Dennis Quaid says marriage with 39-years-younger wife is ‘closest relationship' he's ever had

Dennis Quaid is happiest when he's with his wife, Laura Savoie.
The 71-year-old actor shared what he loves most about his 32-year-old spouse during an interview Monday with Fox News Digital. 'My life is paradise,' he said. 'Every day is paradise with her. It really is.'
'It's the closest relationship I've ever had with anybody,' the Far from Heaven star added. 'What can I tell you? I don't know why God had waited so long to bring her, for her to come along, but [I'm] really glad he brought her into my life, or I walked into hers.'
Quaid acknowledged that even though his wife is 39 years his junior, he doesn't really pay attention to the age gap.
'I haven't spoken out about the age difference of my wife. Other people have. But…I really don't think about it," he confessed. "She's got so much going on that, you know, I just don't notice it. She's just, she's the light of my life."
'I wasn't looking for it,' Quaid added. 'And she came along, and it's God put us together.'
Quad shared similar sentiments about the age gap in the past. 'There's 30-something years between us, and we just don't even notice it,' he said during an appearance on the Today show in 2020. 'I've never related to someone in my life better than we do.'
He continued: 'We have such a great relationship and you know, love finds a way, wherever it is. You never know when love is coming, who it's gonna be, and you have no control over it. We just couldn't be happier.'
Quaid and Savoie tied the knot in a secret ceremony in June 2020 after a year of dating. The couple was initially meant to get married in a lavish Hawaiian wedding, but due to Covid-19 restrictions at the time, they chose to elope in California.
Speaking to People after the wedding, The Parent Trap star revealed that the ceremony took place on a beach in Santa Barbara with just their pastor as a witness. 'It was beautiful,' Quaid said. 'Just looking into her eyes, she was the most stunning bride.'
Savoie is Quaid's fourth wife. The Substance star was previously married to P.J. Soles from 1978 to 1983 and Meg Ryan from 1991 to 2001. Ryan and Quaid welcomed their only child, Jack, together in 1992.
From 2004 to 2018, Quaid was married to Kimberly Buffington, and they now share 17-year-old twins, Thomas and Zoe.
Last month, the actor gave an update about Zoe, who was working as a camp counselor in Texas during the devastating flash floods. He told Fox News Digital at the time that Zoe's camp is many miles north of Kerrville, Texas, which was hit by the catastrophic overflooding of the Guadalupe River.
'The Hill County of Texas is a magical place, especially for children going to camp there,' the Texas native said. 'It's a cherished memory you carry with you all your life. My daughter was actually a few miles away from [Camp] Mystic, further north. Thankfully, their camp was OK.'

TikTok video goes viral after NJ earthquake: ‘Starting to feel like LA'

NEW YORK (PIX11) – A Billboard chart-topping DJ was enjoying his Saturday night in New Jersey when an earthquake unexpectedly shook him. 'I was sitting on my couch watching TV,' DJ Petie, a top 10 artist on the Billboard Dance Chart, said. 'I thought maybe it was someone below me slamming a door or a truck driving on the street. I also had a feeling it was an earthquake.' More Local News He logged onto X to see if what he had felt was real. His suspicion was confirmed when he checked. What he was feeling was an earthquake in New Jersey that also affected parts of New York City. While some might have panicked, DJ Petie stayed calm and shared some light-hearted content and his thoughts on TikTok. 'Bro, I'm literally sitting on my couch, my whole apartment starts vibrating. I live in New Jersey. I'm starting to feel like I live in Los Angeles,' he said. The earthquake, originating from Hasbrouck Heights, NJ, was recorded around 10:18 p.m., according to the USGS. The magnitude was 3.0. DJ Petie's TikTok post, made soon after the quake, has already surpassed 100,000 views. Thousands of people have liked it. One TikTok user who related to his video commented, 'Why did I think my upstairs neighbors fell or something.' More Local News Another TikTok user, Bri, said, 'This earthquake was different from others; it was loud.' Another social media user commented, 'ran straight to TikTok.' PIX11 News received calls from viewers in Bloomfield, N.J., Westchester, N.Y., and Queens, reporting they felt their beds and TVs shaking. The earthquake's impact has been minor so far, with no reported threats to life or property, according to the Hackensack Office of Emergency Management. DJ Petie, who is currently on tour, called the event 'insane' because he has felt multiple earthquakes since last year. He finds it crazy because he's lived in New York his entire life and only recently started to feel earthquakes. Matthew Euzarraga is a multimedia journalist from El Paso, Texas. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Were Photographed Watching Son Archie's Surf Lesson

