Here's what the cast of Love Is Blind UK season one is up to now, a year on
To recap, six couples (more on them in a moment) from the first UK edition of the hit dating franchise found love in the pods and got engaged. But not all of them made it down the aisle and ended the season with an 'I do'. Whether or not their marriages proved to be a success, one thing we know to be sure is that appearing on the show had a life-changing impact for them and for the other singles, which we'll take a look at here.
Before we do that, let's remind ourselves of the timeline of Love is Blind UK season one. The first UK edition landed on Netflix last year, but filming for it actually took place in August and September of 2023. That means it's been two years since the first Love is Blind UK contestants made their way into the infamous pods. With that in mind, let's uncover where the cast of Love is Blind UK season one is now...
Despite getting married at the end of season one, a happy-ever-after wasn't to be for Sabrina and Steven, who split up after less than a year and are currently in the process of getting their marriage annulled.
Speaking about the split, and her life since, Sabrina told Netflix's Tudum that she was "rooting" for them as a couple but now believes their connection was "too good to be true", with distance taking a toll on their relationship. Sabrina went on to explain that "life is very different" to how she imagined after the show. "It's been a bit of a roller coaster," she added, revealing she is currently single and choosing to focus on her career since establishing her own marketing agency. "I got to hire my first employee this year within four months of setting up the company," she said. "My goal is to just keep on growing."
Steven also agrees that distance impacted their relationship as well as the "pressures" of the real world. "We just weren't compatible. We had different communication styles and expectations of each other, particularly when under pressure," he added. Like Sabrina, Steven is now single but told Netflix's Tudum he isn't looking for love right now. "It's not like I could date with any intent and say, 'Do you want to watch me get married on TV?'," he said. "I'm going to have to ride that wave for a little bit and see what happens."
Maria and Tom's romance came to a rocky end on season one and the pair couldn't reconcile over that split-the-bill moment. Reflecting, one year on, Maria told Tudum she felt "a bit deceived" by Tom's intentions while they were dating, while he maintained that they had a "strong connection" but didn't align on core values. "There were clearly things that we didn't match on in terms of our values," he said, "but hopefully we can look back on it and really celebrate the positives in our relationship."
As for where they are now, Maria is single and still looking for love. "I'm waiting for the sexy men," she said, referring to the lack of DM slides she's received so far. "They're not here yet." Romantic connections aside, Maria said she's proud of representing the Muslim community on TV – which she's had plenty of praise for. "They [the Muslim women who've reached out to her] have shown me nothing but endless love and it's just made me feel so much better about actually going down this route, because I was quite nervous and anxious."
For Tom, the search for love also continues – but he's not searching in his DMs. Describing himself as "hideously single", he said that he's "tried to keep away" from his DMs since the show aired.
A true love story from season one, fans will be pleased to know that Jasmine and Bobby are still together. Since filming Love is Blind UK season one, the pair moved into their own apartment and earlier this year announced on Instagram that they are expecting their first child.
As well as working on their own relationship, the couple has been building closer bonds with their family, particularly Jasmine's mother. "We've built on our relationship and become very close," Bobby said of their dynamic, which was strained on the show initially. "They're besties now," Jasmine added. "Families do argue and have misunderstandings. But it's about doing better, being better, and just learning from it," she went on.
Despite Demi's "no" to Ollie at the altar, a year on from season one, the pair confirmed they are still in contact as friends. "We're in a really good place now and genuinely best friends," Ollie told Tudum of their current relationship. "We speak quite regularly, comment on each other's Instagrams, and wind each other up. I'm glad that not making it to marriage wasn't necessarily the end of our friendship."
Meanwhile, Demi said the most important relationship that came from her time on the show was the one she's built with herself. "I fell in love with Ollie and envisioned him to be my husband," she explained. "But I fell in love with myself so much deeper. It was the perfect love story for me."
Since filming, Demi has found passion in further opening up about her experience with endometriosis. "It's really empowered me," she said, adding that while she doesn't know what the future holds, she wants to "keep being an advocate" and raising awareness of the condition.
