John Cena has ignited speculation about another potential dream match for his 2025 farewell tour. In a cryptic social media post, the 17-time world champion has teased a final encounter with one of his greatest rivals, the current World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins.
The post has the WWE Universe buzzing about a potential blockbuster match between two of the most decorated superstars of the last decade.
Living up to his social media reputation, John Cena posted a photo to his Instagram account with no caption. The image was a picture of Seth Rollins celebrating with the World Heavyweight Championship moments after his shocking Money in the Bank cash-in at SummerSlam.
While Cena's Instagram is famously random, his posts often contain hidden meanings. The timing of this post, combined with his recent comments, has fans convinced it is a deliberate tease.

John Cena's "Wrestling Soulmate"
This social media post comes just a week after Cena, in an interview with the Boston Herald, specifically named Seth Rollins as one of his "wrestling soulmates." He included Rollins in an elite group of his greatest opponents, alongside stars like Randy Orton, Edge, and CM Punk.

A Classic WWE Rivalry Revisited
A final match between Cena and Rollins would be another chapter in one of the best rivalries of the 2010s. For over a year, they were the top babyface and top heel on the Raw brand. Their feud was highlighted by a series of classic matches, including a "Winner Take All" match for both the WWE and United States Championships at SummerSlam 2015.

That feud is also remembered for its intensity, as Rollins legitimately broke Cena's nose with a knee strike during a match on Raw. Now, a decade later, their characters have evolved, but a final match between the two would be a massive attraction.
John Cena is currently on his farewell tour, with his final match expected to take place this December. His schedule is already packed with legendary encounters. He is set to face Logan Paul at Clash in Paris on August 31, followed by a blockbuster grudge match against the returning Brock Lesnar in September.

Rumor Roundup (Aug. 20, 2025): Chris Jericho WWE return, Naomi pregnancy, LA Knight move, ADR, more!
Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill. Important reminder: Rumors are just that — rumors. None of this has been confirmed as fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. We track rumor accuracy in a weekly feature called Rumor Look Back you can find here. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt. Rumors for the Day: On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said there has been a lot of talk within WWE of Chris Jericho making his return when his contract expires at the end of the year. There is apparently a belief that his return is inevitable. Per Fightful Select, Naomi's pregnancy has led to 'huge creative shifts' within WWE. It's still not clear, however, how WWE will determine a new women's world champion. Folks have noticed that LA Knight's profile on the website now appears on the Raw roster, signifying his official switch. On Lucha Libre Online, Hugo Savinovich claimed there are many people in WWE who want Alberto Del Rio to make his return, and Roman Reigns is apparently one of those people. A fun one: TC at WrestleVotes says The New Day personally wrote the news article that appeared on the T-shirt Corey Graves showed on Raw this week. If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you'd like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Just remember they are rumors and not confirmed as fact, so please take them as such.

When does 'Peacemaker' Season 2 come out? Premiere date, time, cast, where to watch
John Cena is back to spread more peace with Season 2 of "Peacemaker." Based on the character from James Gunn's 2021 film "The Suicide Squad," the series follows the "explosive escapades" of Peacemaker, "a compellingly vainglorious man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it," according to HBO. In Season 2 of the series, Peacemaker "discovers an alternate world where life is everything he wishes it could be." However, it is also puts him in a position where he is forced "to face his traumatic past and take the future into his own hands." Cena, during a Season 2 panel for the action-comedy series at Comic-Con, said Peacemaker 'is going through a rough patch in life and thinks the grass might be greener on the other side.' 'That's something people can relate to," the actor had added. All eight episodes of "Peacemaker" Season 2 have been written by James Gunn, who also directed three episodes this season, including the first. "Peacemaker" is also the first original DC show to have its series premiere on HBO Max, according to HBO Max Head of Original Content Sarah Aubrey. Gunn, meanwhile, at Comic-Con teased that Season 2 is more extreme than the first and is definitely not for kids – there's a very sexual situation in the first episode that made actor Steve Agee (John Economos) think 'it's insane we're showing it on cable.' Mercedes' Toto Wolff Left Embarrassed by His Cameo Scene in F1 Movie
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Mercedes AMG Formula One team principal Toto Wolff has opened up on his cameo scene in the F1 movie, revealing that it makes him "cringe" every time he watches it. The F1 movie made big headlines in the world of entertainment and premier-class racing, with the box office collection nearing $600 million. The movie became popular for its F1 realism, given that its co-producer, Lewis Hamilton, was in charge of ensuring the movie portrayed the sport in the most realistic way. Filming took place on actual Grand Prix weekends to ensure everything looked genuine, including the other drivers and teams. Brad Pitt, playing the role of veteran driver Sonny Hayes, is called into the APXGP F1 team to transform it into a winning outfit and help rookie driver Joshua Pearce, played by Damson Idris. Wolff's cameo role arrived after Pearce crashed out in the final stages of the season finale in Abu Dhabi, which then helped his teammate Hayes win the race. The Mercedes team boss offered Pearce a seat in his team for the following season, which Pearce refused. While the scene looked legitimate, Wolff was unhappy with the details. Speaking about his brief appearance in the Wall Street Journal, as quoted by Planet F1, he said: Toto Wolff Team Principal of Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team looks on during the Qualifying Session ahead F1 Grand Prix of Monaco at Circuit de Monaco on May 24, 2025 in Monte-Carlo, Monaco. Toto Wolff Team Principal of Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team looks on during the Qualifying Session ahead F1 Grand Prix of Monaco at Circuit de Monaco on May 24, 2025 in Monte-Carlo, Monaco. Emmanuele Ciancaglini/"At the end I have this little cameo. "They say it's great, but I think they're lying to me. It makes me cringe. It was in Abu Dhabi after the race. There was no hair and makeup. "They were like, 'Let's do this now.' "They were a bit annoyed with me because I think I did the scene five times. I wanted it to be good — not that the outcome actually was good." While the perfectionist in Wolff pushed the crew for several retakes, one of F1's co-producers, Jerry Bruckheimer, opened up about how specific Hamilton was during the filming of the movie to ensure all details synced with real-world Grand Prix racing. Newsweek Sports reported his comments: "Lewis Hamilton saw a part of it and gave us a critique of how the drivers actually do various things. The level of specifics that he gave us, like in Silverstone in Turn 3 you're in second gear, and he could hear with his ear we [Pitt] were in third gear. "So it's that kind of thing that he's bringing to the movie. And he said... when he finishes a race, especially like Singapore, where it's very hot, he can barely get out of the car, they lose 10 pounds... and it's not only him, it's all of them. They're just completely exhausted [and] we're going to show what it takes to be an F1 driver."
