How does it work?
The PV5 features a side-entry system with a 300kg-rated ramp, allowing users to board safely and easily from the sidewalk. Inside, a universal wheelchair belt fastening system securely anchors the wheelchair, providing stability comparable to standard passenger seating. The vehicle's design reflects Kia's 'Opposites United' philosophy, blending modern, streamlined aesthetics with practical, rugged utility. Inside, the cabin features bold color schemes and sustainable materials such as thermoplastic olefin (TPO) and bio-based polyurethane (PU), ensuring both durability and environmental responsibility.The PV5 is underpinned by Kia's E-GMP.S platform, a dedicated electric skateboard architecture that supports modular body styles. This adaptability allows the PV5 to serve a variety of purposes, including passenger transport, cargo delivery, and specialised applications.
Battery pack and rangePowering the PV5 are battery options of 51.5kWh and 71.2kWh NCM units, along with a 43.3kWh LFP battery specifically for the Cargo model. A 120kW front-mounted motor produces 250Nm of torque, delivering strong performance suitable for both city and rural driving. With a driving range of up to 400km and the ability to fast-charge from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes, the PV5 is built for both convenience and practicality.FeaturesIn terms of tech, the PV5 comes equipped with an Android Automotive OS-based infotainment system, supporting seamless connectivity and over-the-air (OTA) software updates. Maruti Suzuki records 3.2% growth in May 2025, driven by strong export performance
Maruti Suzuki India Limited announced a total sale of 180,077 units in May 2025, marking a 3.2% increase compared to 174,551 units in May 2024. The growth was propelled by a significant surge in exports, which rose 79.8% to 31,219 units from 17,367 units last sales, however, saw a marginal decline, with 138,690 units sold compared to 146,694 units in May 2024. Passenger vehicle sales totalled 135,962 units, down from 144,002 units, while light commercial vehicle sales (Super Carry) slightly increased to 2,728 units from 2,692 units. Sales to other OEMs also dipped to 10,168 units from 10,490 utility vehicle segment, including models like Brezza, Ertiga, and Grand Vitara, remained a strong performer, recording 54,899 units sold, a 1.3% rise from 54,204 units in May 2024. Vans, led by the Eeco, grew by 12.5% to 12,327 units. In contrast, passenger car sales, particularly in the mini and compact segments (Alto, S-Presso, Baleno, Swift, etc.), fell to 68,736 units from 78,838 units, with the mid-size Ciaz sedan dropping significantly to 458 units from 730 units. Korean automaker Kia India has recorded a year-on-year rise of 14.43 per cent in May 2025 with overall sales of 22,315 units compared to 19,500 units sold in May 2024. The company informed that the new Kia Carens Clavis, which was recently launched, has witnessed an overwhelming response. MPV was introduced with a beginning price of ₹11.49 lakh, ex-showroom. Hardeep Singh Brar, Senior Vice President and National Head of Sales & Marketing of Kia India, stated that with the Carens Clavis, the company expects to create new benchmarks for the segment and make it more exciting than ever before. This is likely to be the Kia Carens Clavis based EV, Kia's first India made electric vehicle.
