Jack Osbourne recalls his bizarre introduction to the family mansion made famous by MTV reality show in final Instagram post before confirming the death of dad Ozzy
Fans across the world are currently mourning the loss of family patriarch Ozzy Osbourne following the Black Sabbath legend's death at the age of 76 on June 22.
And appearing on the Trying Not To Die podcast shortly before news of his father's death was confirmed, Jack recalled paying an initial visit to the sprawling Beverly Hills mansion with his family while they were searching for a property in Los Angeles.
He said: 'Our house that we filmed The Osbournes in, we bought it off this guy who at the time was the President of the Congo, and his name was President Bongo? No joke.
'And when we were looking at the house, my mum goes into the guy's closet and he had these campaign T-shirts? And we stole one of these campaign T-shirts. I put it on under my hoodie, we walked out.
'But all around the house they had pictures of them with their pet lions and crazy exotic animals'.
When asked if the campaign T-shirt had a slogan, he added: 'President Bongo, for the Congo.'
Despite Jack's claim, there appears to be no record of a President Bongo ruling either the Republic of the Congo or its central African neighbour - formerly known as Zaire until it became the Democratic Republic of the Congo in 1997.
However, Gabon - another central African country - was ruled by President Ali Bongo from 1967 until his death in 2009.
Bongo's son Ali Bongo Ondimba succeeded his father, serving as Gabon's third President until he was deposed during a political coup in 2023.
Jack's palatial former home, located in exclusive Doheny Drive, was owned by the Osbourne's until 2007, when it was subsequently bought by pop star Christina Aguilera for a reported $11.5million.
The TV personality's post, shared to promote the podcast he hosts with Ryan Drexler, was his last before the death of his father was announced on Tuesday evening.
The metal legend died just weeks after he took to the stage for his final show with Black Sabbath, with his family confirming the sad news in a statement.
'It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,' it read.
'He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis.'
His Black Sabbath band mates – Terence 'Geezer' Butler, Tony Iommi and Bill Ward – led tributes to Osbourne alongside fans from his home city of Birmingham, where he had taken to the stage as part of a reunion concert just weeks earlier.
Black Sabbath co-founder Iommi said it was 'brilliant' to reunite with the band before Osbourne died, saying the singer 'really wanted' to perform together again and 'felt at home'.
He told BBC Radio 4's Today programme: 'It is really a shock. It's really hit me today to be honest, but yeah, a terrible shock.'
On their reunion concert two weeks ago, Iommi said: 'It was brilliant to be with all the guys again… and it was brilliant for Ozzy because he really wanted to do that, you know, he felt at home there and it was really good for him.
'It was good for all of us, and lovely to be able to get together for a final thing. I mean, we didn't realise it was going to be this final.'
Earlier this month, Osbourne took to the stage as part of the Black Sabbath reunion, telling thousands of heavy metal enthusiasts at Villa Park – a stone's throw from where the band was formed in 1968 – that it was 'so good to be on this stage' as he performed his last set from a large black throne.
The group were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2006 and Osbourne was added for a second time last year.
He rose to further fame alongside his wife Sharon – whom he married in 1982 and with whom he has three children, Aimee, Jack and Kelly – through their MTV reality TV series The Osbournes.
In 2020, Osbourne revealed he had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, telling Good Morning America that it was discovered he had the neurodegenerative disorder after a fall.
He said: 'I did my last show New Year's Eve at The Forum. Then I had a bad fall. I had to have surgery on my neck, which screwed all my nerves and I found out that I have a mild form.'
He released his 12th studio album Ordinary Man in 2020, followed by Patient Number 9 in 2022, which went to number three and two in the UK charts, respectively.

