Built empire worth billions from borrowed Rs 1500, man who sent ex Pakistan PM Imran Khan to jail is now on the run due to..., his name is...
Malik Riaz Hussain had been active in the country's affairs for a long time. It is alleged that it is because of him that former Prime Minister Imran Khan was jailed. Now, he is in the clutches of the law. Who is Malik Riaz Hussain, and why is he in the news?
Malik Riaz Hussain, as mentioned above, is one of the most influential and rich builders of Pakistan with access to the power corridors of the country. Now, he is in the clutches of the law. His Bahria Township is considered the pride of Pakistan, but now his properties are being auctioned. Pakistan's National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has auctioned three properties of Malik to recover the lost money.
The story of Malik Riaz Hussain is no less than a fairy tale. Malik was considered the most powerful and influential person in Pakistan for years. He not only had access to big leaders but also had close relations in the army and media. Due to these relations, he often escaped difficulties. But this time, it seems that luck has left him. What is the story behind the loan of 1500 rupees?
Malik's story started about 40 years ago as a contractor. At that time, his family did not have enough money to treat their newborn daughter. For this, the family had to sell their silver utensils. But after that, in 1979, Malik borrowed 1500 rupees from his friend and applied for a contract in the engineering wing of the army. After this, Malik's luck shone so much that he reached the list of the richest people of Pakistan. How did he become an outlaw?
Malik spent lots of money on army officers and politicians. In return, he started getting big contracts, thereby earning a lot of status and money and getting close to politicians, judges and military officers. He used to say openly that he had bribed not only politicians but also judges and ISI officers. He developed Pakistan's first gated colony, named Bahria Town. He also got huge replicas of the Eiffel Tower and the Statue of Liberty installed on the hill of the colony. When the noose started tightening in Pakistan, he fled to the UAE. What is the secret of 190 million pounds?
The root of this story is linked to a big settlement deal of 190 million pounds (about 2200 crore Indian rupees). In 2019, Britain's National Crime Agency (NCA) claimed that Malik Riaz agreed to pay 190 million pounds as a settlement of the ongoing investigation in the UK. It was alleged that this money was obtained from the proceeds of crime. Later, under an agreement, it was decided that this amount would be given to the Pakistani government. How did Imran Khan end up in jail because of Riaz?
The real game started from here. Allegations were made that instead of depositing this money in the government treasury, the government of the then Prime Minister Imran Khan used it to pay the fine imposed on Malik Riaz for illegal land acquisition in Karachi. Now, Al-Qadir Trust comes into the scene. Former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife were accused of taking a bribe from Malik Riaz. It was said that with the help of this money, Imran Khan took land from Malik Riaz and used it for his trust. In this case, Imran Khan was also sentenced to 14 years in January 2025.

‘Harassed by a child': Indian-origin family recounts racial abuse in Ireland amid attacks on Indians
An Indian-origin woman in Dublin alleged her 60-year-old father was racially harassed by two boys, amid rising attacks on Indians in Ireland. Both Indian and Irish authorities have condemned the assaults. read more Police stand at the front of the Richmond Road Baptist Church as other officers maintain a perimeter following a shooting at the church in Lexington, Ky. AP Amid a spate of recent attacks on Indians in Ireland, an Indian-origin woman has alleged that her 60-year-old father was racially harassed and subjected to inappropriate behaviour by two young boys at a bus stop in Dublin. In a Reddit post on August 9, she recounted waiting for a bus with her father and sister when the boys, believed to be around seven or eight years old, approached. They first asked for selfies but soon began mocking her father, with one allegedly trying to grab his wallet. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD 'We tried to stay calm and ignored their behaviour. But then, shockingly, one boy blocked my father's way, made grabbing gestures toward his crotch,' she wrote, saying the ordeal left her family 'feeling defenceless.' 'My father, aged 60, was harassed by a child right in front of his daughters, leaving us feeling defenceless. Knowing the current climate for people of colour in Ireland and being aware of the laws, it was frustrating not to have any immediate recourse,' she said. Citing the 'current climate for people of colour in Ireland,' she urged the Irish government to amend laws so that children can be held accountable for serious misconduct. 'No one should have to feel unsafe or powerless in public spaces, regardless of their background,' the post read. Multiple attacks against Indians raises concerns The incident comes after an Indian-origin taxi driver and a six-year-old Indian girl were attacked in separate incidents last week. The Indian Embassy in Ireland has issued an advisory urging the community to stay vigilant, while the Irish Embassy in India condemned the violence, calling it 'an assault on the values of equality and human dignity that Ireland holds dear.'