As for Ollie, he had a brief romance with fellow contestant Sharlotte after filming, but the pair eventually went their separate ways. That being said, he has found love elsewhere and is currently engaged *and* expecting a baby. Everlasting love wasn't on the cards for Catherine and funeral director Freddie. While she said "I do" at the altar, he walked away but told Tudum the pair are pals a year on from filming. "We're still friends, and I have a lot of love for her," he told Tudum.
While things didn't work out for Catherine and Freddie romantically, she's gone on to find love with another season one cast mate: Jake. "It's been nearly a year," she told Tudum of her new relationship, before touching on backlash she's received on social media because of it. "I'm taking a step back [from posting] just because people are hating, but it's fine," she went on. "I'm just doing a lot of work on myself and enjoying every moment as [much as] I can."
Freddie, on the other hand, is still single and hasn't been able to get Catherine out of his mind so easily. "Not long after me and Cat broke up, she started dating somebody from the pods," he said, admitting this was "difficult" to process. He did however, also have a stint on Perfect Match season three, but we're not sure how well this has turned out for him.
Despite the chaotic start to their romance, Nicole – who initially coupled up with a different cast mate on the show – and Benaiah are still happily married. "Now I'm very comfortable and confident in us," Benaiah said of their relationship, adding that being able to work on their marriage without cameras around has been "really good".
Reflecting on the season, and where she is now, Nicole said she hasn't spoken to Sam – whom she initially paired with – and has regrets about how the situation was handled. "Sam was lying about our physical intimacy and saying I was trying to sleep with him. That was all a lie," she told Tudum. "I was always trying to take the high road, but then I confused taking the high road with speaking my truth. I wish I'd stood up for myself in that moment."
Looking to the future, Nicole and Benaiah are planning to have another wedding. "None of my family could be there [at their TV nuptials" because my granddad was so ill," Benaiah explained, adding that it's "important" for the couple to "celebrate" their marriage and where they are now.
Following his time on season one – and his split from Nicole – Sam told Tudum that he's been working on himself, but maintained that he was incorrectly perceived as the "villain and walking red flag" on the show.
"I'm on my healing journey right now," Sam said, explaining that he wanted to be "the best version" of himself when he found the one. And find the one he did, earlier this year he confirmed on Instagram that he's now engaged to Shani Goldstein, an Israeli radio star. "'Here goes nothing' 💍🥂," the pair said in a joint Instagram post on 16 July.
On season one of Love is Blind UK, Natasha found herself in a love triangle with Tom and Maria. When he eventually chose to marry Maria, Natasha was heartbroken, but has since told Tudum that was the best thing that could have happened to her and that appearing on the series has "changed" how she dates.
"Before, I was looking for someone to complete me; whereas now I'm waiting for the right man to meet me, so we can do life together," she explained. "I've grown so much confidence," Natasha added, going on to say that while she's currently single, she's not actively searching for a partner. "[The experiment] reminded me of exactly what I bring to the table," she went on, noting that she's now prepared to go into future romances with a better understanding of what she wants from a husband.
Speaking about whether there's any chance of a reconciliation with former flame Tom, Natasha said that door is firmly closed. "We connected and had lots of emotional intense chats in the pods, so it would be nice to have him as a friend in my life in some kind of capacity," she told Tudum. "But I'd be silly to explore that again. I put up a big wall because I needed to keep myself guarded."
Jake didn't find love in the pods on Love is Blind UK season one... but he did find love with Catherine after the show ended, when Freddie left her at the altar. The pair began their romance with regular FaceTimes over five weeks, according to an interview Catherine gave to Heat, before they spent a weekend together. The rest was history, she explained, adding: "Now we live together with the dog."
Jake and Catherine are clearly *very* loved up, frequently posting couples photos on their Instagrams and jetting off on holidays.

