Morgan Wallen Dominates Hot 100 With Six of Top 10 Spots, Tops Chart With Tate McRae on ‘What I Want'
'What I Want' is Wallen's fourth Hot 100 chart-topper, and the first for McRae, whose biggest hit to this point has been 2023's 'Greedy,' which peaked at Number Three on the Hot 100. The song garnered 31.2 million streams, per Luminate. 'Just in Case' secured the second slot, while title track 'I'm The Problem' came in third. Wallen dethrones Kendrick Lamar and SZA's 'Luther,' which had spent the past 13 weeks atop the Hot 100 prior to this week.

I'm The Problem itself opened with 493,000 units, according to Luminate, buoyed by sky-high streaming numbers as the album racked up 462.63 million streams in its first week. It took less than a day for the album to become the most-streamed country record of the year on the major streaming platforms. I'm The Problem also secured 133,000 album sales as well.
Wallen dethroned The Weeknd's Hurry Up Tomorrow for the biggest album debut of the year. Despite his own controversies in years past, Wallen has proven to be one of the biggest superstars in the country. Wallen's impressive opening this week reflects a continued surge in country music the singer has helped bolster over the past five years. While the streaming era has minted several stars like Luke Combs and Zach Bryan, Wallen remains the biggest act. Prior to I'm The Problem, Wallen topped the charts with Dangerous: The Double Album and One Thing at a Time, both of which remain in the top 15 years after release.
As The Hollywood Reporter first reported last month, Wallen's record label Big Loud has cashed in on that popularity, selling a minority stake in his catalog to the UMG-backed Chord Music partners for $200 million.

'Tony reached out and he was so personable and so talented and I just really connected with the script and the character. Little did I know we were going to be making it during COVID, which was a crazy experience. And from the moment I read the script until we started shooting, I got pregnant, had a whole pregnancy, gave birth to my son, had my son on set with me, and without giving anything away, it's really serendipitous to [her character] Mandy's arc in the film.' 'We were actually hanging out a bunch during COVID, so when I got the call she was doing the movie we had like just gone hiking a few days before, so it was like, 'Oh cool, I'll see you there,'' Halsey recalled. 'It was just really great to have someone to learn from, to ask questions to — the stupid questions you don't think of. It was my first time on a movie set in a real way; just being like 'Who do I look at? Who do I listen to? What's the cool code words I don't know, the actor lingo?' So having someone to ask the stupid questions to was great.' Next up, Halsey is making another pivot and developing series Bloodlust for Amazon, serving as creator, writer and EP. The dark comedy series has also enlisted MaXXXine filmmaker Ti West to direct and executive produce. 'I started the pilot a few years ago and Amazon wanted it and they took it and now we're getting it on the road. There's not so much that I can say but it's really cool to be a part of a project that I don't face. It's quite relieving,' Halsey explained, confirming that she will not appear on screen in the show. Kendrick Lamar Adds New Australian Shows With Doechii as Support
Kendrick Lamar is expanding his upcoming run of Australian shows, announcing second stadium dates in both Melbourne and Sydney for his 2025 Grand National Tour. The Pulitzer Prize-winning rapper will now perform two nights at Melbourne's AAMI Park (Dec. 3 and Dec. 4) and Sydney's Allianz Stadium (Dec. 10 and Dec. 11), Live Nation confirmed on Tuesday (Aug. 6). The newly added shows will see fellow U.S. artist and Spilt Milk festival alum Doechii join Lamar as support, while original opener ScHoolboy Q will continue in his slot for the first night in each city. Jussie Smollett Returns to Fox as Part of ‘Special Forces' Cast
More than six years after leaving Fox's Empire amid an uproar over an allegedly staged attack, Jussie Smollett is returning to the network. Smollett will be part of the network's competition show Special Forces: World's Toughest Test in the fall. His character was written out of Empire's final season, though he remained under contract with the series. In 2020, however, he was re-indicted by a special prosecutor and convicted of five counts of felony disorderly conduct related to filing false reports in 2021. He served six days in jail before being released; the Illinois Supreme Court overturned his conviction in 2024, ruling that the second set of charges violated Smollett's due process rights. Smollett has maintained throughout the case that he did not stage the crime. He recently participated in a Netflix documentary titled The Truth About Jussie Smollett? that's set to premiere Aug. 22 on the streamer. Special Forces will premiere Sept. 25 on Fox.
