Aug. 5 (UPI) -- Paramount Pictures is previewing the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover's book Regretting You, starring Allison Williams and McKenna Grace.
Williams and Grace portray Morgan and Grace Grant, a mother and daughter whose lives are upended when a car accident kills Morgan's husband and her sister, Clara's Aunt Jenny.
Clara must navigate grief, her growing feelings for "the coolest guy in school" (Mason Thames), and her difficult relationship with her mother.
Dave Franco stars as Jenny's bereft husband, Jonah.
The trailer released Tuesday shows Jonah and Morgan learning their spouses were together for a reason when they died, and that realization "forces them to confront family secrets, redefine love and rediscover each other," according to an official description.
Scott Eastwood and Will Fitzgerald also star.
Josh Boone, who directed The Fault in Our Stars helms Regretting You, which arrives in theaters Oct. 24.
Hoover confirmed on social media that the film adaptations of her novels Reminders of Him and Verity have also finished production and will be released Feb. 6 2026, and Oct. 2, 2026, respectively.

The new trailer for Colleen Hoover's 'Regretting You' film — starring Allison Williams, Dave Franco and McKenna Grace — will make you feel everything

The film is headed to theaters Oct. 24, 2025. Passionate romance, crushing loss and deep family secrets: A new trailer just dropped for the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover's 2019 novel Regretting You, and it's looking like yet another weepy, life-affirming tale from the author that brought the world It Ends With Us. Regretting You centers on a tight-knit family. M3GHAN star Allison Williams plays Morgan, who is mom to teenager Clara with her high school sweetheart husband, Chris (Scott Eastwood). Her sister, Jenny, played by The Fall of the House of Usher star Willa Fitzgerald, is married to Jonah, portrayed by Dave Franco. At first, things seem great with the family: Clara is falling in love with 'coolest guy in school' Miller (Mason Thames). But then, as it often does in Hoover novels, tragedy strikes: Clara's aunt Jenny and father Chris die in a car accident together, leaving the rest of the family grieving … and with plenty of questions. Why were Jenny and Chris together? Could they have been having an affair? Morgan did always say her sister was a little too good at keeping secrets. Fans of the book will know how this story plays out, but you don't need to have read the novel to know you should probably bring tissues to the theater. As Franco's and Williams's characters grieve, they're pulled toward one another, just as Clara is falling in love for the first time and feeling guilty about her newfound happiness. It's a swirl of emotions for everyone! Hoover, who initially self-published her first novel, Slammed, in 2012, before she was signed by a major publisher, has become one of the most popular authors of the BookTok era, with several of her 26 novels getting the big screen treatment. The Justin Baldoni adaptation of her novel It Ends With Us hit theaters in August 2024 — and while the film has been at the center of the ongoing legal battle between Baldoni and his costar Blake Lively, it hasn't stopped additional interest in Hoover's work. In addition to Regretting You, Hoover's psychological thriller Verity will become an Amazon movie starring Dakota Johnson and Anne Hathaway, who plays the titular character. The film drops Oct. 2, 2026. Meanwhile, Hoover's latest novel, Reminders of Him, which came out in 2022, is being adapted into a film with Maika Monroe and Tyriq Withers. It's slated for February 2026. Regretting You hits theaters on Oct. 24, 2025. Check out the trailer below. Solve the daily Crossword

New Visit California hub makes travel easier for tourists with disabilities

Visit California introduced an online hub with tips and guidance for accessible travel across the state. The hub, which launched on Aug. 5, encourages disabled travelers and others who might need special accommodations to take advantage of all the Golden State has to offer. The tourism board partnered with disabled travel content creators and advocates to ensure the resources would provide visitors with everything they need, whether they're taking a road trip or exploring museums in a city center. Sophie Morgan, an award-winning TV presenter and recent California transplant, partnered with Visit California on a promotional video campaign called "Joy Diversion" to bring awareness to how accessible the state can be. 'Since moving to California, I've been blown away by how easy and joyful road tripping can be,' Morgan said in a statement. 'This series is a reflection of that, it's about celebrating movement, spontaneity and the joy of the open road.' On the accessible travel hub, visitors and vacation planners can find resources like a listing of wheelchair-friendly hotels, Autism and sensory-friendly destinations throughout the state, FAQs about accessibility in California and more. "As the state prepares to host the FIFA World Cup in 2026 and the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028, Visit California is doubling down on its commitment to welcoming all travelers," Visit California said in a statement. "The Accessibility Hub and Joy Diversion series are part of the broader Playful Journeys platform, reinforcing California's reputation as a destination where freedom, inclusion and adventure go hand in hand."