THE RUNDOWN Meghan Markle and Prince Harry took Archie for a surf lesson. The Duke of Sussex surfs himself. The couple were seen chatting with friends on the beach in chic casual wear. On Friday, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were photographed making the most of summer at Santa Claus Beach in Carpinteria, watching their six-year-old son Archie as he enjoyed a surf lesson. In pictures shared by TMZ, the couple is on the beach chatting with friends as Archie hits the waves. Meghan is wearing cut off jean shorts and a white button-down shirt with a wide-brimmed straw hat and sunglasses. Harry is wearing black shorts and a matching top with a cream baseball cap and aviators. Harry has also shown an interest in surfing, with footage posted of the Duke of Sussex riding waves in 2024 by instructor Raimana Van Bastolaer. The couple seems to have truly embraced California living. They first moved to Montecito in 2020, after stepping down as working members of the royal family. Since then, Harry has been struggling with how to stay in touch with his family in the U.K., since his father, King Charles, will not reinstate automatic security for his family. They lost their appeal on the matter in April of this year. In June, source told People that the couple has different perspectives on how to move forward with Charles and Harry's brother, Prince William. 'They're aware of everything going on in England, but they're being left out of the details—there's clearly no trust,' said the insider, adding that Meghan is 'focused on the future,' and 'is very business about it.' The Duchess of Sussex 'wishes her husband could feel less burdened by the past and more present in the life they've built together.' Charles has been receiving treatments for cancer, and Harry has struggled to remain in the loop about how his father is doing. 'It's been difficult for him to even get proper updates about his dad,' the source explained. DeMarcus Cousins: Nikola Jokic Considered Retirement Instead Of Signing $300 Million Supermax Deal

DeMarcus Cousins: Nikola Jokic Considered Retirement Instead Of Signing $300 Million Supermax Deal originally appeared on Fadeaway World. Nikola Jokic's enthusiasm for horse racing is a well-known fact in the NBA community, and in some ways, even outweighs his love for basketball. Still, the idea that Jokic nearly retired before signing his contract extension comes as a surprise. Former Denver Nuggets center DeMarcus Cousins recently shared the story of how Jokic was contemplating retirement instead of signing a supermax deal on the "Straight Game Podcast". He recalled: "When I was with Denver, our lockers were next to each other. I don't remember who at the time had signed an extension, but I'm like, "Yours is going to be crazy!" He was like, 'You know, Cuz, I honestly think I might retire before this contract.'" Cousins was stunned by Jokic's willingness to walk away from a $300 million payday. "I said, 'Man, you out your motherf***ing mind,'" he continued. "I said, 'Sign the contract and just get fat at worst.' Don't pass up on the $300 million. You can't do that." He recalled Jokic saying he just wanted to relax in the Serbian countryside with his horses. Cousins tried to convince him by joking that he could buy more horses with the money. Jokic's disinterest in playing basketball was also noted when the four-time All-Star emphasized that Jokic did not care much about playing in the NBA. He claimed: "If you ever get a chance to just hold a conversation with him, and he tells you a little bit about himself, he really doesn't give a f**k about this s**t. He doesn't care. At all. This is like his second or third favorite thing to do. Maybe third or fourth. Most games, when he's dropping these crazy stats, he probably doesn't want to be there. And that's the scary part about all of it." If Cousins' statement is to be believed, something plenty of evidence supports, Jokic may be the most naturally gifted player the NBA has ever seen. Even disengaged, the Nuggets superstar remains one of the best players in the league. As a perennial MVP candidate, the Serbian big man consistently delivers unreal numbers to help his team secure victories. In the 2024-25 season, Jokic put up an average of 29.6 points, 12.7 rebounds, and 10.8 assists, while shooting 57.6% from the field and 41.7% from three-point range. Absurd numbers for someone who treats basketball like a hobby. Jokic's love for his horses and being home in Serbia is endearing to fans, but it raises several concerns for the Nuggets organization. Having declined their recent extension offer, possibly for a significantly more lucrative deal next season, the big man could very genuinely leave the team at some point. While ownership is already uneasy about Jokic's future in Denver, the bigger question is whether he'll stay in the NBA at all. To keep him invested, the Nuggets have been active in building a stronger roster this offseason, effectively seeing them emerge as contenders. The prospects for the upcoming season may be positive, but the superstar will currently focus on representing his home country at the upcoming EuroBasket story was originally reported by Fadeaway World on Jul 31, 2025, where it first appeared.
