Morgan Wallen Dominates Hot 100 With Six of Top 10 Spots, Tops Chart With Tate McRae on ‘What I Want'
Morgan Wallen has taken over the charts this week as 'What I Want' featuring Tate McRae has topped Billboard's Hot 100, while his fourth album I'm The Problem landed atop the albums chart as the biggest debut of 2025 so far. Overall, Wallen has six songs in the Top 10 this week, including all of the top three slots.
'What I Want' is Wallen's fourth Hot 100 chart-topper, and the first for McRae, whose biggest hit to this point has been 2023's 'Greedy,' which peaked at Number Three on the Hot 100. The song garnered 31.2 million streams, per Luminate. 'Just in Case' secured the second slot, while title track 'I'm The Problem' came in third. Wallen dethrones Kendrick Lamar and SZA's 'Luther,' which had spent the past 13 weeks atop the Hot 100 prior to this week.

I'm The Problem itself opened with 493,000 units, according to Luminate, buoyed by sky-high streaming numbers as the album racked up 462.63 million streams in its first week. It took less than a day for the album to become the most-streamed country record of the year on the major streaming platforms. I'm The Problem also secured 133,000 album sales as well.
Wallen dethroned The Weeknd's Hurry Up Tomorrow for the biggest album debut of the year. Despite his own controversies in years past, Wallen has proven to be one of the biggest superstars in the country. Wallen's impressive opening this week reflects a continued surge in country music the singer has helped bolster over the past five years. While the streaming era has minted several stars like Luke Combs and Zach Bryan, Wallen remains the biggest act. Prior to I'm The Problem, Wallen topped the charts with Dangerous: The Double Album and One Thing at a Time, both of which remain in the top 15 years after release.
As The Hollywood Reporter first reported last month, Wallen's record label Big Loud has cashed in on that popularity, selling a minority stake in his catalog to the UMG-backed Chord Music partners for $200 million.

He demonstrates that ability again this week, as one of his singles returns to a Billboard list focused solely on pure purchases, and it joins one of his all-time classics in doing so. The rapper matches one of the most exciting superstars in his chosen field today as he doubles up on the tally. "Shake That," Eminem's collaboration with Nate Dogg, returns to the R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales chart this week. The cut barely manages to reenter the ranking of the bestselling tunes that can be classified as R&B, rap, or hip-hop in the U.S., landing in last place. "Shake That" joins "Lose Yourself," which lifts one space to No. 7. As "Shake That" returns, Eminem joins Kendrick Lamar as the only two musicians to occupy more than one space on the R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales list. Lamar claims twice as many current wins as Eminem, with four current smashes. Lamar also manages to rank higher than Eminem this period – though both of the latter musician's current bestsellers are much, much older than Lamar's. His tunes "Luther" with SZA, "Not Like Us," and "Put TV Off" with Lefty Gunplay and 'Squabble Up' appear at Nos. 4, 6, 9, and 11, respectively. "Anxiety" by Doechii leads for its fourth frame, which represents the entirety of its time on the roster. Drake's former No. 1 "Nokia" dips to third place, landing just ahead of Lamar's highest-rising success. Several other well-known figures like The Weeknd, Playboi Carti, and Pharrell Williams also take up space with former champions. "Shake That" was released decades ago, but has recently surged in popularity after going viral. The tune peaked at No. 8 earlier this month and is one of Eminem's 69 top 10 hits on the tally. "Lose Yourself," which has now spent 468 frames somewhere on this roster, has somehow only ever peaked at No. 2.

For Niecy Nash-Betts and Kathy Bates, who recently joined The Hollywood Reporter's Drama Actress Roundtable, remembering the worst advice they've ever received was pretty easy, partly because of how bad they were. 'Everybody has an opinion!' Nash-Betts said. 'There were people who were like, 'Your fan base has known you to be a certain way, and you need to stay right there. Otherwise, you'll never eat lunch in this town again.' Some of that comes from older generations, family members, and that's how they think.' 'But I've always been a person who does one thing: what I want to do,' she continued. 'And I'm going to do it all the way. I give very little thought, if any, to what somebody else thinks about it.' And, as fans of Nash-Betts know, she's still head over heels for her wife, and surely hasn't regretted the decision since. 'I cannot even imagine my life without Jessica,' she gushed. 'This is the greatest love of my entire life. I would not even be able to enjoy my work as much as I do without that kind of support. So I did what I wanted to do. I don't regret it. I would do it again. As a matter of fact, we are about to celebrate five years.' Nash-Betts then revealed that she and Jessica, who tied the knot in August 2020, are planning a 'big party' as a vow renewal. 'Just so I can say 'In your face' to whoever told me not to get married,' she said. For Bates, who's reaching new heights of TV critical acclaim recently for her role in Matlock, her worst advice was similar. According to her, she too was once told to keep an important part of her life a secret from the rest of the world. Sadly, she listened to it. 'I had ovarian cancer in 2003, and my agent said, 'Don't tell anybody. You don't want to be the poster child for ovarian cancer,'' she remembered. Looking back, she regrets keeping quiet. 'I think if I had come out at that point, maybe it would have helped some people,' Bates said. Years later, when she battled breast cancer in 2012, she didn't make the same mistake. 'I regret not doing that [the first time]. Because I went underground,' she said. 'I was on the board at the Academy, and I called them and said, 'I can't come to any of the meetings.' I just hid for a whole year. So it was bad advice, career and personal.' Whether they listened to the terrible advice or not, we hope the people who once said these things are listening and regretting ever giving their opinion.
