Simon Cowell even jumped up and pressed the Golden Buzzer during his rendition of I'm Gonna Be by The Proclaimers — the first time it was pressed this series.
In the first live semi-final, Vinnie's emotional rendition of Snow Patrol's Chasing Cars resonated with both the audience and the judges, securing him the top spot through the public vote.

His semi-final performance was a medley of songs including AC/DC's Thunderstruck, Guns And Roses' Sweet Child O' Mine and Bon Jovi's Livin' On A Prayer.
Simon reached for the Golden Buzzer to ensure Olly's place in the final, after Amanda had done the same at the audition stage.
Olly said getting to the final of the ITV show was the 'coolest thing in my life'.
Stacey Leadbeatter

As the semi-finals continue on ITV1 at 7pm on Saturday, May 10, 2025, more acts will join these fab four acts in the show's final.

Coronation Street legend's mum called him by his character's name
Coronation Street legend Simon Gregson is used to being called Steve McDonald while out in public – but he didn't expect his own mother to do the same. Simon has played Steve since 1989, so it is no wonder that fans address him as his character when they bump into him in real life. He's been at the centre of some enormous storylines over the years, fathered four children and been married seven times. 'The thing is with a soap you're in people's front rooms every night of the week and they grow up with your character and they kind of grow up with you. So in their psyche, you're kind of in their lives,' Simon explained on the Fuelling Around podcast. 'The reaction to soap people is strange. I once had a woman grab hold of my arm down the aisle in the supermarket and she grabbed hold of me with a face of shock and horror and held onto me for ages and then apologised and walked off.' 'And I thought, 'She thinks I'm a dead relative.'' Even in his home, Simon can't escape Steve, as he confessed that his own mum even called him by his character's name once! 'I got called Steve by my mum once, at home. I mean, it was a genuine mistake. She went, 'I've been talking with Steve all day at work!' More Trending 'I was like, 'I know, but it's the last thing I need at home.' 'Bless my poor mum. It was genuine.' Steve has been at the centre of some big stories this year, having fallen for Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney). However, things got complicated after she was exposed for poisoning Ken Barlow (William Roache). Amanda Holden defends Beckhams as she tells co-star to 'stop it' after jibe
Amanda Holden wasn't impressed when her Heart Breakfast co-star Jamie Theakston appeared to make an indirect dig at the Beckhams during a showbiz segment on the radio show Amanda Holden firmly told her Heart Breakfast co-host Jamie Theakston to "stop it" during a live broadcast after he made an indirect jibe at David and Victoria Beckham and their brood. On the showbiz segment yesterday (Wednesday, June 4) Ashley Roberts, formerly of the Pussycat Dolls, dished out some juicy gossip about one of HBO's The White Lotus stars. The news centred around Patrick Schwarzenegger, who portrays Saxon Ratliff in the acclaimed third season of the series and is also the offspring of Hollywood icon and ex-Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger. Despite being 31 years old, Patrick is determined to carve out his own niche in the industry and distance himself from the stigma of being a "nepo baby". Ashley revealed that despite his reservations, he was advised against changing his famous surname. Amanda chimed in with her take on the matter: "I tell you what I'm not enjoying, I'm not enjoying that whole nepo baby, nepo baby. It's everywhere. It's like the latest craze that the press are using," reports Gloucestershire Live. "For people's children that are actually doing really well off their own backs - and I'm not including mine in this, I'm just saying - do you know what I mean?" Nepo baby (nepotism baby) has become a commonly used term to describe an individual who enjoys success due to familial connections, perhaps as a result of being related to a celebrity. Jamie joined the conversation, suggesting that the label "takes away from their efforts". Ashley contributed by mentioning that Patrick had expressed a deep passion for acting and had dedicated "so much time and so much effort" to perfecting his craft. Amanda quipped: "If you're not talented, it doesn't matter who you're related to, you will not make it." Jamie then said that he could think of a "couple of examples" where the offspring of celebrities might challenge her statement, leading Amanda to press him for names. With a hint of mischief, Jamie suggested "maybe a Beckham", to which Amanda swiftly retorted: "Stop it! I won't have their names sullied on this show." Ashley, sensing they were treading on thin ice, quickly tried to steer the conversation away, proposing they "abort this mission". The Beckham clan has indeed been no stranger to such controversies. In 2024, Cruz Beckham, the third eldest child of David and Victoria, faced criticism after sharing a snippet of his music on Instagram. One commenter insinuated that his success was down to "mega money and training", prompting Cruz to respond with: "Not at all. Just a guitar". Yet, as the scrutiny intensified, he controversially said that "Jesus was also a nepo baby," only to erase the comment within less than half a day. Brooklyn Beckham, the couple's oldest child, has similarly been labelled a 'nepo baby'. In an interview with Grazia, he admitted to his privileged birth but insisted that "couldn't help" how he came into the world. He added: "There's always going to be people that say rubbish. But as long as you do something that makes you happy and you're kind to people, that's all that matters."

