A pair of Steelers rookies are the current No. 34 wearers on the roster — CB Donte Kent, who was selected with the 229th overall pick in the seventh round, and RB Max Hurleman, who signed with Pittsburgh as an undrafted free agent in May. Kent may have an easier road to making the 53-man roster with his punt return abilities, but Hurleman has every opportunity to make an impact throughout camp and the upcoming preseason matchups.

Best No. 34 in Steelers history: LB Andy Russell
No Steeler has ever worn No. 34 better than LB Andy Russell — a ten-time team captain and part of arguably the greatest linebacker trio in the history of the NFL. Selected with the 220th pick in the 16th round of the 1963 NFL Draft, Russell was arguably one of the most consistent Steelers of all time, playing in 168 games for Pittsburgh — and never missing a contest due to injury.
Russell won two Super Bowls with the legendary Steel Curtain defense, as well as earning seven Pro Bowl nominations, one First-Team All-Pro selection, and two Second-Team All-Pro selections before retiring in 1976. He was also named to the Pittsburgh Steelers All-Time Team and the Pittsburgh Steelers Hall of Honor — a truly remarkable legacy, one that deserves to be recognized as the greatest Steeler to wear No. 34.

Texans OT Cam Robinson suffers lower-body injury during drills at The Greenbrier
The Houston Texans' offensive line can't afford to take another hit following the trade of five-time Pro Bowl left tackle Laremy Tunsil. Too bad fans can't wish for reality to set in. According to reports, offensive tackle Cam Robinson left practice early at The Greenbrier in West Virginia on Monday with a lower-leg injury in team drills. While he was able to walk off the field, it was clear he was in pain while favoring his left leg. He did not return to practice. Tay Ersery, who has seen most of his reps at the right tackle spot, shifted over to the left tackle role while Tytus Howard switched back to right tackle in place of second-year starter Blake Fisher. Juice Scruggs shifted inside to the right guard role while splitting reps with Ed Ingram in place of Howard. A former second-round pick out of Alabama, Robinson inked a one-year deal worth up to $14 million this offseason to replace Tunsil following his trade to the Washington Commanders. He spent the first seven years of his career with the Jacksonville Jaguars before being traded at the deadline last season to the Minnesota Vikings as a temporary replacement for injured left tackle Christian Darrisaw. He played in 11 games during his time in Minneapolis, helping the Vikings finish with the second-best record in the NFC while clinching a playoff spot, though his on-field play was mixed. While protecting Sam Darnold, he allowed four sacks and 49 pressures during his seven starts, including a career-worst 12 pressures in the wild-card round loss against the Los Angeles Rams. The Texans are already thin at offensive tackle, having Trent Brown begin the season on the PUP list. With Fisher not getting a chance to start in place of Ersery with the position switch, Houston might view him as a long-term swing tackle with minimal upside. This isn't to say Robinson is expected to miss time, nor should the Texans be hitting the panic mode yet, but a loss for Robinson at any point of the preseason is massive regarding the development of the offensive line long-term.

In a recent column for The Athletic, Zack Rosenblatt broke down a framework where the Cowboys star lands in the AFC with the New York Jets. In exchange for Parsons, Dallas receives three future draft picks, defensive end Jermaine Johnson, and running back Breece Hall. "The Cowboys get two talented young players at positions of need," Rosenblatt wrote. "Hall is in the last year of his deal while Johnson has another year left on his rookie deal and Dallas defensive line coach Aaron Whitecotton (with the Jets previously) knows what he's capable of — he made the Pro Bowl two years ago. He's no Parsons, but he has the potential to keep getting better with time and development." As a former first-round pick and Pro-Bowler, Johnson is certainly an intriguing young talent who could help fill the void left by Parsons. That said, the most notable piece of the return package is Hall. Hall might not be an elite-level talent, but he would still be an upgrade to what they've had recently. As a dual-threat back, he'd also provide Dak Prescott with another weapon in the passing game. Hall, 24, is coming off his second straight season of at least 1,300 scrimmage yards. He also found the end zone eight times (5 rushing TDs, 3 receiving TDs). At this point, all of this discourse remains hypothetical. Although Parsons asked out, the Cowboys don't appear like they're ready to honor such a request at this time.
