y'know. It's a nice place. Noel's segment finishes with a lighthearted jab, stating: "Still haven't got a clue what anyone says up there." A voiceover from an old news segment begins, describing the feverish atmosphere at a previous gig: "The fans have come from all over Scotland eager and excited at the prospect of a night to remember." The commentary in the video closes with a younger Liam declaring: "Scotland is a beautiful country, the people are magnificent. Get yourself up there. " The video ends with the iconic Oasis Live' 25 tour photo of Liam and Noel with "Scotland tomorrow," written on it. Fans have been quick to flock to the comments expressing their excitement for the gig's this weekend. One fan wrote: "SCOTLAND VIBES IN THE AREA. HERE WE GO," along with multiple love hearts and Scottish flags emojis. Another fan reflected on the last time they saw the Gallagher brother's take the stage, penning: "We first saw You Glasgow Barrowlands Ballroom December 1994 Definitely Maybe Tour. 36 years later I just secured a ticket for the Tuesday for the last UK Concert - Full f***in Circle "f***in COMON." A third fan embraced their inner Liam, declaring: "Scotland are officially MAD FER IT." Another summed up the video with a single, Gallagher-esque word: "BIBLICAL."
