Sussexes hit back at claim that Harry and Prince Andrew had a fight in sensational royal book serialised in the Mail
The new biography, called Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, claims the Duke of Sussex and his uncle entered a violent altercation during a family gathering in 2013 over 'something Andrew said behind Harry's back'.
In extracts being serialised in the Daily Mail over the next five days, the book's author Andrew Lownie claimed 'Harry got the better of Andrew by all accounts', with Harry leaving his uncle 'with a bloody nose' before their brawl was broken up.
Later Andrew is said to have told Harry his marriage to Meghan Markle would not last more than a month and accused his nephew of going 'bonkers' and not doing any due diligence into her past.
Last night, representatives for the Duke of Sussex denied the fight ever happened, adding that Andrew never made the alleged comments about Harry.
A spokesman for the Duke of Sussex told the Daily Mail: 'I can confirm Prince Harry and Prince Andrew have never had a physical fight, nor did Prince Andrew ever make the comments he is alleged to have made about the Duchess of Sussex to Prince Harry.'
In the explosive new biography, Prince Andrew was dubbed 'sex obsessed' and a 'perverted animal' by convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
There was even a long-standing rumour of an affair with a household staff member when he was still married to the Duchess of York. One nanny is said to have left because he made unwelcome advances.
However, a family friend also described the prince as 'not very socially adept' and a 'bedroom bore' when it comes to women. 'He's about as subtle as a hand grenade,' said another.
As a young man Andrew was said to be juvenile and fond of sly pranks - and sources said not much changed as an adult.
One friend described him as a 'nightmare to sit next to at dinner', making ghastly jokes about whether the ladies are wearing knickers and 'lavatorial' jokes.
At the same time he has a strong sense of of his own position as a senior member of the Royal Family, demanding people call him 'Your Royal Highness' and 'Sir' and insisting people stand up when he comes into the room.
Some aides have been reduced to tears, while another was moved to different duties because Andrew 'disliked a mole on the man's face'.

In a crowded field, Stuart Broad has emerged as Sky Cricket's new all-rounder
An excellent day's cricket that could and maybe should have been a stone-cold classic, superbly covered on Sky Sports, and it fell to the channel's emerging star man Stuart Broad to ask the question that fans were all thinking on Sunday evening when he wondered: 'Still 20 minutes away from possible start time, everyone has their sunglasses on at the train station. Felt the supporters deserved to see a finish to that Test Match today. Felt a lazy decision to call it off at 6pm in my opinion. I wonder who makes it?' Broad was right to query whether the umpires and ground staff could have done more, nailing the key moment of the evening's narrative, and with an eye for the provocative as well: further evidence that he is shaping up to be the complete all-rounder in his media career in a way he once, briefly and thrillingly, threatened to be on the field of play. As long as Varun Aaron doesn't reinvent himself as a TV critic, there seems to be no stopping Broad's frictionless glide towards cricket media world domination. It is to the credit of Sky Cricket head honcho Bryan Henderson and the team that, even in the strongest talent line-up in British sports broadcasting, Broad is already a standout. They had identified Broad while he was still playing, they blooded him during some lower-profile matches with an arm-around-the-shoulder approach and have developed him. It is clear Broad himself has the brains, ego and work ethic to want to get seriously good on the TV. He is also adept at the social media and not shy of putting himself about a bit, be it doing a book called, natch, Broadly Speaking (interested), running upmarket pubs (sure, why not) and flogging his own-label South African rosé (perhaps not). He is already holding his own against quality technical analysts like Ricky Ponting, Nasser Hussain and Michael Atherton, and is also charismatic and telegenic enough to do the more knockabout features as well. There was a fun segment on Sunday lunchtime where Hussain and Broad went around the home dressing room at the Oval, with Broad offering countless little nuggets about which players sit where, who are the biggest bat-chuckers and so on. He pointed out a poster the players attach to the wall to make sure they always feel they are the owners of the space, the home side. 'We take this poster around everywhere… I say we. He is still clearly personally and sportingly close to the current men in the arena but shrewd enough, outwardly anyway, not to seem like he's pining too much for his era, the in-my-day trap that has ensnared many a former great and made them a commentary box bore. Based on what he has said during this series, the telly role has been the ideal soft landing: 'I have walked into a new changing room,' he said of the Sky Studio. 'I am getting into a new groove, improving. I don't miss being in there [the England camp] but I wish everyone the best of luck.' This superb Test match has had a bittersweet flavour because of the celebration and memorial for Graham Thorpe and while his suicide, as all are, sounds like it was multifactorial and complex, cricket lovers might have found themselves ruminating about the huge and distressing changes that these former playing greats have to go through when they are ejected from the only life they have known: being a person, sadly, turning out to be even harder than being a Test cricketer. Sky, as it has done with issues of racism in cricket, leaned into the Thorpe moment with compassion, finesse and heart. Its cricket coverage remains the gold standard and, for this viewer at least, a more enticing proposition for a day's watching than the £185 ticket price for the Saturday at Lord's. Revealed: How Meghan Markle's 'warm, friendly, hug-everyone approach' caused tension in the 'rather awkward' royal household
