His on-air conversation got a little heated when this sensitive subject was mentioned

Tom Hardy opened up about his time spent in Welsh seaside town during the filming of Netflix movie. Havoc, which is directed by Welsh man, Gareth Evans. The Hollywood star had a playful but pointedly dry exchange with Radio X DJ, Dominic Byrne this week, after the Radio X presenter cheekily poked fun at Barry Island's famous ghost train.
During Monday morning's Chris Moyles Show on April 28, Dominic's entertaining interview with the Havoc star quickly took a turn when the subject of Barry Island came up in the conversation.
At first, the conversation began lightly, with Tom answering questions about the show and teasing Dominic about not being Chris Moyles himself.
Tom, who has been speaking about what it was like filming the new Netflix thriller, Havoc, in Wales in a number of interviews - was also told by Dominic that people had spotted him on Barry Island during the interview. For the latest TV and showbiz gossip sign up to our newsletter
But when the ghost train got mentioned, the Venom star was keen to stick up for the Welsh attraction, where he was pictured enjoying a family day out back during the filming of Havoc in 2021, more on those Welsh locations, here.
Dominic joked that the man running the ride was scarier than the attraction itself, prompting Tom to respond: 'You can't say that.'

'He might be listening,' the actor pointed out, clearly keen to stick up for Barry Island.
'That's just a terrible thing to say about Barry Island, isn't it?'

Tom went on to say he'd had a great time there, mentioning family trips and his fondness for the two penny arcade machines.
He noted: 'I went with my family, and there's also the two penny machines. You know, the slidey machines?', adding: 'They're very addictive.'
He also cautioned that they are best enjoyed in moderation.
Tom said: 'They're not healthy, okay? So, in moderation. But they are good fun.'
Back in the studio, Moyles and the rest of the team enjoyed every second of the sarcastic exchange, with Pippa Taylor pointing out that Dominic got properly told off.
'We were warming him up,' Dominic insisted, although Tom's dry delivery made it hard to tell if he was joking or not.

Maniac killed and dismembered 19-year-old college student on their first date
A Wisconsin man killed and dismembered a 19-year-old college student on their first date after watching a Netflix show that depicted an eerily similar mutilation. Maxwell Anderson was convicted of homicide and dismembering a corpse for the horrific killing of Sade Robinson on April 1, 2024 - just days after the two met at a bar. The pair had spent the late afternoon and early evening of the fateful date at two bars before going back to Anderson's apartment. At one point, Anderson turned on the Netflix series "Love, Death & Robots." The finale of Season 2 is an episode called 'The Drowned Giant' which shows a gruesome dismantling of a human body on a beach. Prosecutors in the case claimed that Anderson mutilated Robinson's body on a Wisconsin beach overlooking Lake Michigan. 'I was like... that's disgusting because that could have been where he got some of his ideas or fantasies,' juror Melissa Blascoe told the Milwaukee-Journal Sentinal. 'I physically felt like I was gonna throw up at that point. I know a lot of people were shaking and crying.' Anderson was also charged with arson and hiding a corpse in connection with her death. He was found guilty on all counts. Investigators said that Anderson is believed to have spread her remains around Milwaukee County and burned her car to hide evidence. Anderson and Robinson had met at a bar a week before she disappeared, Assistant District Attorney Ian Vance-Curzan said. Disturbing images showed Robinson being groped by Anderson while she lay face down on his couch, and prosecutors said she was far too incapacitated to have resisted. Surveillance video showed Robinson's car leaving the apartment in the early hours of April 2 before arriving at a county park along Lake Michigan shores. The young student's disappearance sparked concern when she didn't appear for work the next day. Her manager, Justin Romano, told CNN that Robinson was 'very outgoing, she would talk to everybody here. She was always there to lighten the mood.' Romano said her not showing up for work 'wasn't like her at all,' and added: 'We kind of knew something was up; we had been calling her all day.' Anderson is believed to have dismembered her body into pieces and burned her car behind an abandoned building before taking a bus back to his apartment, Vance-Curzan said. Within the car, despite 'extreme fire damage,' investigator's identified the outfit Robinson had been wearing on the night of the date as well as part of an iPhone consistent with hers burned in the car, CNN reported. Police then were called to Warnimont Park where a human leg, that appeared to have been 'sawn off' at the hip, was discovered. The leg was then identified as Robinson's. A 'confidential informant' claimed that Anderson had planned to kill Robinson weeks prior to her death, Fox News reported. Anderson's attorney, Tony Cotton, argued, however, that the prosecution showed no evidence of Anderson's intention to kill Robinson. Cotton also pointed out he made no attempt to conceal himself on public transport home, and was wearing clean clothes despite having allegedly cut up her body in a muddy park. Jurors reached their verdict within an hour on the ninth day of trial. 'While we are satisfied with this verdict, our hearts go out to the family of Sade Robinson,' Vane-Curzan said, Fox News reported. Milwaukee County Sheriff's Det. JoAnn Donner spent months working on the case and said: 'My heart goes out to the family and [Robinson's] friends and really, the community at large. 'It's everyone's come together, and it's really hard to take that step back as a law enforcement officer and not get that really emotionally involved during the case,' she continued. 'I will admit that I did go back to my office after the verdict, and I had a good cry because I finally got to have that emotion. It does affect us too.' Robinson's mother, Sheena Scarbrough, said in a GoFundMe for her daughter's memorial service that Robinson was a 'loving daughter, a cherished sister, and a dear friend to many.' 'The pain of losing Sade has left a void in the hearts of her family, especially her grieving mother and little sister, along with other relatives, friends and the entire community who loved and supported her,' the fundraiser said. Anderson is set for sentencing on August 15, where he faces a mandatory life sentence in prison.

