Deepak Tijori: 'I narrated Baazigar to Abbas-Mustan but they made it with Shah Rukh Khan, I asked them...'
Abbas-Mustan's 1993 blockbuster Baazigar made Shah Rukh Khan an overnight star, but it was Deepak Tijori who was earlier supposed to do it. He made some revelations in an interview with India Today.
The actor said, 'I'm a living example of that. Abbas-Mustan were the ones who were supposed to direct it. I had actually narrated the film to them, but they deferred and went to Shah Rukh. Shah (SRK) and I were friends. There was a VHS cassette of A Kiss Before Dying at his place. I asked him about it, and he said, 'Your director came to me, left this tape, and told me not to say yes until you say no.' So he waited on me.'

Deepak said that the directors apologised to him, saying 'please forgive us, we made a mistake. We'll compensate you someday', but Deepak told them that it was 'forgotten'.

I used to feel very nervous about dialogue deliveries. But all of it is okay because I am able to convey. People understand what I am trying to say,' she shared.

Subhash Ghai's Mumbai property to earn ₹2.24 crore rental over 5 years: Report
Veteran Bollywood filmmaker Subhash Ghai, in partnership with Crest Ventures Limited and Mukta Arts, has leased out a commercial property in Mumbai's Andheri West. According to a report by property portal Square Yards, the lease is projected to generate ₹ 2.24 crore in rental income over a five-year period. The property, situated within the Crest Mukta development, spans approximately 7,500 square feet (697 square metres) of built-up area. The lease was formally registered in July 2025, as per documents accessed via the Inspector General of Registration (IGR) portal. Under the agreement, the initial monthly rent is set at ₹ 3.38 lakh, with scheduled annual increments bringing it to ₹ 4.11 lakh by the fifth year. Square Yards' analysis estimates a rental escalation rate of nearly 5% per annum. The lease tenure covers a total of 60 months. Registration charges for the transaction amounted to ₹ 1,000, with an additional ₹ 57,500 paid in stamp duty. A security deposit of ₹ 24.66 lakh has also been secured as part of the agreement. Andheri West is among Mumbai's most desirable commercial and residential areas, known for its blend of premium housing, heritage properties, and boutique offices. Its strong connectivity to the international airport, Western Express Highway, Andheri railway station and the metro network further enhances its investment appeal. Earlier in 2025, Subhash Ghai and his wife Mukta Ghai also purchased a luxury apartment valued at ₹ 24 crore in the upscale suburb of Bandra West. Subhash Ghai, a key figure in Hindi cinema during the 1980s and 1990s, is celebrated for films such as 'Kalicharan' (1976), 'Karz' (1980), and 'Hero' (1983). Javed Akhtar pays tribute to Don director, the late Chandra Barot Veteran director Chandra Barot , 86, best known for making the 1978 cult classic Don, passed away in Mumbai. The filmmaker was battling pulmonary fibrosis for the past seven years. Barot's directorial debut Don was written by Salim-Javed ( Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar ). The film, which featured Amitabh Bachchan in a dual role, also starred Zeenat Aman, Pran and Helen. The film, which continues to be a landmark in Hindi cinema, was remade by Farhan Akhtar in 2006 with Shah Rukh Khan in the lead. Barot began his career in the Hindi film industry as an assistant director with actor-filmmaker Manoj Kumar. Remembering Chandra Barot, Javed Akhtar told Bombay Times, 'I remember meeting him around 12-15 years ago at an event. It was a fleeting meet and we promised to meet each other soon which sadly never happened. I will always remember him as the most gentle, easy-going man with a great sense of humour. He had no ego hassles and was extremely humble. Working with him and cinematographer Nariman A Irani on Don, was a great experience. Don for me is the 1978 original, a film written by Salim-Javed. The films made later by Farhan are definitely successful and well-made, but I will stay loyal to my film.'