"I'd lost all focus about getting healthy, and the focus became winning," the series' first champion, Ryan Benson, says in the docuseries. "In the end, it worked out great because I won, but I was doing what most doctors would say were super unhealthy things. The last 10 days, I didn't put any food in my body." He says he sustained himself on lemon juice, maple syrup and cayenne pepper. Season 11 winner Olivia Ward lost 129 pounds on the popular series. 'It made hundreds of millions of dollars, and (the) reason was not because of the fat shaming, it was the hope that people saw every week,' Ward tells USA TODAY. Tracey Yukich collapses during a challenge Tracey Yukich, a mom of four, started Season 8 weighing 250 pounds. 'There was infidelity in my marriage, a lot,' Yukich says in the docuseries. 'I thought it was my fault because I was fat.' With tears welling in her eyes, Yukich elaborates on the changes she wanted to see in her life: 'I don't want to be disrespected. I don't want to be yelled at. I don't want to be harmed.' On the first day of filming "Loser," Yukich and her fellow contestants had to run a mile on a beach. With so much on the line, Yukich darted for the finish line, but her body began shutting down. She went from running to crawling to being pulled to the end by her competitors, and then she collapsed. Yukich had developed rhabdomyolysis, described by the Cleveland Clinic as a condition that causes muscles to disintegrate. "When this happens, toxic components of your muscle fibers enter your circulation system and kidneys.' Yukich tells USA TODAY that she spent more than three weeks in the hospital before resuming the competition, and ultimately shedding 118 pounds. "I was angry that I had an accident like that, and I was angry that I was put in such great danger.' Yukich has continued to focus on her fitness and says she has run the Boston Marathon four times. 'I'm thankful that I was a part of (the show) because it did change my life,' she says. 'I really meant what I said at the end (when I) said that I was the one that changed my life. I was the one that did the work.' Joelle Gwynn remembers being 'abused' by Bob Harper In the docuseries, Harper cheekily accuses Huizenga of 'maybe' having a God complex. 'No one was going to tell us what to do when it came to diet and exercise.' Dr. Jennifer Kerns, a Season 3 contestant, describes the show as a "great" experience. She lost more than 100 pounds and began working with Huizenga in a professional capacity. Kerns notes a constant 'bit of tension between Dr. Huizenga and the producers,' in 'Fit for TV. 'The producers needed to make good TV.' Joelle Gwynn, a contestant on Season 7, criticized the show for using trainers as pseudo-therapists. 'I think it's reckless for people to tip into serious areas,' Gwynn adds, 'and they're not qualified to handle this.' In an episode, Gwynn and Harper got into an explosive fight after Gwynn was unable to run on the treadmill for 30 seconds. Harper admits, 'My head blew off my shoulders.' 'I've never seen someone get abused like that,' Gwynn says in the docuseries. 'It was very, very, very, very embarrassing.' Others had a very different experience with Harper. 'KPop Demon Hunters' star Ahn Hyo-Seop on film's smash success, if Jinu could return
Actor Ahn Hyo-Seop loved animation as a kid, so being part of Netflix's surprise blockbuster "KPop Demon Hunters" has been a full circle moment for him. 