The last ever episode will see Sarah Jessica Parker finally say farewell to Carrie Bradshaw for good following a shock announcement from showrunner Michael Patrick King. Fans were left surprised by the announcement despite the show regularly facing a backlash from viewers who slammed it as "the worst show on television." Audiences were left divided over the reboot which launched in 2021 due to the storylines that saw huge changes for the beloved SATC characters, including Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon) who cheated on her husband Steve Brady with non-binary comic Che Diaz, and Carrie calling the iconic love of her life Mr. Big a "mistake" as she rekindled her past romance with Aidan Shaw. It comes after reports of all the celebrities rumoured to be joining BBC Strictly Come Dancing 2025. Kim Cattrall's absence as fan-favourite character Samantha Jones also left a bad taste in viewers mouths, as Kim stayed away from the project due to a decade long rift with her former castmates. The areas in which the show was lacking left the production unable to continue according to sources. One insider told the Daily Mail: "HBO was happy to ride with the show for a few more years. Everyone was indebted to Sarah [Jessica Parker] and wanted the story she wanted to be told to go to completion. Decision makers felt like they owed it to Sarah and the rest of the cast and crew." TV tracker Samba TV reported that just 429,000 households streamed the season three premiere of AJLT in the four days following its debut – which was a seven percent decline from the season two premiere. The series premiere four years ago saw 1.1 million households tune in. However, the show suffered due to its "woke" storylines according to another insider. The source said: "Sex and the City is about women talking about dating men, their penis sizes and what the sex was like. Of course, they're getting older, but it's not like you don't still have sex with men and talk about their penises. People weren't connecting with the show." People struggled to get get on board with Miranda's new found romance with Che, who described themselves as a "queer non-binary Mexican Irish diva." The character was branded the "worst" on the series, with some viewers suggesting they were "[setting] back non-binary representation 70 years." When her romance with Che ended after Sara Ramirez was axed from the show Cynthia continued to pursue sexual encounters with other females as a single woman. The insider added: "Cynthia's plot continued to destroy the show. It sucked. Let's be honest, most people didn't watch after that first episode." Since the shock announcement of the show ending Parker paid tribute to Carrie in a lengthy Instagram post which highlighted some of her favorite memories of Carrie. She shared: "Crossed streets, avenues, rubicons, so it seemed. She broke hearts, heels, habits. She loved, lost, won, tripped, leaped. Fell short and into puddles. Aged. Got wiser. She has made the hardest worst and best decisions. "Traveled near and far. For the new. The vintage. Friends and love. Changed homes, time zones, boyfriends, her mind, her shoes, her hair, but never her love and devotion to New York City. She had dates, drinks, boyfriends. Love Island star Harry Cooksley has admitted he 'handled things the wrong way' when it came to his infamous triangle with Helena Ford and Shakira Khan. The footballer, 30, was coupled up with Helena Ford for weeks on the ITV2 dating show before moving on to Shakira Khan, 22, and they eventually finished as runners up last week. Now, in their first joint interview as a couple, Harry has spoken out on his behaviour in the villa which saw him play Shakira and Helena against each other time and time again. He also sat back as Helena and Shakira took the triangle drama out on each other. Just days after the final, he has admitted that he hasn't actually spoken to Helena but gave a positive update on the status of their relationship now that the show is over. He told Christine Lampard on Friday's edition of Lorraine: "I think I definitely handled things in the wrong way with Helena and Shakira. But at the end of the day, Helena and I are now moving forward as friends. I haven't actually spoken to her since I've been out but we had a couple of conversations before she left the villa and I'm delighted it's amicable." It comes after reports of all the celebrities rumoured to be joining BBC Strictly Come Dancing 2025. Christine then quizzed Shakira on how she felt during the whole situation, and she said: "Honestly it was heartbreaking and having to watch it pan out every day was so tough. I think in the outside world you can have a bit of distance, you can speak to each other. It was something I'd never experienced before." Elsewhere in the series, Harry had to deal with his ex-girlfriend Emma Munro arriving as a Bombshell during the Casa Amor portion of the competition and joked that he and the other boys had been hitting the gym every day in an attempt to impress the girls before all the drama