Hariyali Teej is celebrated with deep devotion and enthusiasm across many parts of India. The festival marks the divine union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati and is especially observed by married women. It is believed that keeping a fast on this day brings happiness, peace, and longevity to one's married life.
Women worship Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati with complete devotion, praying for love, harmony, and the well-being of their husbands. Hariyali Teej is among the most important fasts observed by women for a blissful marital life.
Ravi Yoga, considered highly auspicious. If you are observing the Hariyali Teej fast for the first time, here's everything you need to know.
Hariyali Teej Date
As per the Vedic calendar, the Sawan Shukla Tritiya Tithi will begin at 10:41 PM on Saturday, July 26, and end at 10:41 PM on Sunday, July 27. Based on Udaya Tithi (sunrise), the festival will be celebrated on Sunday, July 27.
Hariyali Teej holds great spiritual importance. It is believed that Goddess Parvati performed intense penance to marry Lord Shiva, and her devotion was fulfilled on this day. Women observe this fast to seek Goddess Parvati's blessings for the longevity and prosperity of their husbands.
In many Indian states, especially in northern India, the festival is celebrated with much festivity, music, and traditional rituals. During the puja, devotees offer makeup and beauty items (shringar) to Goddess Parvati. Some of the essential items include a green or red saree and chunari, vermilion (sindoor), bangles, bindi, comb, bichua (toe rings), shells (shankh), kumkum, mehndi, mirror, and perfume. These offerings symbolise a woman's marital happiness and devotion.
Traditionally, the Hariyali Teej fast is observed nirjala (without water). However, if that is not physically possible, one may opt for a phalahar (fruit) fast instead.
Wearing green is considered highly auspicious on this day. So, try to include green in your attire, be it your saree, bangles, or bindi. Applying henna (mehndi) on your hands is also considered important, as it is believed to attract special blessings from Goddess Parvati.

When Bhumi Pednekar starred in the web series The Royals earlier this year, she was also trolled and questioned for her alleged surgeries. Therefore, when News18 Showsha met Bhumi at a recent event in New Delhi, we asked what she thinks about it. Bhumi argued that too much attention is being given to this subject and added that if one wants to opt for fillers, why not? 'I feel, to each their own. We live in a time where people should make their own choices. I am nobody to have any kind of judgment on what people want to do. I also feel that this is being discussed way too much," she told us. The 36-year-old actress explained her definition of fitness and added, 'It is my way of being." Bhumi was in New Delhi for a Skechers' event. US Woman Charges Husband Rs 1,167 Daily For His Lunch, Sparks Debate On Social Media

Last Updated: Charging for homemade lunch, a US woman reignites debate on valuing time, effort, and unpaid domestic work A woman in the US. has sparked a social media debate after revealing that she charges her husband Rs 1,167 (about USD 14) every day to pack his lunch for work. The woman, known as Ray, is a mother of two and a content creator on TikTok. In a now-viral video, she explains that while she enjoys cooking for her husband, she believes her time and effort deserve compensation, especially when he would otherwise spend the same amount buying food from places like McDonald's or Greggs. 'If he can pay a stranger for lunch outside, why not pay me, the one who puts in real effort and love into making it?" she says in the video. Ray insists that this arrangement keeps both of them happy; he gets a fresh, homemade meal, and she gets fairly compensated for her work. She adds that preparing lunch daily involves time, hard work, and creativity, especially when she tries to make it new and delicious every day. Being paid for it, she says, feels fair. Ray shared a video of herself making a salad for her husband, which has now been viewed over 200,000 times on TikTok. While some users supported her approach, others questioned the idea of charging money within a marriage. 'Isn't this turning a relationship into a business transaction?" one user asked, arguing that the idea of saving money by bringing lunch from home becomes meaningless if you're paying for it anyway. Still, many others praised Ray. Some even called the setup empowering, saying it acknowledges the unpaid labour women often do at home. One user commented, 'This isn't bad, she's valuing her time. I might start charging my husband, too!" The video has reignited conversations around unpaid domestic work, especially in marriages, and whether it deserves financial recognition. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Furever Yours: Pet Portrait Bags Turn Pets Into Chic And Sentimental Style Statements

Last Updated: A limited-edition collection turns pets into hand-painted, wearable keepsakes that blend fashion with emotion. In an age where fashion is becoming increasingly personal, brands are moving towards blending style with story and sentiment. It's no longer just about what you wear—it's about why you wear it. Leading this shift is Miraggio, the handbag brand known for its trendy, statement-making designs, with a limited-edition initiative that's turning heads and tugging heartstrings. 'Launched as a special drop, Furever Yours taps into the emotional core of pet parenting while keeping fashion and function front and center. With only 300 pieces made, the campaign offers customers a chance to turn their pets into personal style statements—think hand-painted portraits of dogs, cats (or even bunnies) on Miraggio's select handbags. The result? A bespoke accessory that's equal parts chic and sentimental," says Mohit Jain, Founder & CEO, Miraggio. What makes this initiative stand out is its ability to merge personalization with elevated design. These aren't just keepsakes, they're versatile, style-conscious bags built for everyday wear. Whether it's brunch with friends, a casual office day, or a weekend getaway, Furever Yours ensures your pet stays by your side in the most stylish way possible. 'This kind of emotional storytelling through fashion is exactly what today's consumer craves. As trends come and go, personalization remains deeply resonant because it's not about trends, it's about identity. And increasingly, brands like Miraggio are tapping into experiences that go beyond aesthetics and dive into meaning," adds Jain. For pet parents, the idea of Furever Yours strikes a deep chord. 'I think it's such a beautiful way to celebrate the bond we share with our pets," says Shreya Mathur, a pet parent from Delhi. 'There are so many ways to personalize a bag, but making it about your pet? That just hits differently." Another pet lover, Vasvi Verma, adds, 'Even just seeing the concept made me emotional. Our pets are such a big part of our lives having a tangible reminder of them on something you use every day feels like such a comforting idea." 'At its heart, Furever Yours isn't just a campaign—it's a fresh take on what fashion can mean today. In a world where trends move fast and feelings often take a backseat, Miraggio hit pause to create something personal, stylish, and lasting. These bags aren't just about looking good, they're about carrying a piece of what (or who) you love, every single day," believes Jain. Because when an accessory tells your story, it becomes more than just part of your outfit, it becomes part of you. And that kind of fashion? It never goes out of style. view comments First Published: July 27, 2025, 13:06 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Please keep discussions respectful and constructive.
