Boy, 14, charged with attempted murder after two teens stabbed

A 14-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder after two other teenagers were seriously injured in a stabbing in Merseyside.
The victims, a 14-year-old girl and a boy, 15, remain in a stable condition in hospital following the incident in Whitefield Drive, Westvale, Kirkby, on Wednesday.
A Merseyside Police spokesman previously said the boy suffered a number of stab wounds to the body and the girl suffered a single stab wound to the chest.
Detectives believe the stabbing may be linked to an earlier dispute between youths.
The 14-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder, Section 18 wounding with intent and possession of a bladed article in a public place after his arrest on Thursday, the force said.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Youth Remand court on Friday.
A second suspect, a 15-year-old boy, has also been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and Section 18 wounding with intent and remains in custody for questioning.
A Section 60 order, which gives officers enhanced powers to stop and search individuals across the area and designed to prevent serious violence, remains in place in the Kirkby area until 6pm on Friday, the force said.

Detective Inspector Graeme Osborne said: 'Even though we have made arrests and a charge, our investigation remains ongoing.
'We are continuing to appeal for anyone with information to come forward. Knives have no place on the streets of Merseyside and we will continue to do everything within our powers to find the people carrying and using weapons and bringing them to justice.'

Doyle is charged with another count of wounding with intent and a second count of attempted GBH, which both relate to children, for whom reporting restrictions remain in place. He is alleged to have driven his Ford Galaxy Titanium dangerously on roads between his home address in Burghill Road and Water Street. He was not required to attend the court hearing on Tuesday. On Friday, Doyle appeared before magistrates in the morning, before a crown court appearance in the afternoon. Earlier this week, Merseyside Police said the number of people reported injured after the incident had risen to 109. Four people remained in hospital on Monday.

Alleged Liverpool driver to appear in court facing charges against six victims
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said on Thursday he is accused of two counts of wounding with intent, two counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, two counts of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent and one count of dangerous driving. A wounding charge and an attempted grievous bodily harm charge relate to a child. Doyle, of the West Derby area of Liverpool, is due to appear at Liverpool Magistrates' Court on Friday. Police confirmed the ages of those injured in the incident ranged from nine to 78 and all 79 are British. The CPS said the charges would be kept 'under review as the investigation progresses'. 'Prosecutors and police are continuing to work at pace to review a huge volume of evidence. 'This includes multiple pieces of video footage and numerous witness statements. 'It is important to ensure every victim gets the justice they deserve.' At the press conference, assistant chief constable of Merseyside Police, Jenny Sims, added: 'I fully understand how this incident has left us all shocked and saddened, and I know many will continue to have concerns and questions. 'Our detectives are working tirelessly, with diligence and professionalism, to seek the answer to all of those questions. 'When we are able to, we will provide further information.' Ms Sims said seven people remain in hospital. Police previously said they believed the car that struck pedestrians was able to follow an ambulance crew attending to someone suffering a heart attack after a road block was temporarily lifted.
