Now my head's in a mess and I don't know whether to stay with my current guy or try again with my former partner, who I have never stopped loving.
I have been with my fella for four years. We're both 31 and were going through a rough patch, so agreed to take a break. I went to my mum and dad's while he stayed in our flat.
During that time, an ex who I dated in my teens messaged me on Instagram. He's 33 and was asking what I was up to.
As soon as I saw his name, my heart skipped a beat. I'd cried a year earlier when I'd seen on his social media that he was with somebody and they had a little boy.
I didn't answer him, out of courtesy to my boyfriend, but then I ran into him in town. He seemed genuinely pleased to see me. He said he was single.
After apologising for hurting me previously, he persuaded me to have a drink with him.
We went out together again two nights later. All my feelings came flooding back. On our third date, we had sex.
I began to see a future with him but, around the time of his son's birthday, he started ghosting me.
I called him out on it and he admitted going to see his ex and their son and staying the night on the sofa. He said nothing happened.
He sees a future with me, but my current boyfriend is trying so hard to make it up to me. I don't know who to choose.

I FEAR SON IS DEPRESSED AS HE CRIES ABOUT DEATH
DEAR DEIDRE: MY son has everything a young man of his age could wish for but he constantly cries when he thinks about death.
I'm his mum and I'm so worried. He's 22 and has a good job doing computer programming. He's got a lovely girlfriend who's 20.
I've talked to him about what is bothering him and he says he just feels low and keeps thinking about his nan, who died three years ago.
He's preoccupied with how long we are all going to live for.
I don't know where this has come from. I live with depression. It comes and goes but it is managed well with medication.
I'm concerned he may also have depression but I don't want him on medication at his age.
If he was close to his nan and has not come to terms with losing her, this could be a way of him showing his grief.

If he still feels low, do ask him to talk to his doctor.
Even young children can have depression so it is important that he finds support, even if it is a case of him being on medication to help.

WIFE'S BROTHER IS AWFUL LODGER
DEAR DEIDRE: WE had to let my brother-in-law move in with us when his wife threw him out. We could hardly make him homeless.
He's been with us for three months and he's driving me mad. Even my teenage kids don't want to socialise with him because he smells.
I'm a man of 52 and my wife is 50. My brother-in-law is 55.
I'm not sure why his marriage broke down, but I've got a good idea – he never shuts up!
I get in from work and he talks at me until dinner, then he drones on over any TV programme I want to watch.
The council have said it's going to be at least eight months before he has any hope of getting a flat. He's never worked, so he can't afford a private rental.
DEIDRE SAYS: You're not responsible for him but, if he is going to live with you for any length of time, you need some house rules in place for the sake of your own mental health.
Spell it out to him that you're happy for him to stay for a while, but that unless there's a reason why he can't work, he should start to look for a job.
If he can't find one, then he should volunteer.

I'd never been with anyone for longer than a few months before but my wife was different.
I'm 41 and she's 39. We were together for ten years and had three kids, but I got into a mess with money and she found out.
I lied to her and as far as she was concerned, the trust had gone. She refused to have counselling and said we were through.
I was happy and loved our little family. Even though we'd split up, we'd still do things together, like taking the kids out, because we were still in our marital home.
But when my father died in India, I had to go and help with the funeral. While I was gone, my ex-wife was offered a house to rent so she moved out, taking the kids with her.
We were still texting one another every day but then I found out she was seeing another guy. I am so upset, I can't bear to talk to her any more.
Now I'm trying to pay the mortgage for a house which has too many memories for me. I miss her and I miss the kids.
DEIDRE SAYS: It's natural to feel this way. You're grieving the loss of your family life. Her moving out may be the best thing for you though.
Living together was keeping you stuck in the relationship and, most importantly, was probably damaging for your children.

In the clip, she says: 'If you need a simple way to get rid of the weeds between your patio stones try using baking soda.' She can be seen pouring lots of baking soda along the length of her patio, covering it in the white powder. She then shows off big bag to the camera, saying: "I got this 50lb bag from a farm supply store for just $30 [£22]." Next, she advises: "Sweep it into all the cracks and then wet it with a garden hose." In the clip, Jessica can be seen using a brush to make sure the baking soda goes into every crevice, before it cuts to her hosing down the bricks. She then shows the effect it had in just one day, saying: "After 24 hours, your weeds will look like this and come out so easily." During this voiceover, the video cuts to a close-up of the patio, where weeds can be seen looking dried out and dead in the cracks between the bricks. The clip ends with Jessica easily pulling out the dead weeds as she insists that "they won't grow back." Some people were sceptical about using the product on their driveway weeds, but Jessica returned to the comments section after several weeks to update her followers. Baking soda, also known as sodium bicarbonate, is super effective at eliminating weeds due to its high salt content. Whe weeds are overloaded with salt, they cannot survive. They become dehydrated and dry out, eventually dying and being unable to re-grow. Once the pesky plants have fully dried above ground, the whole weed should be able to be pulled out from the root. This makes it much harder for the weed to return to your outdoor space. Increased salt levels in the soil can pose a problem for non-weed plants in much the same way. But by doing a simple flush of water - or if there is heavy rainfall - the remnants of the baking soda can be easily washed away.

