Love Island's Harry admits he 'handled things the wrong way with Helena and Shakira'

Daily Mirrora day ago
Love Island star Harry Cooksley has admitted he 'handled things the wrong way' when it came to his infamous triangle with Helena Ford and Shakira Khan.
Harry Cooksley thinks he 'handled things the wrong way' when it comes to his infamous triangle on Love Island. The footballer, 30, was coupled up with Helena Ford for weeks on the ITV2 dating show before moving on to Shakira Khan, 22, and they eventually finished as runners up last week.

Now, in their first joint interview as a couple, Harry has spoken out on his behaviour in the villa which saw him play Shakira and Helena against each other time and time again. He also sat back as Helena and Shakira took the triangle drama out on each other. Just days after the final, he has admitted that he hasn't actually spoken to Helena but gave a positive update on the status of their relationship now that the show is over.

He told Christine Lampard on Friday's edition of Lorraine: "I think I definitely handled things in the wrong way with Helena and Shakira. But at the end of the day, Helena and I are now moving forward as friends. I haven't actually spoken to her since I've been out but we had a couple of conversations before she left the villa and I'm delighted it's amicable." It comes after reports of all the celebrities rumoured to be joining BBC Strictly Come Dancing 2025.

Christine then quizzed Shakira on how she felt during the whole situation, and she said: "Honestly it was heartbreaking and having to watch it pan out every day was so tough. I think in the outside world you can have a bit of distance, you can speak to each other. It was something I'd never experienced before."
Elsewhere in the series, Harry had to deal with his ex-girlfriend Emma Munro arriving as a Bombshell during the Casa Amor portion of the competition and joked that he and the other boys had been hitting the gym every day in an attempt to impress the girls before all the drama unfolded.

He added: "I think I was buzzing, all the boys were so buzzing. We were calling it the Promised Land, we were gymming every day. We were training like it was the World Cup final and then the girls would come out, Emma was sat there and I just put my head in my hands. I hadn't seen her for months, probably since last year so it was such a surreal feeling."
But in the end, Harry ended up with Shakira and even though they were beaten to the £50,000 prize by Cach and Toni, he knew that Shakira was the one for him in the villa.
He explained: "I think it was just one conversation that we had. I would make comments towards her and me actually had a chat one-on-one for the first time in weeks and it was just natural, we expressed how we felt. I'd buried a lot of emotion while I was in there and it just kind of came out."

Despite this, Harry and Shakira are still hesitant to label themselves as exclusive on the outside world as he said: "When we rekindled and recoupled, I only had eyes for Shakira, there's no one else I would want to get to know. That hasn't changed since coming into the outside world. But I think exclusive isn't such a thing on the outside in terms of saying 'Oh, we're exclusive.'"
There had even been rumours that Harry was not single when he went looking for love in the villa, but he has now insisted that was never the case. He said: "I couldn't have been more single before going into the villa."
Clearing up any speculation, he insisted that there were no current girlfriends at the time, as he said: "My actual girlfriend was in the villa, my actual ex-girlfriend was in the villa. There wasn't any exes or current girlfriends. "
"I was definitely dating, definitely seeing people. But there's the process of no guarantee, you're not in the villa till you're in the villa, you can't talk about it. I only told four people, my closest friends and family so I wasn't going to go shouting that about!"
Shakira was initially coupled up with Harry in the early weeks of the competition, but they got together again just days ahead of the final and he told her: "I came in here and thought it would be a lot of fun. Finding you in a villa in Mallorca was not on my bingo card this summer. I do regret taking too long to tell you how I felt. We both know this is more than surface level - I think it always has been for me."

