Exotic food is one of the things Thailand is best known for. A stroll through the streets of any Thai city offers visitors an array of unique snacks and local delicacies, from crispy crickets to deep-fried cockroaches. Recently, Uncle Roger, the popular YouTuber and comedian, took his taste buds on a truly unforgettable adventure in Thailand, joined by renowned food vlogger Mark Wiens.
In a video that has quickly gained traction online, Uncle Roger, whose real name is Nigel Ng, stepped well outside his culinary comfort zone. Together with Mark, they ventured to a local restaurant specialising in jungle food and exotic meats. The feast included eel curry and fried garlic frog, but the most jaw-dropping item on the menu was undoubtedly the rat.
Mark explained that the rats served were not the type found on the streets of Bangkok. Known as 'núana,' these rats are found in rice paddy fields and are considered clean. Initially hesitant, Uncle Roger was encouraged by the vlogger to give the dish a try. With a mix of curiosity and dread, he took a bite and was pleasantly surprised. 'Honestly, not bad,' he remarked, adding that if someone had told him it was chicken, he would have believed them.
The video quickly drew thousands of reactions, with fans applauding Uncle Roger's adventurous spirit. Many viewers were fascinated by the insight into a lesser-known aspect of Thai cuisine, while some Thai netizens commented that such dishes are not commonly enjoyed by the general population; rather, they are more niche and region-specific. Others also commented on how hilarious this duo are.
This jungle food adventure highlights not only the diversity of Thai cuisine but also the importance of respecting local culinary traditions. Uncle Roger's collaboration with Mark Wiens was seen by fans as a long-awaited moment, bringing together two icons in the world of food who have each made a name for themselves over the years. Would you like to give it a try?

Billy Joel closing beloved New York motorcycle shop after brain disorder diagnosis

Billy Joel's beloved Long Island motorcycle shop is closing down after nearly 15 years of offering fans a free peek at his personal collection of dozens of bikes. The music icon will be shuttering 20th Century Cycles in Oyster Bay, New York, in late September and auctioning off his collection later this year because of a brain disorder he has been diagnosed with, according to a spokesperson, Claire Mercuri. In May, Joel announced that he was cancelling upcoming concerts after learning he has Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus, a fluid buildup in his brain that can affect thinking, concentrating, memory, movement and more, according to the Cleveland Clinic. The 76-year-old singer, composer and pianist was having trouble with his balance but otherwise felt good, he said in an interview last month on Bill Maher's Club Random podcast. Joel, who grew up in nearby Hicksville, opened 20th Century Cycles in late 2010 as a place to maintain and repair his motorcycles, restore and customise ones he bought and showcase his collection for the public at no charge. "It's basically promoting an aesthetic here," he said in a 2013 YouTube video filmed at the shop. "I like older style. I like the automotive style from the '30s to the '60s. I wanted to collect a whole bunch of those kinds of bikes, put 'em in one place and let people see what that era of bike looked like. Because it's starting to be a lost aesthetic.' He said he also wanted to bring foot traffic and business to downtown Oyster Bay - a ritzy waterfront community about 25 miles (40km ) east of midtown Manhattan - where part of the street that includes 20th Century Cycles was renamed Billy Joel Way in 2023. "I've been living in this community for a long time,' he said in the video. "I actually grew up not far from here. And I'd like to get a little interest going into the town and the village.' Joel's nearby home in Centre Island is listed for US$29.9mil, and he has been living in South Florida, while keeping a home in Sag Harbor on Long Island. The shop became a popular stop for motorcycle enthusiasts and tourists. It was home to Joel's collection of more than 75 bikes, dating back all the way to the 1940s and including Harley-Davidsons, Triumphs, Ducatis, Moto Guzzis, Indians and BMWs. One of the most valuable, he said, was a 1952 Vincent Rapide, which can sell for tens of thousands of dollars and sometimes more, according to auction sites. "I think everybody in Oyster Bay would agree that it's a big loss," said Ted Bahr, who owns a vintage rock poster gallery next to 20th Century Cycles. "Billy's place is visited on weekends by dozens and dozens of people, typically on motorcycles but also people in cars,. People come up and look at the window all the time. I mean it's a real destination. Billy Joel is a real superstar, and he is a hometown boy, so it's really unfortunate." The motorcycles that were in the shop have already been moved out. But it has been open on recent weekends selling new, used and vintage motorcycle parts that were still in stock there. Joel's enthusiasm for motorcycles dates back decades. In 1982, he was riding a motorcycle on Long Island when he was struck by a car that ran a red light, injuring his left thumb and dislocating his right wrist. He spent about a month in the hospital. He has also ridden motorcycles in various benefits for 9/11 first responders, breast cancer and other causes over the years. A date for the auction of his collection has not been set. – AP

