Is Shah Rukh Khan joining Ranveer Singh in Farhan Akhtar's Don 3? Here's what we know

Time of India07-07-2025
Is the Don franchise about to pull off the biggest crossover in recent Bollywood history? If recent reports are anything to go by, Shah Rukh Khan may soon share screen space with Ranveer Singh in Don 3—and fans have every reason to be excited. After years of delays, Farhan Akhtar is finally set to take the iconic action-thriller franchise forward, with filming expected to begin by January 2026.
Shah Rukh Khan's reported cameo: What we know
According to a report by Siasat, Farhan Akhtar personally reached out to Shah Rukh Khan to pitch a character that's small in screen time but pivotal to the film's storyline. Despite being busy with his own big-budget film King, the superstar has reportedly agreed to be part of Don 3, largely due to his close relationship with Farhan. If confirmed, this will mark the first time SRK and Ranveer appear together onscreen, setting the stage for a truly memorable cinematic moment.
SRK's appearance is expected to be more than just a nostalgic nod—it's being described as crucial to the overall plot. The news of his potential cameo has already generated massive buzz online, reigniting interest in the film and the future of the Don universe.

Is Kiara Advani part of Don 3?
Meanwhile, another major development involves Kiara Advani. As cited by Business Standard, Kiara was initially expected to replace Priyanka Chopra as the female lead but had to step back due to her pregnancy. This unexpected twist led Farhan to pause production temporarily. However, new reports suggest that Kiara is now back on board, clearing another major hurdle in the film's development.
Aside from Kiara's pregnancy, Farhan Akhtar's packed schedule also contributed to the film's delay. As per Business Standard, the filmmaker-actor has been fully immersed in 120 Bahadur, a war drama where he plays Major Shaitan Singh. That film is slated for release on November 21, 2025, which leaves room for Don 3 to go on floors right after.
About Don 3 and the franchise legacy
The Don franchise has seen multiple iterations over the decades. It began with the 1978 classic starring Amitabh Bachchan in the titular role. Shah Rukh Khan later took over the reins in Farhan Akhtar's 2006 reboot, which was followed by a successful sequel in 2011. Alongside SRK, Don 2 featured Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Boman Irani and went on to win the Best Asian Film award at the Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival.
Now, Don 3 aims to take that legacy forward with Ranveer Singh stepping into the lead role. The film is scheduled to begin shooting in January 2026, with a theatrical release planned for December of the same year.

'Fantastic Four's Pedro Pascal hated his look in 'Wonder Woman 1984'; refuses to shave again

(Picture Courtesy: Facebook) Hollywood star Pedro Pascal has revealed that he was shell-shocked on watching himself in 'Wonder Woman 1984'. The reason behind the same? The actor hated his clean shaven look in the film. Pedro Pascal faced off against his 'Fantastic Four' co-star Vanessa Kirby for a video series, in which they were asked to debate which is sexier: Mustaches or beards, reports 'Variety'. Pedro has long rocked facial hair throughout his career, but there was one role that required him to go clean shaven. I grow such sh... facial hair As per 'Variety', that would be the villainous Maxwell Lord in "Wonder Woman 1984," Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot's superhero sequel that released in theaters and HBO Max simultaneously on Christmas Day 2020. He said during LADbible's 'Agree to Disagree', "I grow such shit facial hair, but if I were to shave it all off... I really look very [awful]. Strongly disagree with a clean shaven me. I was so appalled by the way I looked in 'Wonder Woman 1984.' I loved the movie, but I was so appalled by the way that I looked that I never have gone back. Unless it were completely necessary". He further mentioned, "If they asked me to clean shave for 'Fantastic Four' and insisted then I would've done it. But it was a very collaborative creation for all of our looks in the movie". by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like American Investor Warren Buffett Recommends: 5 Books For Turning Your Life Around Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo Pascal rocks his trademark mustache as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic in the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe tentpole, a choice that has sparked a bit of backlash amongst superhero obsessives who are committed to the clean-shaven Reed from the comic books.
