Exclusive: Jeetu Kamal breaks his silence on Chirodini harassment row, says co-star Ditipriya is ‘talented but very kiddish'

Time of India06-08-2025
Actress Ditipriya Roy, known for her role in Chirodini Tumi Je Amar, has brought serious allegations against her co-star Jeetu Kamal, citing inappropriate messages and behaviour. The matter surfaced after Roy issued a public statement on Instagram, detailing incidents that left her uncomfortable and explaining why she had remained silent until now.
The production house involved in the show has yet to issue a formal response.
Social media post sparks speculation
The issue began with a photograph shared on social media by Jeetu Kamal, which Roy claims she personally found inappropriate. She stated that the image was provided by the production team for promotional use, but one specific picture made her uneasy. She conveyed her discomfort to the team and not to Jeetu directly.
Despite this, Jeetu reportedly mentioned in several interviews that the photo received negative comments and that Ditipriya was hurt by it something she denies ever discussing with him. According to Roy, this misrepresentation added to her discomfort. 'I never said anything about receiving obscene comments,' she clarified.
She further noted that when she expressed her concerns about the image, the focus shifted to criticisms about her professionalism. She was told she couldn't handle things "spontaneously," and her discomfort was dismissed as an overreaction.
Ditipriya details alleged messages
In her statement, Roy elaborated on interactions with Jeetu that went beyond professional boundaries. She claimed that Jeetu stopped speaking to her directly and communicated only through WhatsApp. His messages, she said, included personal remarks and inappropriate jokes.
Among the examples shared by Roy were instances where Jeetu asked, "Are you pregnant?" after she mentioned a doctor's appointment. She also said he sent her an AI-generated image of them kissing with a caption suggesting she forward it to her boyfriend. In another message, he reportedly asked her to keep their conversation hidden from her mother, saying, 'I'm scared of her.'
While Roy initially tried to dismiss the comments as jokes, she eventually found them troubling. 'These incidents made me uncomfortable over time. Many people on the set are aware of what happened,' she stated.
Roy speaks out after weeks of silence
Roy, 22, explained that she stayed quiet for some time in hopes of maintaining peace at work. 'I didn't want the show to suffer,' she said, adding that her decision to finally speak out came from a refusal to tolerate disrespect.
She also mentioned that other actors on set have had similar experiences with Jeetu, though she did not name them.
When Indiatimes reached out to Ditipriya's manager he added 'This has been going on for weeks. We will sit with everyone from the production team to the technical crew to discuss the issue. Our aim is resolution, and we're not saying she doesn't want to work. The point is to speak up against harassment and disrespect. We might consider legal options or negotiations, but for now, we are trying to resolve it internally. She is still shooting.'

Indiatimes also spoke to Jeetu Kamal who added, 'I did not post anything in the first place. Later, I had to post for my protection, for my clarification and so on. I come from a respected background myself, everyone was raising their fingers towards me. I have my own parents and hence I had to give a counter and for this reason I posted on my official account to explain the scenario from my end. I did not expect this kind of work from Ditipriya as she herself is very talented and educated. I don't know for what reason she has done this. She is a child and very kiddish.'
As of now these allegations show a tense standoff, where Ditipriya accuses of harassment, Jeetu refutes claims and any mediation or legal action may follow.

Korean woman runs into trouble in Turkey for showing peace sign: ‘As a Turkish, I never heard that sign is banned'

It is not uncommon for people to show a peace sign while taking selfies or making reels. That is what this Korean woman was doing while visiting Turkey, but it led to her getting a warning from the authorities, who told her that the particular sign is banned in the country. The video, however, has sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some Turkish people claiming they have never heard about the ban on the sign. A Korean content creator who got a warning for showing a peace sign. (Instagram/@tyongeee) South Korean content creator Tyongee posted the video on Instagram. She wrote, 'I did not know at all! It's amazing how I get to learn a new culture and manner whenever I travel.' In the video, she poses for a selfie while showing the peace sign. However, two men instantly call her out and tell her that the sign is banned in Turkey and that she shouldn't flash it. When asked why, one of the men says, 'In your culture, it means peace, but unfortunately in Turkey, it is raised about terrorism,' leaving the Korean woman visibly shocked. Curious, Tyongee asks the men if a mini heart sign is allowed, and they say that she can flash that popular sign. Social media had a lot to say: While many expressed surprise, some claiming to be Turkish said they were unaware of the sign ban. An individual posted, 'I like that they actually explained to her very calmly.' Another asked, 'But why is it related to terrorism?' An individual replied, 'This symbol is frequently used by the terrorist organisation called the PKK, which has caused the deaths of many civilians in Turkey. Because of this, it may provoke negative reactions from civilians in Turkey.' A third remarked, 'As a Turkish, I have never heard that a sign is banned. They just made it up... It must be their personal thoughts. We use it and it's super common.' A fourth wrote, 'They were respectful, and the girl was respectful. That's how people should talk every time.'