unfolded. He added: "I think I was buzzing, all the boys were so buzzing. We were calling it the Promised Land, we were gymming every day. We were training like it was the World Cup final and then the girls would come out, Emma was sat there and I just put my head in my hands. I hadn't seen her for months, probably since last year so it was such a surreal feeling." But in the end, Harry ended up with Shakira and even though they were beaten to the £50,000 prize by Cach and Toni, he knew that Shakira was the one for him in the villa. He explained: "I think it was just one conversation that we had. I would make comments towards her and me actually had a chat one-on-one for the first time in weeks and it was just natural, we expressed how we felt. I'd buried a lot of emotion while I was in there and it just kind of came out." Despite this, Harry and Shakira are still hesitant to label themselves as exclusive on the outside world as he said: "When we rekindled and recoupled, I only had eyes for Shakira, there's no one else I would want to get to know. That hasn't changed since coming into the outside world. But I think exclusive isn't such a thing on the outside in terms of saying 'Oh, we're exclusive.'" There had even been rumours that Harry was not single when he went looking for love in the villa, but he has now insisted that was never the case. He said: "I couldn't have been more single before going into the villa." Clearing up any speculation, he insisted that there were no current girlfriends at the time, as he said: "My actual girlfriend was in the villa, my actual ex-girlfriend was in the villa. There wasn't any exes or current girlfriends. " "I was definitely dating, definitely seeing people. But there's the process of no guarantee, you're not in the villa till you're in the villa, you can't talk about it. I only told four people, my closest friends and family so I wasn't going to go shouting that about!" Shakira was initially coupled up with Harry in the early weeks of the competition, but they got together again just days ahead of the final and he told her: "I came in here and thought it would be a lot of fun. Finding you in a villa in Mallorca was not on my bingo card this summer. I do regret taking too long to tell you how I felt. We both know this is more than surface level - I think it always has been for me."

While he insisted he would gladly move to Burnley to be with the gorgeous star, some fear their romance might already be on the rocks after she shared a snap of Harry as a cockroach. On her Instagram Stories, she re-posted a meme made by Love Island, which featured two cartoon cockroaches with Harrison ad Harry's heads superimposed onto it, with a first prize medal on Harrison and a second place medal on Harry. The edit comes after Shakira cried about them in an emotional moment in the villa. The moment was shared in the same cockroach post and saw her in tears as she yelled out: "That absolute little ant. Like, he stood up there a f***ing cockroach and cockroach number two's stood next to him," referring to Harry. Shakira shared the picture of the cockroaches and joked: "Second place suits you." In the original post, which was shared two weeks ago, fans rushed to side with Shakira. "We are with you Shakira," one person wrote, and another posted: "Toni and Shakira are the best couple in there." One fan commented: "I wish she knew how loved she is on the outside!!!!" During the live final, host Maya Jama wasted no time in telling runners-up Shakira and Harry what she really thought of their romance. The presenter gave her true thoughts on the pair, having called out Harry for his behaviour towards Helena and others in a previous episode. Harry shared his shock though, as Maya admitted this time it felt different between them. Having seen clips of them together for the final week and the final day, she said watching them she could see it was genuine. She shared: "Well you both look very happy with each other. The Channel 4 military-style reality series returned to screens last week with the likes of X Factor legend Lucy Spraggan, footballer Troy Deeney and former drugs mule Michaella McCollum amongst a host of others being put through their paces by the show's tough directors. However, viewers watched as pop star Hannah Spearritt quit the show just minutes into the first episode, and dancer Louie Spencer later realised he could not hack it either so decided to remove his armband and walk off. In episode two, Love Island stars Tasha Ghouri and Chloe Burrows quit on the spot as well. Insiders have claimed that some of the stars are being paid up to £20,000 as an appearance fee and insisted that they will still receive payment in full, no matter what stage of the competition they actually reach. A source told The Sun: "Hannah Spearitt, Chloe Burrows and Tasha Ghouri will all have been paid over £10k - some as much as £20k - but unlike other reality shows, they do get paid if they pull out. I wouldn't say I give up easily but whether I get to the end or not...I don't think