Pandiraj opens up on 'Etharkkum Thunindhavan' failure, reveals rejected Suriya's script, and questions late praise for 'Kathakali'
Pandiraj
's comments in an interview regarding his previous film 'Etharkkum Thunindhavan' have created a stir on social media. While fans had already criticized the film starring
Suriya
for not being as well-received as expected, Pandiraj's explanation has led to new debates.
Says he toiled 3 years; accepts blame
Speaking in a YouTube chat with Gopinath, Pandiraj said that 'It hurts to be told that I gave a flop film to Suriya sir and a hit to others. I worked for three years on the film 'Etharkkum Thunindhavan.' I worked tirelessly even in the midst of COVID-19. It's my fault that the film wasn't well-received. But I shouldn't let that get in the way." He also said, 'I gave my brother Karthi the hit 'Kadaikutty Singam.' I worked hard to give my brother an even bigger hit.
But the box office collection of 'Etharkkum Thunindhavan,' which has been considered a flop, is higher than Suriya's last two films.'
The
unique script
was rejected by Suriya
In the interview, Pandiraj also shared an important piece of information: 'First, I told Suriya sir a story like 'Michael Madana Kama Rajan.' A very unique script. But the production company did not agree. It would have surprised everyone if that film had come out," he said. This information has caused surprise and disappointment among fans.

Late '
Kathakali
' praise raises questions
Pandiraj further added that 'Now everyone is talking like they liked 'Kathakali.' But I didn't know where they all went at the time of release! It was because 'Rajinimurugan' was a big hit on the day of release; after that, I continued with films like 'Kadaikutty Singam' in the same model," he said, sparking discussion among fans and cinema circles. These honest statements by Pandiraj have created more love among his fans and mixed reviews among Suriya fans.

Affectionately called "Nag-sama," a term reserved for deities and royalty, Nagarjuna's recent role in Kuberaa has resonated deeply. His calm yet commanding presence has solidified his place in the hearts of Japanese fans. Japanese audiences have shown remarkable affection for Telugu cinema in recent years, whether it was Baahubali propelling Prabhas to stardom, or RRR drawing crowds to screenings and inspiring a fan to learn Telugu just to speak with Jr NTR. Now, joining this elite list of Telugu stars adored in Japan is Akkineni Nagarjuna. The actor has found a devoted fan base that affectionately calls him 'Nag-sama.' What does sama mean in Japanese? In Japanese culture, the suffix 'sama' is reserved for deities, royalty, or individuals held in high esteem, a mark of the deep admiration he has earned. Why are fans calling him 'Nag-Sama'? While Nagarjuna has been a towering figure in Telugu cinema for decades, his role in Brahmāstra first introduced him to a global audience. But it was his recent portrayal as Deepak in Kuberaa that seems to have struck a chord with Japanese audiences, who have commended the actor's calm yet commanding presence on screen. @ranpo292 I watched Kuberaa. It was fun! Dhanush is so cute Her way of speaking and facial expressions were both lovely. I fell for was unexpectedly good... So that person is Nagu-sama, huh ~ ! There was something amazing overflowing from it, and the melancholy of old age was irresistible!! @akiyama_0_0 What makes Kuberaa so appealing is the presence of Nagu in this film. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Pierce Brosnan's Wife Lost 120 Pounds - This Is Her Now Undo Usually, my comments would be something like, 'This is what Nag-sama's role in this movie is good at.' The part where you think, 'Deepak Sir is...' It makes you realize that you are seeing it through the characters. The same goes for Aneesh Shetty in Brahmastra.
