Dan Campbell Sends Warning To Rest Of NFL Entering 2025
Dan Campbell's Detroit Lions still have another hurdle to clear in 2025.
The Lions continued their franchise turnaround by going 15-2 with the NFL's top scoring offense last year, but their most triumphant season in franchise history ended in a second-round playoff loss to the Washington Commanders. Detroit has still never played in a Super Bowl.

Campbell wants to end that drought and avenge last season's swift playoff exit with a title run.
"We're out to finish what we started," Campbell said Monday, per Yahoo Sports' Jori Epstein. "We're going to close out some of these debts."
The league took notice of Detroit's success and ransacked Campbell's coaching staff. Offensive coordinator Ben Johnson and defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn landed head coaching jobs with the Chicago Bears and New York Jets, respectively.

Former Denver Broncos pass game coordinator John Morton replaces Johnson, and the Lions promoted linebackers coach Kelvin Sheppard to fill Glenn's former job.

All-Pro wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown is confident in Morton and Sheppard handling their new roles.
"It's not like we're going from Ben and AG to some coaches that don't know anything," St. Brown said. "Don't act like we're bringing in a scrub. These coaches know ball."
Those changes could still jeopardize Detroit's status as a legitimate championship contender in 2025. The Lions lost another vital piece when Pro Bowl center Frank Ragnow retired.

Amid much change, Campbell returns for his fifth season as head coach. Their record has improved each year, but the next step is competing for the Lombardi Trophy.
"We're going to do what we do here from Dan more than anybody else — he's the top of the brain trust," wide receivers coach Scottie Montgomery said. "Everything changes. Nothing stays the same. If it is, the complacency will kill you."
Campbell's new staff won't get an easy adjustment period, as the Lions open the regular season with NFC North clashes against the Green Bay Packers and Johnson's Bears before facing the Baltimore Ravens on the road.

Bucs' Lavonte David on 2025 season: 'I know what we are capable of'
Lavonte David is back for his 14th season in the NFL and with the Bucs, and he doesn't want to waste his time. The team had it's moments in 2024 but they ultimately fell short with a playoff loss, at home, to the Washington Commanders. After the loss, fans had wondered if they would ever see their captain again in Lavonte David. The former Cornhusker turned Buccaneer has played his entire career in Tampa Bay and has won a Super Bowl during his tenure. He knows what a Super Bowl-winning team looks like, and on Wednesday, he made comments that should have fans excited. The future Hall of Fame linebacker gave the bold proclamation, saying, "I know we can get it done. I feel like we fell short last year, I feel like we would have had a great run at it last year, honestly. We just fell short, and definitely unfortunate, but probably one of the main reasons why I came back, and I know what are capable of and I know what we can do. We have the talent to do it, and we have the mindset to do it. So, we just got to put it all together. . ." David returns as the Bucs try to figure out what the future of the position looks like for the team. They passed over on Jihaad Campbell in April's NFL Draft. Instead, they opted to run things back with SirVocea Dennis who is coming off a shoulder injury of his own. If Dennis can be healthy and play tag team partner alongside David, the middle of the Bucs defense will be in much better shape to defend in 2025.