I'll go on the first day because I just wouldn't forgive myself." She went onto tell instructors: "Sorry - I'm done. Sorry. I've reached a point." And she wasn't the only star to fall at the first hurdle, as Pineapple Dance Studios star Louie also dramatically left the show as the tough scenes unfolded. He initially told the cameras as part of his own confessional segment: "If there was a world war and they decided they were gonna call everyone up, would I be the first to jump up and say 'Yes me?' Being surrounded my thousands of soldiers, I might just jump at it. I'd be the home guard like on Dad's Army. We'll have a gay Dad's Army. Honestly, they wouldn't wanna mess with the gays!" But, despite his confidence, just moments later, Chris Fox described the group's effort as "abysmal" after the latest task. He reminded the recruits to think about why they were there and suggested they take things "seriously". Louie piped up: "I wanna do an immediate withdrawal. I just don't have the conviction and I feel as though I'm not dedicated enough," he said as he removed his armband. Chris gave him the chance to put his arm band back on, but Louie refused, so Chris said: "Get your kit." In a previously-filmed confessional, Louie, 56, had said: "I'm a survivor, I would keep battling to survive. I think the worst way for me to leave the course would be to choose to leave. That would really p*** me off," but just seconds later, it was confirmed that he had indeed quit the show." And following their exits, Chloe took to Instagram to rant about why she had quit as she said: ""I was f*****g exhausted and wanted my own bed and a cuddle from my mum. Forgive a girl for being so naive, but jumping at opportunities I'd never thought possible," whilst Tasha is yet to address her exit.

Olly Murs speaks out about X Factor experience as ex-stars slam ITV show
Olly Murs - who competed on the 2009 series of The X Factor - has addressed the criticism surrounding the show after a string of previous contestants hit out at the former series Olly Murs has defended the legacy of The X Factor after a string of stars slammed the programme. The show, created by Simon Cowell, has produced some of the biggest names in music, but while the majority of the contestants celebrate their experience, others have hit out at it. In recent years, the programme has come under fire, with some former stars claiming that there was a lack of care – an allegation which has been strongly denied by the production team. After 2011, the programme began to see a decline in viewing figures before it was announced in July 2021 that it would no longer air. Over the course of its tenure on TV, the show produced winners including the likes of Leona Lewis, Rak-Su, Little Mix, Ben Haenow, Louisa Johnson and Matt Cardle. Meanwhile, other successful artists such as One Direction, Olly Murs, Fleur East, Stacey Solomon and Rebecca Ferguson have gone on to have successful careers, despite not winning. But Olly, who has been fiercely loyal to the programme, has now opened up about the legacy and how important it has been in the music industry. "I think there's no doubt we can all sit here and say that the X Factor was huge," he commented. Speaking to BBC Radio Lancashire ahead of his headline slot, turning on the Blackpool Illuminations on August 29, he continued: "It's hugely successful for creating such stars, from the One Direction boys, to Harry Styles, Niall has obviously done things, Louis, I mean, all the boys from that band came out and did great stuff. "You know, me, James Arthur, Little Mix, Lucy Spraggan – there's some real, I mean, the list goes on and on, to be honest. Alexandra Burke! There have been endless people who have come. Stacey Solomon, of course, even though she's not doing music, she's doing so well herself." Olly went on to say: "There's just so many over the years that have just had such big careers. That's the thing. That's what the show was built on, bringing young people off the street or young people an opportunity and a chance to change their lives forever. We took it and embraced it and look where we are now." Speaking about turning on the iconic Blackpool Illuminations, Olly told the press: "Very honoured to be asked, over the years so many iconic artists have done it so it's going to be a cool night and I'm very excited to do it." Reflecting on being asked, Olly revealed: "Surprised but happy and I've no doubt will be a super day, plus all the tickets are free for the event." But what will the cheeky Essex chap be performing on the night? He explained: "Yeah, I'll be performing a full set with all the hits, and yes, I'll be playing new music which is exciting for me! Looking forward to the fans getting to hear it." "Dance With Me Tonight," he revealed would be his one song to sum up the experience of Blackpool, as he explained: "Blackpool is a place for the families to have fun and enjoy the festivities all year round. From young kids to grandmas, this song gets everyone moving! I look forward to seeing everyone dance to it."
