Stars harassed: Jungkook's house almost broken into by woman, chauffeur sells Orm's personal info to fans, Entertainment News
While life in the spotlight may beget attention, there are some boundaries that shouldn't be breached.
According to South Korean media reports, a Chinese woman in her 30s was caught attempting to break into Jungkook's home at 11.20pm (10.20pm SGT) last night (June 11).
The woman was found repeatedly attempting to key in the door access code to the 27-year-old BTS star's apartment in Yongsan District, Seoul. A local resident called the police after noticing her suspicious behaviour.
It was reported that the woman told officers she had travelled to South Korea to see Jungkook upon his military discharge. Investigations are ongoing to uncover the circumstances of the incident.
Jungkook completed his mandatory military service yesterday morning, having enlisted alongside fellow member Jimin in the 5th Infantry Division Artillery Brigade in December 2023. Mastermind was closer than she imagined
Thai actress Kornnaphat Sethratanapong, also called Orm, has been a victim of obsessive fans for a while. Earlier this January, her agency Channel 3 issued a statement confirming that people had been stalking the 23-year-old to private locations, posing a risk to her safety.
The harassment persisted and it was discovered recently that her chauffeur had a part to play in the crime.
According to a report by Bangkok Post yesterday, Orm's chauffeur accepted money from fans in exchange for information about her whereabouts and personal schedule. The fans would follow and stalk her to her home, taking pictures of her car and license plates as well.
Orm uncovered her chauffeur's involvement when she was helping him use the GPS on a new phone, which led to her discovering chat messages on Line that revealed a stalking network. He claimed that his actions were done out of concern for Orm, which her family shot down as an excuse.

In a group chat, the involved fans exchanged information and coordinated their stalking activities, including going to Orm's home and trying to reach out to her mother. Some even booked plane tickets to sit near Orm on long flights.
Five fans were reportedly arrested, with more to be apprehended as there is a larger group of stalkers including both Thai and foreign nationals. Orm's chauffeur has since been fired and legal action will be pursued.
Orm is known for starring in the Thai girls' love series The Secret of Us (2024), alongside Thai-Hong Kong actress Sirilak "Lingling" Kwong. The duo will be holding their first fanmeet Ling & Orm in Singapore on June 14 at the Arena @ Expo.

Cambodia tells troops to stay on 'alert', cuts Thai TV shows in border spat
The disputed region has seen sporadic violence since 2008, resulting in at least 28 deaths. PHOTO: EPA-EFE Cambodia tells troops to stay on 'alert', cuts Thai TV shows in border spat Phnom Penh - Cambodia ordered its troops to stay on 'full alert' on June 13 in its ongoing border spat with Thailand, as it ordered television stations and cinemas to stop showing Thai dramas. On the eve of a meeting between the two sides aimed at defusing tensions following deadly clashes in May, Cambodia shut off internet connections routed through Thailand, leaving some users complaining of slow speeds. Violence flared on May 28 in an area known as the Emerald Triangle, where the borders of Cambodia, Thailand and Laos meet, with one Cambodian soldier killed. Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet said in a Facebook post on June 12 night that Cambodia was disconnecting all internet bandwidth from Thailand. The ministries of information and cultures also ordered television stations and cinemas to stop airing Thai TV series. Influential former leader Hun Sen – Hun Manet's father – on June 13 morning urged the government to halt 'imports of Thai goods into the Cambodian market' in the event that Thailand refused to lift restrictions imposed on border checkpoints in recent days, and told troops to be on alert. 'All armed forces must remain on full alert 24 hours a day, ready to respond and defend in the event of aggression,' Mr Hun Sen said in a Facebook post. He also told authorities in provinces near the border be prepared to evacuate residents to safer areas. Cambodian and Thai officials will meet in Phnom Penh on June 14 to discuss the border dispute. The disputed region has seen sporadic violence since 2008, resulting in at least 28 deaths. The row dates back to the drawing of the 800km frontier, largely done during the French occupation of Indochina. Mr Hun Manet announced earlier in June that Cambodia would file a complaint with the International Court of Justice (ICJ) over four disputed border areas, including the site of the latest clash. The ICJ ruled in 2013 that a disputed area next to Preah Vihear temple belonged to Cambodia, but Thailand says it does not accept the ICJ's jurisdiction. On June 8, armies from both countries agreed to reposition their soldiers in the site of the latest clash to avoid confrontations. Thailand has closed some border crossings and tightened border controls with Cambodia in recent days. AFP Join ST's Telegram channel and get the latest breaking news delivered to you.

Man, 39, accused of housebreaking jumps bail, arrest warrant issued, Singapore News
A Chinese national facing charges for breaking into a private residence and stealing over $570,000 worth of jewellery has jumped bail. An arrest warrant has been issued to Long Zhihua, 39, after he failed to turn up for a pre-trial conference on May 23. In response to AsiaOne's queries, the Singapore Courts said that Long has been uncontactable since April 5, four days after he was granted bail. Long, a member of a housebreaking syndicate, had broken into a home on Windsor Park Road on June 21, 2024, with his accomplice, Luo Changchang, 44. They were arrested five days after the heist, before they had planned to fly back to China on June 29. Several stolen items were found in their hotel room in Geylang, but the victim, a 53-year-old woman, still suffered a loss as more than $390,000 in jewellery remains missing. According to court documents, Long and Luo initially pleaded guilty last December and were awaiting sentencing, but retracted their plea, prompting the court to schedule a pre-trial conference. Long, who had been granted bail, failed to show up in court on April 25. He did turn not turn up to the rescheduled pre-trial conference on May 23, which led to the arrest warrant being issued. Meanwhile, Luo has remained in remand since his arrest. His case is scheduled to be be heard again on July 25. Offenders convicted of housebreaking can be jailed up to 10 years, and fined.