Set in acres of lush grounds, as you wind along the tree-lined driveway with a beautfully manicured golfing green beside you, as well as water features and wildlife (we spotted a swan and her babies), any cares will be relinquished long before you reach the building itself. In fact it's so special that it's a favourite destination for Hollywood A-listers Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively when they visit the football team he co-owns, Wrexham FC - and they can often be seen entertaining their famous friends there too. And why wouldn't they? Carden Park is about nine miles from Wrexham and has 197 stunning bedrooms (currently undergoing a major makeover) including four luxury suites, a newly-refurbished leisure club, two championship golf courses and award-winning restaurants including The Vines which offers a fine-dining tasting menu. There's also a vineyard and a new £10m spa with one of the largest spa gardens in the UK, which wouldn't look out of place in the Maldives or on a Caribbean island. During our stay the ongoing refurbishment was evident in the upper corridor as one half was light and airy with plush new carpet and contemporary pale wooden doors while the other half was a little dated. Our refurbished room overlooking the sculpture garden at the front was elegant but homely in shades of blue with floor to ceiling curtains and an ensuite featuring a huge walk-in shower. (Image: Karen Price) We decided to explore and our first port of call was Morgan's Bar where you can enjoy a drink and watch sport on the large TVs. There's also a terrance overlooking the front lawn so we took our drinks outside to people watch before having a walk through the grounds, taking in the sculpture garden featuring a diverse collection of artwork from leading sculptors and the vineyard which produces up to 10,000 bottles of Carden Park Estate Reserve sparkling wine each year from the two grape varieties grown. (Image: Karen Price) Back inside we had a quick change before heading to The Vines where we had a reservation. Before their meal, guests can relax in Goldie's cocktail bar opposite the restaurant with a drink and some snacks as they look through the menu. The surroundings are glamorous but not stuffy with comfy chairs and sofas, a beautiful golden ornate ceiling, low lighting, potted plants and large windows opening up onto a terrace. A pianist was playing background music in the corner adding to the chilled vibe. (Image: Carden Park) After about 30 minutes of relaxing, we were called into The Vines, which had a similar atmosphere to Goldie's, and we were shown into a corner seat where we would be enjoying the tasting menu (you can go for meat, fish or vegetarian options), which costs £105pp and you can add a wine flight for £90pp. The Vines, which has three AA Rosettes and is available as a private dining venue, is led by Executive Chef Graham Tinsley and Head Chef Harri Williams and also offers an a la carte menu. (Image: Carden Park) After being offered a choice of bread (olive sourdough for me) it was straight onto the first dish, Confit Carrot which had a lovely little kick thanks to its Asian dressing while the miso cracker added a crunch. The second course was Chicken Raviolo with Morrel mushrooms, pea salsa, chervil and wild garlic sauce, which was probably my favourite savoury course. The salsa was smooth and silky while the mushrooms gave the dish texture. Next up was a Crab Tartlet which also featured Japanese seaweed Nori, cucumber, Carden gin, smoked crab emulsion, apple and marigold. As well as being as pretty as a picture, it was really light and refreshing. (Image: Karen Price) Fourth to arrive was Welsh Hogget served rare with with asparagus, baby gem, black garlic puree, hogget belly bacon, crispy sweetbreads, sheep's yoghurt and a light jus. My partner isn't a fan of lamb but he was able to swap for Roasted Monkfish from the fish menu - which he says was his favourite dish of all. Served with seared scallop, togarashi cauliflower and spring onion, the fish was succulent and covered in a delicious creamy sauce. (Image: Karen Price) Why have one dessert when you can have two and that's what you got here. The first offering was Raspberry and Amalfi Lemon which was a lemon iced parfait with raspberry curd, lemon Madeline and raspberry sorbet and every bit as light and refreshing as it sounds. But my favourite was the Dark Chocolate Mousse which had a beetroot sponge, mascarpone, cocoa nib crumb and beetroot sorbet. Yes you read that right - who would have thought the humble earthy vegetable could be the basis of one of the best puddings I've tasted. The combination with the rich dark chocolate was simply delightful. There is also the option of a cheese board for a £5 supplement or as an additional course for £17 featuring a selection of cheeses, grapes and celery with jam. To finish off, you can enjoy a coffee with a selection of petit fours just like the ones that were left in our room, which we just about managed after all those lovely courses. While we dined like kings - or Hollywood royalty - the next morning we were up early ready to sample the hotel's breakfast, which features full English and continental choices, and after a little breather we headed to the spa. (Image: Carden Park) Housed in a new building a stone's throw from the main hotel, the spa (strictly for over 18s) is quite literally out of this world. From elaborate interiors to a breathtaking garden that features hot tubs, a pool, relaxation pods and a sauna with floor to ceiling windows looking across the Cheshire countryside, this is chilling at its best. There's also a variety of treatments on offer, from facials to foot and scalp rituals and manicures. I chose the Rejuvenating Ritual (£109 for 50 minutes) which combined a back, neck and shoulder massage with a facial. Bliss. Before heading home we enjoyed lunch in the spa restaurant overlooking the gardens which offers a selction of healthy options including all day brunches, sandwiches and wraps, salads and lighter bites. All of the facilities at Carden Park - from the bedrooms to the restaurants and spa - are exceptional and the staff are super friendly and helpful. Leaving the resort after our 24-hour stay we felt relaxed, pampered - and definitely like Hollywood royalty.