After IPL 2025 Disaster, CSK To Release Senior Stars And Invest In Young Talent: Report
IPL 2026: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are preparing for a major squad rebuild following their worst-ever IPL season, finishing at the bottom of the 2025 table. Reports suggest a strategy shift toward younger match-winners, with several senior players set to be released. Dhoni, Gaikwad and Owners Discuss Future Plans A meeting in Chennai between MS Dhoni, skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad, and team owners reportedly focused on plugging loopholes from the mega auction squad. Despite the addition of young players like Ayush Mhatre, Urvil Patel, and Dewald Brevis mid-season, CSK couldn't salvage their campaign. Senior Stars on the Chopping Block Veteran off-spinner R Ashwin, bought for ₹9.75 crore, is likely to be released. Other players with uncertain futures include Devon Conway, Rachin Ravindra, Rahul Tripathi, Sam Curran, Gurjapneet Singh, Nathan Ellis, Deepak Hooda, Jamie Overton, and Vijay Shankar. Offloading them could free up ₹34.45 crore, and with an additional purse, CSK might enter the mini-auction with ₹40 crore. Big Targets: Cameron Green and Ben Duckett CSK are reportedly eyeing Australian all-rounder Cameron Green and attacking English opener Ben Duckett to add much-needed firepower. The franchise's primary focus will be on strengthening the top order, securing a reliable middle-order Indian batter, and adding a quality pacer. Sanju Samson in CSK's Radar The franchise has shown interest in Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson, who might exit RR following a fallout with the owners. However, acquiring him before the auction appears challenging, as CSK are unwilling to trade core players like Gaikwad, Ravindra Jadeja, Matheesha Pathirana, and Shivam Dube. A cash-only deal seems the only route, but it would require significant negotiation. Dhoni's Future Still Unclear MS Dhoni, 45, who captained the side after Gaikwad's injury last season, has not confirmed retirement plans. The management believes he could play one more season, but Dhoni has said he will decide after assessing his fitness in the coming months.

'Your turn will come': What PM Modi told Naval chief soon after India-Pak ceasefire
Anyone who knows Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh, General Upendra Dwivedi, or Admiral Dinesh Tripathi will realize that they are all apolitical yet unafraid to speak their minds to the political leadership when it comes to national security. ACM Singh is a classic test fighter pilot who lives for the day and could not care less if the political leadership gets upset with his bindass attitude. General Dwivedi is a typical OG, dyed-in-wool green, most comfortable when with his troops. He is shy to a point but asserts himself when required and can be ruthless. Admiral Tripathi is a total badass who believes in the lethal power of the Navy and was ready to wipe out Karachi port on the morning of May 10—until the Pakistani DGMO pleaded for peace. PM Narendra Modi with his war cabinet on May 10. The report was presented to a national security team headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, and Chief of Defence Staff Gen Anil Chauhan. One common denominator with all four is that they know how to walk a razor's edge and have the daring to take any decision when it comes to national security—ready to face the consequences. Together, they make a formidable hunting pack. On the morning of May 10, while appreciating the Indian armed forces' response, PM Modi congratulated Gen Dwivedi and ACM Singh. He then looked at Admiral Tripathi and said: 'Humne aapke mooh se niwala cheen liya, aapko mauka phir milega' ('I have snatched the morsel out of your mouth, but your turn will come'). This statement came soon after the Indian Navy was told to stand down from launching a BrahMos missile attack on Karachi port. Unafraid that Pakistan could retaliate with a missile strike on his home state, Gujarat, in response to the Karachi move, the PM gave the three chiefs a total free hand and was prepared for the worst. The three chiefs may have had second thoughts—but not the PM. While many armchair strategists in state-funded think tanks may feel that ACM Singh's remarks in Bengaluru on Saturday were overstated, the fact is that the Air Chief spoke only about confirmed Pakistani aircraft, radar, and AEW&C platform kills during the May 7–10 conflict. He did not account for other hard evidence. National security planners and intelligence agencies know that a hangar housing C-130 Hercules VVIP transport aircraft was hit hard at Chaklala airbase in Rawalpindi on May 10, and two F-16s were destroyed on the ground in Jacobabad. The northern PAF command-and-control network went blind after Nur Khan (Chaklala) was hit at 2.30 am on May 10. ACM Singh also did not include 'half kills' in his remarks. Such was the fear of the Indian Army's M777 Excalibur shells and Warmate loitering ammunition that Pakistani troops abandoned posts near the LoC and fled. The IAF's response forced all prized PAF assets to be moved towards the western border with Iran and Afghanistan. For that very reason, an S-400 missile was used to take out a wide-bodied aircraft 315 kilometers from the Indo-Pak border in Punjab, Pakistan. The hit aircraft was a Saab AEW&C platform, though many in the IAF believe it could also have been a Dassault Falcon 20 ELINT aircraft. If that were not enough, hardly any ship or submarine of the Pakistan Navy was out at sea to counter the Indian Navy's armada, with all enemy vessels moving towards Gwadar in fear of the Indian response. Although PM Modi's critics and sundry professors may taunt him for stopping the armed response due to alleged US intervention, the last Indian BrahMos strike hit Bholari airbase at noon on May 10—after which all mission objectives were complete. Since Field Marshal Asim Munir was DG (ISI) when the Pulwama suicide bombing took place on February 14, 2019, and Army Chief when the Pahalgam Hindu tourist massacre was enacted at the instructions of Rawalpindi on April 22, 2025, it is clear that Pakistan will attempt another terror attack in the Kashmir Valley or the Indian hinterland in the near future. While Munir may get promoted to Pakistan's President or Field Marshal Administrator, it seems that the Indian Navy will get its turn after all.