'I thought the story had this very special energy that made me want to be part of the whole journey,' the 30-year-old tells USA TODAY. That journey has been a quick ride to the top. The PG-rated animated film about a K-pop girl group that uses songs and swords to save the world hit Netflix June 20 and almost immediately soared to the streamer's Top 10. Since then, its popularity has only grown, earning a near-perfect Rotten Tomatoes score (97%), a No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 (a rare feat for any K-pop song, let alone one from a soundtrack) and becoming Netflix's second most-watched movie in history. For Ahn, who voices the male lead Jinu alongside female lead Rumi (Arden Cho), the underlying success of 'KPop Demon Hunters' is its message. "Everyone makes mistakes; everyone has something they wish to hide or undo," he says. "Sometimes, the biggest obstacle isn't the world, it's ourselves, and Jinu and Rumi face that. Instead of running, they actually grow together, and I feel like that's something a lot of people can relate to." Beyond the film's message, Ahn credits its K-pop vibe and original songs as a major feat. "The sounds are really amazing, and it was really cool to see K-pop songs that actually touched people worldwide," he says. 'KPop Demon Hunters' marked milestones for Ahn Hyo-Seop "KPop Demon Hunters" is Ahn's first animated film and biggest role yet, but it's not his first brush with fame. The Korean-born actor who spent part of his youth in Canada has been building a global fanbase for a decade, both as a singer and as a lead actor in some of the buzziest K-dramas including "Dr. Romantic" Season 2, "Business Proposal" and "A Time Called You." He gravitated toward "KPop Demon Hunters" because the script "really grabbed me," he says, and presented a new challenge. "Expressing everything through just my voice, without my facial expressions or body, it was honestly a challenge in the beginning. I had to try a lot of different tones and versions of Jinu to get there. But thankfully, with the help of directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans and amazing crew, I got really comfortable." Portraying a character like Jinu, a man-turned-demon haunted by his past, was tricky. "Becoming a demon, it's not something you think of every day, right?" he says with a laugh. "I wasn't sure how to approach it, but as I got deeper into Jinu's backstory – his wounds, his doubts, the emotional weight he carries – I felt naturally connected to him. We all make mistakes in life, and I thought of some of my own, and that really helped me understand Jinu." 'KPop Demon Hunters' also marked Ahn's first English-language project. "I haven't been using English for a long time (after) living in Korea for like a decade," he says. "At first, I felt pretty rusty, but English was a language that I actually studied growing up, and I always had this dream of using it to act one day. Doing this project felt like finally unlocking something inside me, like opening a box I left untouched for years." Ahn is as excited for the future of 'KPop Demon Hunters' as the fans Like the film's vast fanbase, Ahn is caught up in Jinu and Rumi's will-they-won't-they relationship. "I stan them too," he says with a laugh. "I think it's about the pain and the agony that they had. I feel like it's about the company, like you can't solve your problems alone. You have to have somebody beside you, and they had the biggest connection." While Netflix has yet to announce a sequel, there's a high likelihood at least one more film will be greenlit given its international and sustained success. Just this week, Netflix announced it will screen "KPop Demon Hunters" at select U.S. movie theaters Aug. 23-24, with many offering a sing-along experience. So if there is a second film, will Jinu and Rumi reunite? "I mean, Jinu gave his soul so like I never really imagined how he would come back," Ahn says. "As someone who loves Jinu as a fan too, of course I would love to see him come back. But it's not up to me." Fans continue to show love for Jinu, with Ahn pointing out that in South Korea, people actually left flowers at Namsan Tower where the character died to mourn him. And no matter of what happens to Jinu and Rumi, Ahn is excited for the future of "KPop Demon Hunters". "I hope that this franchise continues to inspire people to embrace their shadows and their flaws and be able to still move forward," he says. "I'm a big fan too now, so I'll be waiting and cheering like everyone else."