30 most important Bills players of 2025: No. 17 Joey Bosa
As the Buffalo Bills prepare for the 2025 NFL season, we'll take a look at the most important contributors on their roster. They have a ton of cornerstone players who will be returning for another shot at bringing a Lombardi Trophy to Buffalo, and they'll have help from some new additions as well. Leading up to the season, we will be counting down the top 30 most important players on the roster. We'll recap their 2024 season, look ahead to what they'll offer in 2025, and tackle the most pressing questions surrounding them this coming year. Next up on the countdown is Joey Bosa. Background Position: Defensive end Age at start of season: 30 Experience: 10th year 2025 cap hit: $5,320,000 2024 recap Joey Bosa played in 14 games in 2024, but his production was ultimately limited due to a few different lingering injuries. First, he fractured his hand in joint practice ahead of the season in which he underwent surgery to fix. He was ready for Week 1, but hurt his back in the opening game. He played through the injury, but a hip injury popped up in Week 3 which forced him to miss the next three games. Although limited with injuries, he still showed some production and was voted to the Pro Bowl. He finished the year with five sacks, 22 tackles, 13 QB hits, and two forced fumbles. 2025 outlook The signing of Bosa to a one-year deal for 2025 was a calculated risk by the Bills and general manager Brandon Beane. If he plays to his star potential, it could be a game changer for the team. But, there's always the concern that he won't be able to stay on the field. The team is looking for an edge defender who can be impactful across from Greg Rousseau, and Bosa will get the first crack at it given his production in the NFL and the ceiling of his abilities. Biggest question: Can he be healthy for the playoffs? The most obvious question is if Bosa can stay healthy for 2025. He's missed 42 games over his career due to a laundry list of injuries. But, the more important question will be whether or not he can be on the field when the postseason rolls around. If he misses a few regular season games, it won't be the end of the world. If he has to miss playoff games, then the Bills will have paid him for basically no reason. The Bills will most likely be going against some of the best QBs in the NFL in the playoffs, and a healthy Bosa who has 72 career sacks and five Pro Bowls would be a big boost for the team. Bosa only has four career playoff games under his belt, but in one postseason game last year with the Chargers he was able to get home for a sack. 30 Most Important Bills of 2025 Check back as we continue to countdown on our list of the 30 most important Bills ahead of the 2025 season. No. 30 DT T.J. Sanders, No. 29 LB Dorian Williams, No. 28 DT Larry Ogunjobi, No. 27 Alec Anderson, No. 26 DE A.J. Epenesa, No. 25 DT DaQuan Jones, No. 24 TE Dawson Knox, No. 23 WR Elijah Moore, No. 22 WR Joshua Palmer, No. 21 S Cole Bishop, No. 20 K Tyler Bass, No. 19 WR Keon Coleman, No. 18 G David Edwards.

Bill Belichick ACC media days updates: Highlights from UNC coach's news conference
After an offseason dominated by intrigue and previously unimaginable headlines, Bill Belichick is only about a month away from coaching his first football game at North Carolina. Before he does that, though, the legendary NFL coach will get to take part in one of his favorite exercises — speaking in front of a group of hundreds of reporters. Heading into his first season ever as a college football coach, Belichick will make his scheduled appearance at ACC media days in Charlotte on July 24, where he'll discuss his Tar Heels team ahead of its highly anticipated September 1 season-opener against TCU. REQUIRED READING: UNC football tickets sold out for Bill Belichick's first season with Tar Heels Since North Carolina stunned much of the college football world by hiring Belichick last December, the six-time Super Bowl champion has been breathlessly discussed, though usually outside of the confines of football and his new job. Belichick's relationship with Jordon Hudson, his 24-year-old girlfriend, became a source of widespread public fascination that went beyond amusing social media posts of the couple wearing costumes or doing beach yoga. Hudson famously interjected during a CBS Sunday Morning interview in April when Belichick was asked how the two met, a moment that was captured on camera and set off a wave of reporting on Hudson, her role as Belichick's manager and what impact, if any, it has had on the North Carolina program. In Chapel Hill, he'll look to inject life into a program that has often been described as a sleeping giant, but has routinely struggled to wake up. Though they've been a perennial bowl participant for the past 40 years, the Tar Heels haven't won the ACC since 1980 and have won at least 10 games only once since 1998. USA TODAY Sports will be providing live updates and highlights from Belichick's interviews at ACC media days. Follow along here: Bill Belichick ACC media days live updates This section will be updated closer to the start of Belichick's news conference What time is Bill Belichick speaking at ACC media days? Belichick is scheduled to take the stage at ACC media days in Charlotte at 2 p.m. ET on Thursday, July 24. What channel is ACC media days on today? Streaming options include the ESPN app, which requires a valid cable login to access; ESPN+, ESPN's subscription streaming service; and Fubo, which offers a free trial to potential subscribers. REQUIRED READING: Bill O'Brien says Bill Belichick won't be 'true rookie in college football' at UNC Will Jordon Hudson be at ACC media days? It's unclear whether Belichick's girlfriend, who he described in his memoir as his 'creative muse,' will be joining him in Charlotte for ACC media days. At the very least, Belichick will be in Charlotte with four of his players — defensive backs Thaddeus Dixon and Will Hardy, quarterback Gio Lopez and wide receiver Jordan Shipp — all of whom will also be speaking with the assembled media. ACC media days schedule today With Belichick serving as the headliner — which is no small feat considering he's speaking the same day as a two-time national championship head coach in Clemson's Dabo Swinney — here's a rundown of what teams will be sending out their coaches and players to meet with the media Thursday: All times Eastern