Simon Cowell leaves fans truly baffled after major transformation
Simon Cowell has long been open about his use of cosmetic procedures, but the 65-year-old's latest appearance has left Britain's Got Talent viewers stunned Simon Cowell found himself in the spotlight after his new look in a Britain's Got Talent teaser triggered quite the stir. The 65 year old music mogul flashed a smile in a pre-recorded snippet for Saturday night's live final, which aired on May 31, declaring: "We're live from Hammersmith, it's minutes before the final, I am really excited. "I haven't got a clue who is going to win, but that's a good thing. Thanks for watching, everyone." Yet, it wasn't the anticipated finale causing a buzz amongst viewers, it was Cowell's vastly transformed visage. Social media erupted with fans suggesting he resembled "an AI version of Simon Cowell," while others confessed to struggling to recognise him. Before opinions could skyrocket, ITV took decisive action by disabling comments on the video, halting any further public discourse. Cowell, once an X Factor panellist and among the first male celebs to openly discuss using cosmetic injectables, has consistently refuted claims of surgical enhancement. Addressing last year's flurry of plastic surgery gossip with a chuckle, he retorted: "I think it's hysterical. I mean it just makes me laugh - I haven't had a facelift or anything. I have had a bit of Botox but kind of nothing drastic. So when I hear about this stuff honestly it does make me laugh", reports the Express. Back in 2018, music mogul Simon Cowell splashed out a cool £2,000 on a flashy cosmetic procedure known as the "21st-century facelift"—a Silhouette Soft Lift that works by threading bioplastic-infused fibres beneath the skin to perk up and firm saggy bits. At that time, Cowell dished to the Daily Mail: "For me now, it's all about having clean skin. If you have clean skin, you look better. But you have to be very careful with some of this stuff." Admitting he may have previously taken it too far with the nips and tucks, Cowell reflected: "There was a stage where I might have gone a bit too far. I saw a picture of me from 'before' the other day and didn't recognise it as me." Nowadays, the telly stalwart credits his fresh facade to a more wholesome lifestyle. Simon credited his rejuvenated looks to hydration and clean living. Speaking to the Daily Mail, he said: "There was a phase where everyone was having their faces pumped full of this and the other. But actually, for me now, a lot of it comes down to healthy eating and drinking tons of water." Over the years, Cowell's visage has definitely taken on new shapes. Back in the '80s, well before he became synonymous with TV talent shows, Cowell was a behind-the-scenes music bod sporting a fuller face, untouched barnet, and au naturel gnashers. As the noughties dawned with Cowell rising to fame through the likes of Pop Idol and American Idol, he maintained his signature black tee and denim combo, though the tell-tale signs of advancing years were undeniably etched on his visage. It wasn't until the 2010s that his transformation started to attract attention. His cheeks appeared plumper, jawline more defined, and forehead smoother, sparking years of speculation about precisely what procedures he had undergone.
