Much like the US-based Curry Camps, a selection of the best talents from the region will take part in the three-day training camp. To kick things off, Curry's arrival in Chongqing was met with a 'Night Night' drone show that lit up the city skyline. In a carousel of pictures and videos, Curry documented his first day in the city. It included a picture of himself posing with the drone show in the background, along with a clip featuring a beaming Curry watching on. 'Chongqing meets Curry,' read the drone. 'Chongqing, you showed out. 🔥Day 1 of the Curry Brand China Tour was packed with Curry Camp, Curry Con, and so many moments in between. The fans brought incredible energy from the jump, and getting to connect with city executives gave us a deeper look at what makes this place so special,' Stephen Curry wrote on Instagram. The rest of the carousel featured clips from the other events the player was part of. The likes of Azzi Fudd, Seth Curry, and Zhu Zheng, the first Chinese athlete signed to Under Armour's Curry Brand, also featured in the clips. Per NBC, the veteran was full of praise for the drone show. 'That [show] was crazy, probably my favorite thing right now. We have our camp and 'CurryCon' going on across the city, which is pretty awesome. But I just appreciate the fans and the love and energy that's here; you can hear all the people down, just celebrating and enjoying being a part of my journey with me,' he said. The event and the love he has received is testament to the influence Stephen Curry has garnered over an illustrious career, which will soon enter its 17th year in the NBA. Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry has been busy this offseason, continuing to stay in elite shape in anticipation of his 17th season in the NBA. So far, the Warriors have yet to make any offseason moves, but Curry is reportedly confident in the team heading into this upcoming season. In between workouts, Stephen Curry headed over to China for his first ever Curry Camp in Asia this week. Upon Stephen Curry's arrival for his China camp, the Warriors' star was greeted with a massive ovation from the fans in attendance. The crowd broke out into an 'MVP' chant as the four-time NBA champion was welcomed on the court. The camp was held as part of the launch for Curry's 2025 Asia Tour. At 37-years-old, Curry remains one of the most popular players in the NBA both stateside and abroad. Even with the new generation of players beginning to leave their mark, Curry remains one of the most recognizable faces of the league. As the 2025-26 season draws near, Curry will be entering his 17th season, all with the Warriors since they selected him with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft. This past season didn't end well though as Curry was sidelined due to injury for all but one game of the Warriors' Western Conference Semifinals loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Prior to the injury, Curry was having a brilliant postseason run. In eight playoff games, he was averaging 22.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.0 steals with splits of 47.7 percent shooting from the field, 40 percent shooting from the three-point line and 89.3 percent shooting from the free-throw line. During the regular season, Curry appeared in 70 games at a little over 32 minutes per game. He averaged 24.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 1.1 steals with splits of 44.8 percent shooting from the field, 39.7 percent shooting from the three-point line and 93.3 percent shooting from the free-throw line. Cricket: All five Taunton Deane Saturday teams celebrate victory
Taunton Deane Cricket Club's first XI moved closer to promotion after a weekend of victories. The weekend started with the Deane Diamonds playing Bridgwater Red Sox in the U19 cup semi-final on Friday, August 15. Jonty Lusk and Jack Blackwell scored at a rate of more than two runs per ball, with Jonty retiring on 54 after hitting a six to the Deane clubhouse. Captain Josh Cobb also passed the retirement mark, leaving Alex Chaffey and Benny Jessop to finish the innings at 229-3. Bridgwater's response was strong, with Tom Fursland hitting four sixes and four fours in his 53. However, they could not maintain the pace and ended on 153, 76 runs short. The next day, Taunton Deane's first XI travelled to North Perrott, where an unbeaten century from Bhuvanesh Jayaraman led them to victory. The Deane score was a worrying 49-4 in the 11th over and 97-6 at the halfway point, but a partnership of 122 between Jayaraman, who finished on 105 not out, and Sunil Lachit, who scored 65, took the final total to 242-8. The Deane bowlers initially struggled but found their rhythm, curbing the Perrott run rate and taking regular wickets. This left the Deane with two more wins needed to secure promotion. The Deane second XI hosted the North Petherton first XI at the Convent Field. The opposition was restricted to 208-7 by eight Deane bowlers. The Deane response was dominated by Alfie Jaques, who hit 10 off the 33rd over to reach a century. The thirds travelled to Winford to take on Shaftesbury Road first XI and powered past the target of 239 in the 31st over. Harry Quirk took four wickets for 17 runs, and the Deane batting was equally impressive. James Salt and Shafin Akhtar both scored 50s, but the player of the game was Dave Jessop with 83 from just 50 balls. The fourths were at home to Yeovil thirds, who were limited to 137 by Matthew Hughes, who finished with figures of 4-20, and Neil Lane, who finished with figures of 3-34. The Deane lost only two wickets in reaching the target. The fifths also scored a memorable victory over the Wellington third XI, with Jack Monsey leading the way with 112. Dilagha Armani was the pick of the bowlers, taking five wickets for 24 runs. With the junior section now on its summer break, there were only two Deane games on Sunday. The Deane Sunday T20 team were no match for the Taunton Indian XI, and the women's first XI played Cheltenham, who scored 294 from their 40 overs. The Deane's response of 121 was dominated by Hannah Hughes' score of 41, who showed she retains all the qualities that make her such a good cricketer.