Katie Price and Princess Andre 'feud' deepens: 18th birthday 'blow out' and 'jealousy'

Katie Price's podcast rant about her daughter Princess Andre's blossoming fame and TV show appears to have backfired on the glamour model as she's branded 'attention-seeking' FRESH claims over Katie Price's 'feud' with her daughter Princess can be revealed today. ‌ In a series of blistering revelations, insiders have accused Katie, 47, of: ‌ Missing a planned morning meet-up with Princess Andre on her 18th birthday to party abroad instead Trying to 'insert herself' into Princess's success as her daughter embarks on a fledgling showbiz career Attention-seeking behaviour on the eve of Princess's new ITV show to overshadow the launch. ‌ Katie has made a number of claims in the days before her daughter's reality series, The Princess Diaries, launches on ITV2 at 9pm tonight. It comes after Katie Price reaches out to Harvey's lookalike half-brother but fears 'he's too scared'. The mum-of-five said she was banned from her daughter's 18th birthday party and that her former management team – who look after ex-husband Peter Andre and Princess – did not want her on the show as they considered her 'trash'. Speaking on her podcast, Katie claimed: 'Princess was like 'I'm having a party'. And I wasn't invited because it was for 'filming'.' ‌ The mum-of-five said she was banned from her daughter's 18th birthday party and that her former management team – who look after ex-husband Peter Andre and Princess – did not want her on the show as they considered her 'trash'. Speaking on her podcast, Katie claimed: 'Princess was like 'I'm having a party'. And I wasn't invited because it was for 'filming'.' ‌ She added: 'The fact is there's stuff my daughter is doing and I'm not allowed to be seen at any of it.' But insiders claimed her version of events was far from the truth. They said the 18-year-old had arranged to see her mum on the morning of her birthday in June in London – but Katie failed to appear. ‌ A source said: 'It was all in the diary but then Katie claimed she couldn't make it as she was abroad. It was disappointing. 'For Katie to then say she was banned from the afternoon's filmed party when she was the no-show in the morning is just beyond belief.' ‌ The former Celebrity Big Brother winner was later pictured partying in Ibiza, and then Dubai. She also reportedly accidentally shared a happy birthday Instagram message to Princess – 36 hours before her daughter's big day. Insiders are perplexed by Katie's attempts to 'repeatedly insert herself into her daughter's career'. ‌ The model herself claimed: 'I have not been allowed to go on any photoshoots, signings or Superdrug openings or anything like that. I'm not welcome.' But the source said: 'Why is she making this all about her? What sort of person on the eve of her daughter's show, starts throwing all these grenades and believes she knows what's best, and should be given equal billing? 'It's Princess's life, her career.' ‌ A second source added: 'It's so unfair that Princess is going through all this when it is her show and it's about her… 'Pete keeps quiet about the whole situation with Katie and just wants to support his children.' ‌ Some question whether Katie could be jealous of her daughter's success. The source said: 'Princess's career is flourishing. 'It was already predicted before she's going to be the next Kylie Jenner and now she's set to become a millionaire by next year.' ‌ Three-times-married Katie's behaviour has puzzled some of her former partners. One source close to an ex told this newspaper that it was 'ludicrous' for her to have hit out at her former manager at The CAN Group. Katie, who also has son Junior, 20, with Peter, had claimed: 'I've always said over my dead body would I want her managing my kids. She doesn't like me.' ‌ But a source close to an ex claimed: 'When Katie was at the height of her problems, including her drink-drive arrest a few years ago, she approached her former manager for help. She was in such a bad way but her manager was really happy to help... She organised a job but Katie didn't end up doing it. To turn around now and claim she wants nothing to do with her is nonsense. She wasn't saying that at the time.' Friends say Princess, who lives with her 52-year-old dad, step-mum Emily, 35, and their three young children, loves her mum but that it had not always been easy for her growing up. ‌ In her new series the teen influencer lifts the lid on her tumultuous childhood, including how tough it was when Katie split from her third husband, Kieran Hayler, in 2018. She said: 'My mum, being heartbroken, didn't deal with it in the best way. 'She went through a dark time. It was hard for me because I saw things kids don't need to see, and my mum wasn't emotionally able to be there.' Princess read stories at the time about her mum, including her driving bans, divorce and bankruptcy hearings. ‌ She said: 'I would go into school and have people ask me questions about what they had seen in the papers and I would go home and cry.' The teenager's relationship with her mother is much stronger now. 'I'm still not really healed from what has happened but Mum is such a different person and has really fixed herself,' she said, before describing her mum as 'my best friend'. She added: 'She is so unpredictable. She just lives life and doesn't care, and I really look up to that.' The CAN Group said: 'We would never advise a client on their personal life unless asked and we have never stopped anyone seeing their families.'