Didcot charity increases meal deliveries for school holidays
A charity that redistributes food to community larders delivered about 15,000 more meals to people in July compared to the same period last year. Sofea, which has a hub in Didcot, Oxfordshire, is part of national food network FareShare, which aims to reduce food waste. Since the start of the summer holidays, the network said it had delivered 2,500 tonnes of food to charities and families nationally, equivalent to six million meals. In December Sofea lost thousands of pounds worth of food after flooding damaged its warehouse. Anthony Leonard, Sofea's director of operations, said deliveries to local community larders were making a big difference. "Food from the larders is going directly to people in need," he said. "When you meet them, the change it gives to their lives is immense." Abingdon Community Larder is one of several across the county that Sofea delivers to. Victoria Henstridge, a single parent who works at a nearby special school, said the larder saved her significant amounts of money and was a huge help to her family. "I've got two boys and they're adventurous - [it's difficult] to find time to go shopping and take them to all their activities," she said. "On a Friday it helps us with meals for the weekend and sometimes into the next week." FareShare said a recent survey found 51% of charities in their network were expecting an increase in demand over the summer holidays. Volunteer Nigel Northcott said the larder was also a meeting point for local families, with charities such as Age UK on hand to offer advice. "If [parents] have children home at the holidays, they can bring them here, have a cup of tea and mingle with others," he said. Four-ingredient wasp trap hack is 'simple' to make and 'bees won't go near it'
A simple method to make a wasp trap is so handy and claims it won't attract bees. It was revealed by a gardening specialist who is a brand ambassador for Dobbies Garden Centres Wasps are often lingering during the summer months and after a while, can get quite annoying. There is a way to repel wasps with one smell, but now all you need is a four-ingredient method. Often wasps mark their period when their colonies expand and it can be a nuisance having to deal with these invaders in your garden. Whether it's a picnic or any outdoor event, wasps are often drawn to sweet drinks, mature fruit or other sugary delights. Now Michael Griffiths revealed the ultimate four-ingredient hack to help you banish wasps from your garden. He has built a reputation for providing gardening advice and demonstrations across social media platforms and serves as a brand representative for Dobbies Garden Centres. He recognises that whenever possible, wasps should be left alone as they represent "beneficial predators and pollinators" but he noticed they can create problems in gardens at this season by harming bees. As a result, he's discovered a method to make a wasp trap and demonstrated his technique through an Instagram video. Opening his footage, Griffiths explained: "How to make a wasp trap that bees won't go near. August and September are peak times for wasps as their colonies are at their largest." The gardening guru then showed how he creates the trap, beginning by chopping off the top of a large plastic bottle and flipping it upside down to create a funnel to be placed in the bottom section later on. He added: "For the ingredients, you want to fill it with half a cup of water, half a cup of apple cider vinegar, half a cup of sugar and a few drops of washing up liquid." Griffiths' next step is to stir all the ingredients together with a spoon before placing the funnel on top and finally securing it if necessary. The Dobbies ambassador continued: "Add string if you prefer to hang it and place it where the wasps are most active." In his Instagram post's caption, he cautioned: "Where possible wasps should be left alone and treated as the beneficial predators and pollinators they are. "Unfortunately wasps can be a problem this time of year in gardens so management may be necessary." The gardening expert further claimed that as a beekeeper, you can "lose colonies of bees to wasps robbing hives or eating the bees at this time of year". His Instagram post has garnered 2.2 million views, 4,857 likes and more than 800 comments, at the time of writing. One user said: "I had no idea they would do that to bees. [You] learn something new every day." Another added: "Yes - I also had no idea!" A third shared: "Put mine out a few weeks back - sadly had three bee nucs (nucleus colonies) destroyed by wasps already this year." While a fourth viewer suggested: "If we're sitting outside with any type of food, they come around instantly this time of year. "I put a piece of lunch meat (turkey/ham/whatever you have) on a dish far away and the wasps go crazy for it and leave us be(e). Try it! It works."
