No separate depot is needed; the Mogharpada depot (serving Lines 4, 4A, and future Line 11) will handle Line 10 operations.
Further future metro expansions (e.g., Lines 11, 12) are planned and will enhance the network connectivity even more.
How will Mumbai Metro-10 help Mumbai?
Railway expansion across Mumbai comprises many lines, with Line 10 forming part of the Green Line. The full Mumbai Metro is expected to exceed 523 km with 350 stations; most under-construction sections aim to be operational by 2027. Existing metro lines currently carry only 10% of the number of commuters compared to local trains, despite nearly 999 daily trips across four metro lines.
Line 10 will significantly enhances cross-city connectivity — particularly for those commuting from Mira Road, Thane, and Borivali — offering alternatives to crowded suburban trains and improving commute efficiency once operational.

Two Days After India Visit, China's Wang Yi To Attend Trilateral Conference With Afghanistan, Pakistan

Last Updated: The conference was originally scheduled to take place in Pakistan but had to be cancelled after the Afghan foreign minister did not receive clearance to travel to Islamabad Afghanistan will host the foreign ministers of China and Pakistan for a trilateral conference on August 20 in Kabul, two days after Wang Yi's scheduled visit to India to meet national security adviser Ajit Doval. China, Pakistan, and Afghanistan will take part with their top delegations for the meeting, which was originally scheduled to take place in Pakistan but had to be cancelled after the Afghan foreign minister did not receive clearance to travel to Pakistan. The three countries will discuss the expansion of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) to Kabul, counterterrorism measures, and economic cooperation. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will arrive in Pakistan late on August 20 to take part in the Pak-China Strategic Dialogue in Islamabad. This will be right after his visit to New Delhi, where he is most likely to also intract with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. During the conference, Wang, Pakistan foreign minister Ishaq Dar and Afghan foreign minister Amir Khan Muttaqi will address trilateral issues of mutual interest, including CPEC expansion to Kabul, counterterrorism, rising militancy, and broader economic and trade matters. Wang and Doval are the designated special representatives for the boundary talks. The NSA had travelled to China in December last year and held the SR talks with Wang, weeks after Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping decided to revive various dialogue mechanisms between the two sides at a meeting in the Russian city of Kazan. Modi is expected to travel to China later this month to attend the SCO summit, which will make it his first since the Galwan Valley clashes in 2020. Both sides are in the process to repair bilateral ties, with reports of resumption of border trade as well as air travel. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. CM Fadnavis inaugurates 4 infrastructure projects

Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday inaugurated four Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) projects meant to provide better connectivity, reduce traffic congestion and enhance the public transport system in the city. Fadnavis inaugurated the projects in the presence of senior state leaders and officers including Metropolitan Commissioner Dr Sanjay Mukherjee. The projects include the last phase of the extension of the Santacruz Chembur Link Road (SCLR), the Mumbai Metro Simulator Training Centre at Mandale Depot and the Metro residential complex for staff in Malvani and Kalanagar Sub Flyover – Arm D. The SCLR extension boasts South Asia's first cable stayed bridge with a steep curve span of 100 metres. It links the Eastern and Western Express Highways without signals, reducing travel time between Chembur and Vile Parle by about an hour. The 1.66 km-corridor has a 215 metre orthotropic steel deck and was constructed at a cost of Rs 200 crore. Speaking at the occasion, Fadnavis said, 'The completion of the final phase of the Santacruz–Chembur Link Road, with South Asia's first sharp-curve cable-stayed bridge, is a proud achievement that will ease travel between the Eastern and Western Express Highways. With five out of six exit routes from BKC already complete.' The Mumbai Metro Simulator Training Centre stands as India's largest such centre. Constructed at Rs 70 crore, it has the capacity to train 144 personnel simultaneously through simulation based driving and maintenance systems. The centre will save Rs 255 crore in training expenditure over ten years and also serve metro staff from other cities of India. Kalanagar Sub Flyover – Arm D, 340 metres long, connects Dharavi to the Bandra-Worli Sea Link and enables unbroken commute between Dharavi and South Mumbai. It is constructed in a limited area at a cost of Rs 20 crore. Mukherjee said, 'The Mumbai Metro Simulator Training Centre, in particular, sets a new benchmark for workforce readiness, while the Santacruz Chembur Link Road and Kalanagar Flyover will significantly ease commuter congestion and reduce travel time.' Additionally, in Malvani, two 20-storey residential towers have been built for Metro employees, each accommodating 156 apartments with fire safety features and robotic car parking. Another 241 apartments are being built. The cost of the project is Rs 90 crore.
