4 draft-day trades Cowboys could consider on Friday

Dallas' selection of Alabama guard Tyler Booker may have shocked the system, but it filled a sneaky need and solidified a unit searching for an identity. The Cowboys enter the second day of the draft with four clear needs, starting with a receiver to pair opposite CeeDee Lamb.
The health of All-Pro cornerback Trevon Diggs and the contract uncertainty of DaRon Bland make corner another big need. Running back and interior defensive lineman round out the Cowboys biggest holes, but with only a pair of selections on Day 2, the team will need to get creative and draft day trades could net Dallas some potential starters.
Trade 2.44, 5.149, to the Chicago Bears for 2.39
Dallas may have to trade up in order to acquire their preferred skill position player, whether that be Missouri's Luther Burden at wideout, or Ohio State's TreVeyon Henderson at running back. Chicago entered the draft with seven picks, including two second-rounders within the first nine selections on Day 2 and a third-round pick at No. 72.

After the second and third rounds, Chicago will have just three picks remaining on the final day of the draft, with the earliest being a fifth-round pick followed later by a pair of seventh-rounders.
Moving down a few slots allows Chicago to gain another Day 3 draft pick without the feeling of giving up too much value.
Trade 3.76 to the Detroit Lions for WR Jameson Williams
Lions wideout Jameson Williams has been rumored to be available, would a third-round pick get it done? With so many holes for Dallas, giving up the 76th overall pick may not feel like proper compensation for the 1,000-yard receiver who was recently slapped with a fifth-year option.

Dallas would have to address Williams' contract situation eventually, but they'd have the same scenario they did when they acquired Amari Cooper from the Raiders, with two years to evaluate.
Trade 2.44 to the Cincinnati Bengals for 2.49, 4.119
Dallas set themselves up for a long Day 3 wait when they traded their fourth-round pick, No. 114 overall, to Carolina for receiver Jonathan Mingo. Cowboys fans have panicked a bit, so trading back may not be a popular move, yet one that could pay dividends, especially if several of their targets remain on the board when they get on the clock at No. 44.
Landing a prospect of their choosing, yet not falling too far behind while recouping an early Day 3 pick, could be beneficial. As it currently stands, Dallas is slated to wait through 72 selections before going on the clock again with pick No. 149.
Trade 3.76 to Jets for 5.145 and running back Breece Hall
Like Williams above, Jets running back Breece Hall is also entering his fourth NFL season, but unlike the Lions wideout, Hall was taken in the second round of the 2022 NFL draft. This means, barring a tag or an extension, Hall will hit unrestricted free agency in 2026.

This uncommonly deep RB class of 2025 may prevent teams from valuing the veteran running back as much as he should, but this swap gives Dallas a young lead back without hindering the ability to draft another.
He would have a young rebuilt offensive line powered by a new scheme and the stability of Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott to help raise his contractual value ahead of the open market. Dallas would receive a legitimate home run threat with minimal monetary obligations.
Hall has never eclipsed more than 223 attempts in his first three seasons and has also yet to reach 1,000 rushing yards. He is also a very productive receiving threat, catching 152 passes for 1,292 yards and 8 touchdowns in his first three seasons.

Teams are still talking ahead of the clock starting. Can Dallas maneuver itself to land the best possible deal? Only time will tell.
