The Indiana Fever will be without forward Damiris Dantas for part of the season, as she's officially been named to Team Brazil's roster for the 2025 FIBA Women's AmeriCup. The international tournament will run from June 28 to July 6, which means Dantas will miss several WNBA games as she represents her home country on the court.

Chicago Sky's Kamilla Carduso and 19-year-old athlete Manu Alves also made the list.
In the seven games Dantas has played so far during the 2025 WNBA season, she has averaged four points, 2.9 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game, while playing approximately 11.4 minutes per game. In her most recent game on Tuesday against the Washington Mystics, the 32-year-old athlete contributed eight points, four rebounds and one steal during 17 minutes of play, aiding the Fever in securing their 85–76 victory.

Chloe Peterson of the IndyStar reposted the announcement on her X account on Wednesday afternoon.
The Fever will be playing against the Dallas Wings on June 27, the Las Vegas Aces on July 3 and the Los Angeles Sparks on July 5. Dantas will likely be absent due to practice and games for the AmericupW.
Brazil will be going against Argentina on June 28, Canada on June 30, the Dominican Republic on July 1 and El Salvador on July 2.
This roster change adds to the challenges for the Fever, who have already dealt with injuries to key players Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham. As a result, the team signed Aari McDonald using a hardship exception.

Is Coaching 'Familiarity' Key To Unlocking Cowboys' Deuce Vaughn?
Is Coaching 'Familiarity' Key To Unlocking Cowboys' Deuce Vaughn? originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Dallas Cowboys running back Deuce Vaughn is entering perhaps his most significant NFL offseason of his career. Advertisement Having only played 17 games and totaled 134 rushing yards in two seasons, it's gut-check time for Deuce to prove he's worthy of staying on the roster. But maybe the football gods have smiled down on the running back when his former Kansas State coach, Conor Riley, was named offensive line coach this offseason. Is Riley's familiarity with Deuce and his game, which saw Vaughn rush for 3,604 yards and 36 touchdowns in three seasons in college, the key to him finally making a statement this offseason? 'For myself,'' Vaughn said, "I've been taking it day by day, but also understanding that his run scheme, the things that him and Coach [Klayton] Adams want to do as far as running the football this upcoming year, not necessarily new, nuances are just a little bit different. Advertisement "The terminology, being able to hear from somebody that you've heard it for now for three, four years, is really big. Just having that relationship that I can go and ask him questions about anything, just up front, and you know how big that is for a running back and a running game. "So it's really big that familiarity.' by Mike Fisher With Vaughn far down the pecking order in the running back room as Miles Sanders, Javonte Williams, and even rookie Jaydon Blue ahead of him in the depth chart, it could be tough sledding for Deuce. But maybe Riley's influence and familiarity with Vaughn can be the thread the Cowboys can pull to finally let Deuce loose in 2025. Advertisement Granted, he needs to get the carries to do it, and with two veterans in front of him, plus Blue, who is a speed merchant, that might be a tall order. However, with Riley, maybe Deuce now has a fighting chance of showing he is deserving of a place on Brian Schottenheimer's offense. Stephen Jones Reveals Thoughts On Cowboys' Legends Day
Stephen Jones Reveals Thoughts On Cowboys' Legends Day originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer wants to change the culture at The Star, and to do that, he has to do things differently. Advertisement While he's only been at his new post for a few months, Schottenheimer is already making big changes to how the Cowboys do things both on and off the field. One such thing that the first-time head coach has done was to incorporate a Cowboys "Legends Day" as OTAs got underway at The Star. Several former players, including Tony Casillas and Michael Irvin, were glowing in what they saw in the meeting rooms and on the practice field from both Schotty and his playing group. And COO Stephen Jones thinks it should be a regular thing the franchise does. 'I thought it was outstanding,' Jones said. 'Our guys really embraced it, it's great to see them, and a lot of those guys have had a lot of success wearing the Cowboy Star. I think they really enjoyed what Coach Schottenheimer is doing with these players, and really thought it was a great event, and we're going to do it again. Advertisement "I think everybody loved it and the guys who missed it, like Troy [Aikman] he called up and said if I weren't in Europe I'd have been there and hopefully next time we'll have even more. We love having those guys back.' Mandatory Credit: Jayne Kamin-Oncea-Imagn Images Jayne Kamin-Oncea-Imagn Images It might seem like a trivial thing to do, but Schottenheimer getting the players of today mixing with the players of yesterday to help build that connection, because as the head coach stated, they are a part of the Cowboys family. Times are well and truly changing at The Star, and it appears to be for the better right now. Granted, that doesn't mean it will translate into wins, but the vibe and energy at practice and in the meeting rooms are noticeably different from previous years. Advertisement Schotty wants to build the best culture in professional sports, and while that's quite the lofty goal, he's off to a good start with "Legends Day," showing that not only is he talking the talk with his desire to establish a new culture, but he's walking the walk, too. And Stephen Jones approves. Related: Is Coaching 'Familiarity' Key To Unlocking Cowboys' Deuce Vaughn? What Is Cowboys' Worst-Case Scenario For 2025?
What Is Cowboys' Worst-Case Scenario For 2025? originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Right now, there are positive vibes flowing through The Star as Brian Schottenheimer's Dallas Cowboys vision is becoming clear to see. Advertisement But as we know, it doesn't take too much for those vibes to be replaced with negative ones. Yes, we are early in the offseason, and everyone looks like a Pro Bowler, so when the regular season rolls around, we will get to see the truest version of Schottenheimer's Cowboys. However, with everything seemingly rolling smoothly, the roster appears to be in good shape for the regular season. Dak Prescott and the offense have been upgraded, and so too has the defense. Expectations for Dallas in 2025 vary from playoffs to missing out altogether. But if the Cowboys are to return to the postseason, what is one thing that simply can't happen? Of all the bad things that could transpire, I offer this as what some might call the worst-case scenario, and I write this with fingers, toes, and anything else you can think of crossed. Advertisement Prescott goes down again. Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott (4) scrambles against the Atlanta Falcons in the third quarter at Mercedes-Benz Davis-Imagn Images Having not missed a single game in his first four seasons, of Dak's next five years, he's only played a full year twice. We saw last season how quickly things unraveled when Prescott tore part of his hamstring off the bone, and for Schottenheimer, he has to keep Dak on the field. No longer the running threat he once was, Dak can now hopefully lean on a run game that was non-existent last season, plus he has George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb as his go-to weapons. When Dak is healthy, Dallas is a playoff team. It is that simple. So, keeping him upright and out of the treatment room is crucial to any success the Cowboys hope to have in 2025. Advertisement He is approaching his 32nd birthday, so Dak is no spring chicken, but losing him again as the franchise did last season is nightmare fuel. For now, and the future, because that could be thrown into question as well. So, my friends, knock on wood, cross your fingers and toes that Mr. Prescott stays on the field. Because Dallas' success depends on it.