(Video) G-Dragon Surprised Fans With Daisy Flowers On 37th Birthday

On 18th August 2025 (Monday), fans across the globe celebrate the 37th birthday of Korean superstar G-Dragon (지드래곤). While in most cases, the fans are the ones giving the gifts, the singer was the one who was more generous on his special day. In commemoration of his birthday, G-Dragon reportedly prepared two birthday events for his fans. Last week, the star had prepaid for 14 cafes across South Korea to offer 188 free drinks each throughout his birthday week, totalling 2,632 drinks. Later on his birthday, his fan club shared about a special 'Pink Spaceman' event that will take place around Hongdae and Hangang. For the event, a mysterious man dressed in a pink spacesuit walked around the two areas, handing out daisies for those who knew the special 'code name'. Daisies are flowers closely associated with G-Dragon and are even the motif for his lightstick. As such, fans in the area made time to find the pink spaceman to grab a daisy for themselves. However, upon meeting the spaceman, many were convinced that the man in the suit was G-Dragon. One fan explained, 'I think the Pink (Space)Man is GD. 1. His height is similar (to GD), 2. His dance moves stood out, 3. When I called 'Jiyong', he looked back automatically.' Unfortunately, the suit's helmet did too good a job at concealing the man's identity, and G-Dragon also never clarified the rumours. Nevertheless, fans are praising the BIGBANG (빅뱅) leader for preparing the event, even walking around in the suit to celebrate his birthday with fans. Besides the two events, G-Dragon was also featured in two new projects on his birthday. The rapper was featured in Vince's (빈스) new song, 'CHA CHA CHA (차차차)', and a video on comedian Yoo Byung Jae's (유병재) YouTube channel. At the same time, BIGBANG is also celebrating their 19th anniversary today (19th August 2025), with fans from all over the world chiming in with congratulatory messages for the K-pop group. Even on his birthday, G-Dragon can't hide his generosity and love for fans. We can't wait to see what the star has in store for fans in the future. In the meantime, check out his featuring on 'CHA CHA CHA' and his appearance on Yoo Byung Jae's YouTube video: Sources: Twitter (1)(2)(3)(4)

(Video) YouTuber Builds Fully Functional Mini Subway Station For His Cats

Pets are more than just furry companions. For many, they are family and, like any loved one, you'll want to spoil them with the best food, toys and outfits. There are some individuals, however, who go so far as to give their pets a world of their own, and that's exactly what one man in China has done. YouTuber Xing is known for building miniature homes and attractions for his pets. From supermarkets to banks and even cinemas, he has created a number of projects that never fail to amaze his audience. What's even more remarkable is that these tiny setups are fully functional. His latest project, a miniature subway for his cats, is currently going viral, so here's a behind-the-scenes look at how it was created: Over the weekend, Xing shared a new video on Douyin showcasing his latest creation for his cats: a miniature subway station. In the English-dubbed version uploaded to YouTube, the content creator explained that it took him and his team about 4 months to build the working train station as part of the ongoing Cat Town project. In the introduction, he demonstrated how the train pulled into the station, complete with fully functional doors for his feline passengers to embark and disembark their 'public transport'. When the influencer first came up with the idea for the subway, he was concerned about how to create a fully functional escalator, train and platform doors. Nevertheless, he decided to proceed with the project and tackle the challenges as they arose. As humans, one of the main challenges of creating the miniature cat worlds was the final cleanup, as they kept bumping into the ceilings. Once the station was complete, all of Xing's cats were seen relaxing and enjoying the train ride before disembarking on arrival. The video has since gone viral across social media platforms, with YouTube users expressing both amusement and amazement at the creation. Some even requested that the business owner release a more detailed behind-the-scenes video showing how the train, doors and escalators were built. Others joked that the cat subway is far better than the real ones made for humans, while a few wished the video had been longer so they could see more of the cats exploring the area. We agree that all of Xing's miniature world creations have been astounding, and we're looking forward to seeing more in the future. Check out the viral video below: Source: YouTube