Once upon a time, the so-called 'fab four' - comprising Prince Harry, Meghan, Prince William and Kate - were the Royal Family 's dream team. Indeed when Harry and Meghan started dating, Kate and William reportedly found the former actress 'delightful' - with the young royals appearing at a number of engagements together. Fast forward to the present and, while the so-called 'peace summit' in July 2025 suggests that relations between the Sussexes and the Prince and Princess of Wales could be thawing, both camps appear to be a long way from a reconciliation. It has been widely established that Meghan was at the centre of the tension between Harry and William in particular. But one royal author has claimed the falling out was to do with how the Duchess of Sussex acted, not what she said. Meghan's 'warm, friendly, hug-everyone approach' ruffled feathers, according to Tom Quinn's history of royal servants, titled Yes, Ma'am. He wrote: 'It made William uncomfortable because [Meghan] hugged him virtually every time they bumped into each other.' The prince's opposition to the displays of affection was not due to a dislike of Meghan but concern for what courtiers might think. 'The hugging and cheek kissing fuelled gossip among the staff that Meghan was flirting with William, which she was obviously not. But the tense atmosphere caused by all the touchy-feeliness (and the resultant gossip) deepened the rift between the brothers,' Quinn said. Likewise, Meghan clashed with William's 'rather awkward, even inhibited personality' - which she reportedly found 'baffling'. Quinn wrote: 'A member of staff recalled Meghan asking, "Why do William and Charles sound so serious all the time?" 'She used to make jokes about Harry not having the same parents as William, as she insisted, "Harry isn't pompous at all. He's chill".' But it was Meghan's treatment of staff while working as a royal that put the most strain on the princes' relationship. Concerns were raised to the Sussexes about their alleged behaviour towards staff as early as 2017, it was reported in Robert Lacey's Battle of Brothers book. Meghan would send emails as early as 5am, leaving staff with a 'barrage' of messages in their inboxes, a Kensington Palace source claimed. The couple reigned over a 'really toxic environment' which saw colleagues shaking before meetings alongside allegations of bullying, they added. There was even a claim the encounters left one employee with PTSD. While Meghan brushed off a complaint about her conduct from a senior aide, claiming 'it's not my job to coddle people', Prince William did not respond so flippantly to the issue. When Jason Knauf – a royal aide who worked with the Sussexes – presented William with a 'dossier of distress' about their behaviour he 'went ballistic' and was left 'astonished' and 'horrified' by what he heard, according to Lacey. William's anger stemmed from the fact that a tradition of treating the staff 'like family' had been broken and that he personally knew many of those named, Lacey wrote. Harry and his brother then allegedly had a testy phone call, in which the Duke of Sussex 'flared up in a fierce defence of his wife'. Lacey added: 'The moment the prince heard the bullying allegations, he got straight on the phone to talk to Harry – and when Harry flared up in furious defence of his wife, the elder brother persisted. 'Harry shut off his phone angrily, so William went straight round to find his brother on the Kensington campus.' As early as 2019, rumours of a falling out between the brothers began circulating. It was first addressed by Harry in the documentary Harry & Meghan: An African Journey, with him saying: 'You have good days, you have bad days.' By 2020, tensions appeared to have deepened when Harry and Meghan announced their plans to step back as senior royals. Harry later claimed in his Netflix series with Meghan that William shouted at him during the Sandringham summit. The brothers were last publicly together at Queen Elizabeth II's funeral in September 2022, though they both attended the private funeral for their uncle Robert Fellowes last summer. The estrangement between the two princes had been 'hard and sad ', Knauf revealed in an Australian documentary this year. He said: 'We have ups and downs in family. Even when you really love someone, you can have times when you don't want to spend that much time with them. 'It's very difficult to have this stuff play out in the public eye, but [William's] chosen to keep his thoughts on it private and I think all of us who know him really have to respect that. 'We should do the same, but I will say of course it's been hard and sad - especially for all of us who know both of them.' Meghan's 'touchy-feely' style does have some fans. Producer Jane Marie, who worked with Harry and Meghan during the development of Archewell Audio projects, insisted to Vanity Fair that Meghan is 'just a lovely, genuine person'. Other staff members have claimed that she would send her employees gifts ranging from dog leashes to skincare products.