Republicans propose bill to rename the Kennedy Center to the Donald J. Trump Center for the Performing Arts
Republican Representative Bob Onder has proposed a bill to rename the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., after President Donald Trump. The proposed legislation, titled the 'Make Entertainment Great Again Act,' cites President Trump as a significant cultural icon and patron of the arts. This bill follows a separate amendment, introduced by Republican Representative Mike Simpson, to rename the Kennedy Center's Opera House after First Lady Melania Trump, which passed the House Appropriations Committee 33-25. President Trump recently replaced members of the Kennedy Center's board and became its chairman, stating his intention to ensure the institution was 'not going to be woke.' John F. Kennedy's grandson, Jack Schlossberg, has criticized these renaming efforts, suggesting President Trump is 'obsessed with being bigger than JFK.'

Julia Roberts' nepo baby niece Emma compares offseason in the Hamptons to Stephen King's The Shining
has compared offseason in the Hamptons to Stephen King's classic horror novel The Shining. The 34-year-old Scream Queens alumna — whose secret hobby was recently revealed — opened up about the years she has spent at the popular seaside town for her latest cover story for Modern Luxury. The star has often been spotted in the Hamptons, whether that be at a star-studded event or enjoying lowkey outings. Emma — who is the niece of Julia Roberts — recalled 'coming out here all the time' to visit her mom Kelly Cunningham who now lives in the Hamptons full time. 'Fifteen years ago, in the winter, it was like The Shining sometimes out here,' the actress told the outlet. 'And now it's like summer all year, which is so beautiful to see . . . I've fallen more and more in love with it as the years have gone on — especially after having my son. I see the Hamptons in a whole different light through his eyes, which is so magical.' During her summers in the Hamptons, Emma brings along a few good books to read while accompanied by her son Rhodes. She shares the four-year-old with ex, the actor Garrett Hedlund, whom she dated from 2019 until their split in 2022. Roberts is now engaged to the actor Cody John. 'I love Sagg Main Beach. It's kind of my routine in the summer — I'll take my son to camp and bring my book with me to the beach and just sit by myself for an hour,' she said. 'There's nothing like it.' Roberts sounded enthused about the people and 'community' in the Hamptons during her conversation. 'It just feels more like a community way of life out here — which, to me, is always more inspiring. It makes me want to read more, makes me want to cook more,' she admitted. Emma has been an avid reader for many years, and even launched her own book club Belletrist in 2017 with her pal Karah Preiss. Earlier this month, she made an appearance at the Avaline x Stella McCartney gathering in East Hampton. The mom-of-one dressed for the occasion in a white halter-styled minidress, as well as a pair of white shoes with chunky soles. Her reddish locks were parted in the middle, and effortlessly flowed down past her shoulders in light waves. And last month in June, Emma put on a stylish display in Montauk, which borders the Hamptons. She donned a black, sleeveless dress with a fashionable belt around the waistline while stopping by the Michael Kors x Montauk Yacht Club event. Aside from enjoying the summer weather in the Hamptons, the beauty has a number of projects up her sleeve, including the upcoming romantic comedy Marriage Material which is also starring comedian Matt Rife, per Variety. The movie is produced by BuzzFeed Studios, and the studio president Richard Alan Reid stated back in May: 'Marriage Material is a fresh, fiercely funny romantic comedy with an undeniable heart. 'Emma and Matt are a comedy duo that audiences worldwide will enjoy,' Reid continued. 'We're delighted to be partnered with Capstone Studios, and believe that with its bold humor, irresistible charm, and modern twist on love, Marriage Material is poised to become a global crowd-pleaser.' Last year, she also appeared in the 12th season of American Horror Story alongside Kim Kardashian. 'Getting to work with Kim was so much fun because we passed each other growing up in Calabasas together,' Emma told Modern Luxury. The pair are now working on the upcoming Netflix series titled Calabasas, which the two stars are executive producers on, per Deadline. 'That led us to another project we have in development, a TV show called Calabasas, based on the memoir If You Lived Here You'd Be Famous by Now,' Roberts said. 'We're turning that into a show with Netflix, so that will be really fun.' In an interview with Elle from February, Emma discussed the importance of having balancing when it comes to working in the entertainment industry. 'I think it's really important to have a life outside of work — to read things and have experiences that aren't work related. I think this actually makes the work better when you pick it back up again.' The star added, 'I really try to give my personal life as much love as my work life. 'As someone in the industry, I think it's easy to self-isolate for the sake of a job, but losing touch with the real world is where you get yourself in trouble,' she said. And while enjoying being a mom to son Rhodes — who turns five in December — Emma also talked about her self-care. 'Self-care for me is about unplugging from electronics,' she said. 'I love to do bath and bed routines with my son and then take some time for myself. That usually involves a face mask and a book.'

