Justin Baldoni's lawsuit against Blake Lively dismissed
(NewsNation) — A judge on Monday dismissed a lawsuit filed by actor and director Justin Baldoni against his 'It Ends With Us' co-star Blake Lively after she sued him last year for sexual harassment and retaliation.
The judge said Baldoni could revise the lawsuit if he wanted to pursue different claims related to whether Lively breached or interfered with a contract. His legal team indicated it planned to do so.

21-year-old local filmmaker to debut feature film this weekend
DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A 21-year-old local filmmaker will be debuting his first feature film this weekend. 'Pastime' will premiere at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force Theatre this Saturday, June 14. The film is described as a romantic comedy and character study film meant for all ages to enjoy. LIST: Pride Month events in the Miami Valley 'The synopsis of the story encompasses an enduring summer romance that lasts for a while and fell apart,' said Corinthian Campbell, 'Pastime' writer and director. 'The main character is battling with the concept of what is love, is it a pastime, passion to some people? What is it?' Campbell worked to include several Dayton area locations to make his work more attractive to locals, as well as help promote the film culture in the Miami Valley. Saturday's event is more than just watching the film, it's the World Premiere Red Carpet Screening. 'It is kind of a red carpet event for cast and crew,' said Johnny Catalano, associate producer on the film. 'It's absolutely open to the public. Kate Beckinsale Praises Pets for ‘Holding Us by a Thread' After ‘Canary Black' Lawsuit Goes Public
Kate Beckinsale is seemingly finding solace in her beloved animals after amending a lawsuit she filed against the company and producers behind her 2024 action film Canary Black. On June 11, the actress, 51, shared a video of herself wearing a white dress, an oversized black bow and black boots while holding her dog. 'Shoutout to the furry ones holding us by a thread,' Beckinsale wrote alongside the video, which was accompanied by Randy Newman's 'You've Got a Friend in Me.' She followed up the post with photos of Kate Truitt's Keep Breathing: A Psychologist's Intimate Journey Through Loss, Trauma, and Rediscovering Life and underlined pages from the book. The posts come on the heels of a lawsuit the Underworld alum filed against Anton Entertainment Media Services, Inc; Canary Black, LTD; producer John Zois; and more — who she worked with on the thriller — being made public. In December 2024, Beckinsale sued the parties for negligence, intentional infliction of emotional distress and battery under the name Jane Doe — however on May 21, Beckinsale amended the lawsuit to include her name. In the newly amended filing, obtained by Star, the actress alleges she was 'repeatedly exposed to unsafe and dangerous conditions' on set of Canary Black, which resulted in Beckinsale 'suffering severe and debilitating injuries.' According to the documents, Beckinsale and her team brought up their concerns regarding 'long, dangerous set days, often lasting fifteen hours, inadequate equipment and medical personnel to help manage the high physical workload and recover from the exertion off set.' It also claims Beckinsale was not adequately informed about challenging stunts ahead of time. In 2022, Beckinsale emailed Zois and expressed her concerns about being unprepared and undertrained when it involved stunts, including one involving hanging from a wire. 'SpEaking [sic] last night to a few actors and actresses I know in my position, no one has ever been told something was green screen and found out day of a portion of it was practical,' Beckinsale told the producer, per the documents. 'What I am suggesting is merely what has been absolutely standard on every movie I have appeared in before.' The documents also claim that Beckinsale was not given appropriate padding for a scene in which an actor threw her against a wall, resulting in 'significant injuries, including a complex meniscus tear in her left knee.' Two months before Beckinsale filed the initial lawsuit under the name 'Jane Doe', she took to Instagram to dispel a review by The Guardian that theorized that she didn't do her own stunts. 'Kicking impeccably chic ass 🩷and a couple of close ups doesn't half hurt lol,' she captioned a post that featured clips of herself in action and photos of various injuries she seemingly sustained on set.

King Charles won't participate in royal tradition at Trooping the Colour: Reports
(NewsNation) — King Charles will not be participating in one of the long-standing royal family traditions at Trooping the Colour, according to reports. Charles, 76, will not be riding a horse during the celebration and will ride in a carriage with his wife, Queen Camilla, instead. Charles also couldn't ride horseback in 2024 following his ongoing treatment for cancer. Trooping the Colour happens on June 14 each year, with musicians, horses and parading soldiers taking part. Royal family members also join in on the fun, riding horseback and being in horse-drawn carriages. Charles was only able to ride in the saddle once as king in 2023. But now, his health issues have likely put the tradition behind him forever. As GB News reported, Charles used to be a polo player and amateur jockey when he was a child. However, he was reportedly forced to quit his hobby due to numerous injuries. Even though King Charles has been diagnosed with a type of cancer that has not been disclosed, he is still completing most royal duties. Senior aides reportedly said that Charles is 'managing' the cancer and living 'as normal as possible.' One senior aide said, 'The thing you learn about this illness [cancer] is that you just manage it. And that's what he does.' The aide also said that Charles is 'incredibly fit.' 'Medical science has made incredible advances, and I genuinely see no difference in him,' a senior aide explained. Along with the king and queen, Prince William, Princess Kate, and their three children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis — will be in attendance. Prince Edward, Charles' brother, should also be at the event with his wife, Duchess Sophie. It is not known if their children, Lady Louise and James, will be with them. Princess Anne is also set to be there with her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence. Other senior royals who should be in attendance include the Duke of Kent, as well as the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester. Queen Elizabeth used to invite the entire royal family, specifically to join her on the balcony at Buckingham Palace, but that changed in 2022. That is when the queen decided to only invite working members to the balcony; however, all royals are still invited to the overall event. Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, will not be in attendance at the event, presumably because of the current rift between Harry and Charles.