Charlie Sheen admits he ‘lit the fuse' that blew his life apart as turbulent past resurfaces
Charlie Sheen's coming clean about his struggles in life after nearly eight years of sobriety. Sheen admitted he "lit the fuse" that blew his life apart in the early 2000s in the trailer for the upcoming Netflix documentary, "aka Charlie Sheen." The two-part series, which debuts Sept. 10, will track the rise and fall of Sheen's stardom during his drug use and violent past. "When you got a lot of shame about a lot of stuff ... shame is, shame is suffocating," Sheen explained in the trailer. "I lit the fuse, and, you know, my life turns into everything it wasn't supposed to be." The documentary will feature prominent people in Sheen's life, including ex-wives Denise Richards and Brooke Mueller, and "Two and a Half Men" creator Chuck Lorre and his former co-star Jon Cryer. One of Sheen's daughters with Richards also appears in the trailer, stating, "You can't really have a relationship with someone going through addiction." The TV star's former drug dealer also makes an appearance. "When Charlie said he was smoking seven‑gram rocks, he was smoking seven‑gram rocks," the dealer said. Actors Sean Penn and Chris Tucker are featured as well, with Penn stating, "Now, Charlie's sober. He's going to tell you the truth." Public scrutiny of Sheen's behavior seemingly first began in the late 1980s after he filmed "Wall Street." Sheen, who was in his 20s, had begun drinking all the time. "We shot in New York City, so I'd be out to the bars every night till 3 or 4 a.m., then try to show up for a 6 o'clock call to stand toe to toe with Michael Douglas and handle 50% of a scene," Sheen once admitted, according to IMDB. "How could that work? Yet there I was, the guy that struck gold, looking around at dawn to find that the only one still partying was me. I'd be drinking away, doing blow [cocaine], popping pills and telling myself I wasn't an addict because there wasn't a needle stuck in my arm. Talk about mixing up fantasy and reality. My true addiction was alcohol. "The extra-toxic boosters just helped me shore up the wall between my celebrity self and my real self. The questions I was running from were: 'Is this success all a fluke? Had I been fooling everybody so far? Will I get caught?' It was easy to get hammered and messed up. But, in doing so, I buried my self-respect, I buried my self-esteem, I buried my creative drive and I damned near buried myself." Despite multiple rehab stays throughout the next 10 years, Sheen overdosed on cocaine in 1998. The "Hot Shots!" actor had a stroke and was treated at the critical care unit at Los Robles Regional Medical Center, according to CBS News. "We are in the stages, right now, of recovery," his father, Martin Sheen, told reporters at the time. "It is my hope that he will accept recovery and become free. I am asking all of his friends and fans to pray for him." Things didn't seem to change for Sheen, who was arrested in 2009 after threatening wife Brooke Mueller on Christmas Day. Mueller called 911 Dec. 25, 2009, and told dispatch, "My husband had me with a knife. I was scared for my life, and he threatened me." She claimed the knife was a "switchblade," ABC News reported. Sheen eventually pleaded guilty as part of a plea agreement despite initially looking to have all the charges dismissed. He was sentenced to 30 days in rehab, 30 days of probation and 36 hours of anger management. Mueller and Sheen married in 2008 and share twin boys born in 2009. The former couple attempted to repair their marriage after the assault. However, they filed for divorce in 2010. Sheen listed the date of separation as Dec. 25, 2009, the same day as the alleged attack. Mueller and Sheen lost custody of the twins in 2013. The twins, Bob and Max, now live full-time with the actor, who has been sober since December 2017. "I've mostly been raising my 14-year-old boys," Sheen told People magazine in 2023. "Their mom has been trying to figure some stuff out on her end, so she's not in the picture too much right now. "They're really cool, really smart and really funny." Sheen was also fired from the hit show "Two and a Half Men" in 2011 due to his drug use, erratic behavior and public insults thrown at Chuck Lorre. The show continued with Ashton Kutcher until 2015. Since his firing, Sheen has repaired his relationship with Lorre, and the two have even worked together again. Sheen's co-star, Cryer, didn't share the same sentiment toward the actor's comeback. "When 'Two and a Half Men' was happening, Charlie was, like, the highest-paid actor in television," Cryer said on "The View" in 2024. "Yet, he blew it up, so you kind of have to think. I love him. I wish him the best. He should live in good health for the rest of his life, but I don't know if I want to get in business with him for any length of time." Sheen chose to go cold turkey from alcohol in 2017 after he wasn't able to drive his daughter to a morning doctor's appointment. At the time, he had already quit doing drugs. "I think the first month I was like, 'I'm going to have give it a month, just see if I feel any better, and if my interactions with those that are closest to me improve,'" he told People magazine in 2023. "And they did. And I'm like, all right, I'm going to go another month. And then it got traction. I had momentum. "There was just instant evidence that this was the side I needed to be on. I couldn't be in denial about it anymore."