Love Island fans predict the downfall of Dejon just one week before the final as Harry's brother and Meg's sister both reveal some home truths whilst his own family defend his actions
While Dejon may have been one of the favourites to win the show, viewers are convinced the family and friends episode may have marked his downfall. The Islanders were surprised by the arrival of their loved ones during Monday night's show, as the end of the series nears and all eyes are on the final. One particularly awkward exchange took place between Dejon and his girlfriend Meg's sister, who made no secret of her feeling towards their romance. This was coupled with Harry's brother sharing his own home truths about Dejon, while Dejon's family jumped to his defence over his villa antics. Meg was reunited with her mother Nathalie and older sister Paige earlier, whilst Dejon got to see his mum Demelza and his sister Gene in scenes that aired this evening. Meg's family had concerns over the relationship, Nathalie and Paige immediately grilled Meg's boyfriend Dejon. In awkward scenes, Meg defended Dejon as her mum and sister warned her that she 'lets him away with a lot', as well as branding him a 'player'. Paige also went on to call out how Dejon's recoupling speeches always follow the same pattern. Meg's sister Paige wanted answers, saying to Meg: 'You let him get away with a lot though, why?' Meg was very defensive, insisting that Dejon has stepped up as a partner after the pair went exclusive, then boyfriend and girlfriend. Elsewhere Dejon's mum Demelza had some thoughts for her son saying: 'In the beginning it was like you had verbal diarrhoea. 'No mother needs to hear about your threesomes and how much you looooooove sex. I just wanted to go, "Shut up!"' Dejon's mum added: 'You're a big flirt, didn't know that.' 'You lot just come in to cook me or what?' Dejon stiffly replied, before his sister Gene insisted: 'We've been watching you for the last how many weeks - you need this feedback!' However Dejon's family were generally supportive of his experience and even blamed other members of the villa for his behaviour. Sharing their thoughts on the episode, viewers said: 'Dejon getting called out by literally all the parents, inject it! #LoveIsland'; 'LOOOOL DEJON GOT ZERO RATINGS'; 'Dejon's family being just like him and not checking him on his behaviour to the other girls says everything tbh and instead blaming them'; 'Dejon getting found out by Meg and Harry's family'. Many others were relieved to see Meg's sister give him a piece of her mind after he spent the first few weeks entertaining other women. They said: 'Very glad Meg's sister told her what's what about Dejon! That's something at least. Will it make an impact? Doubt it. I'll be surprised if it does tho'; 'Meg's sister is saying the right things but Dejon's mum is enabling Dejon'; 'Only Meg's older sister has sense'; 'I wish we had Meg's sister in the villa'; 'Meg's sister is clocking but you can't save someone who don't wanna be saved'; 'I actually love the way Meg's sister is not ramping with either of them'; 'Not Meg's mum and sister warning her and Dejon's mother and sister praising him...'; 'Meg's sister clocking Dejon real bad! GET HIM AGAIN FOR ME!'; Many others were relieved to see Meg's sister give him a piece of her mind after he spent the first few weeks entertaining other women Others noted Harry's family warning him about Dejon talking behind his back. They said: 'I'm glad Harry's friend told him about Dejon because he's a snakey man'; 'Harry's family even bringing Dejon's stocks lower down is cracking me up'; "With mates, you crucify them in private and support them in public" This is exactly what the issue was with Dejon. He didn't call out his mate for his moves but instead laughed behind his back with the others'. 'Harry's fam doesn't like Dejon at all also Dejon being stone faced'.
