Laxman condemns Revanth's comments on Operation Sindoor
Hyderabad: BJP Rajya Sabha member and OBC Morcha National President Dr K Laxman strongly condemned the comments made by Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy regarding Operation Sindoor.
On Friday, Dr Laxman stated that Revanth Reddy had claimed that the Rafale fighter jets of India were destroyed by Pakistan, and had asked how many Rafale fighter jets were lost.
The BJP MP said that it was inappropriate to speak disparagingly about the Indian Army. He emphasised that such comments undermine the morale of the country's defence forces and tarnish the nation's honour. Laxman also criticised Congress leaders for channelling their anger against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP towards the Indian Army and the nation.
Dr Laxman urged both the public and political leaders to take note of these comments and respond accordingly. He demanded the Congress leaders to explain their stance that favours Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu BJP co-incharge, criticized Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's remarks regarding Operation Sindoor. He stated that Reddy and other Congress leaders are consistently making negative comments about national security for their political advantage. 'It is outrageous that Congress is making such comments when an all-party MP delegation is abroad showcasing the success of Operation Sindoor and the atrocities of Pakistan. Congress should apologise immediately,' he said.

'Not a single drone reached its target,' Times of India quoted an Indian Air Force officer as saying. The Akashteer air defense system, developed indigenously by the state-owned Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL), is hailed by many experts as India's answer to the Israel's famous Iron Dome, but the Indian system is considered better suited for low-altitude drone warfare compared to the Israeli AD. The indigenously-built air defense (AD) system has achieved seamless integration with the Russian-made S-400 Triumf– India's long-range missile defense system– radars, and weapons systems. The Akash air defense system is capable of automatic detection of aerial threats, and intercepting them in real time. 'Akashteer did not roar or flash, it simply calculated, executed and destroyed. Quiet precision was its loudest weapon,' according to a military official. As per defense sources, more than 400 Turkish drones were shot down by Akash AD, and their wreckage now litters the areas near the Line of Control (LoC). End of Erdogan's drone power ambitions? The catastrophic failure of Turkish drones, especially the much-touted Bayraktar TB2, is a major setback to the ambitions of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of making Turkey a global player in arms exports. 'Erdogan can sell anything – religion, weapons or dreams – to enrich his family. But the product is junk now. Baykar stopped innovating the moment it felt safe under government backing,' according to Michael Rubin of the American Enterprise Institute. Reports claim the mass decimation of Turkey's drones by India during Operation Sindoor has put Ankara's drone deals across the globe, from Africa to the Middle East, in jeopardy, and even Pakistan is allegedly mulling to cancel future orders. Pakistan had fired the Turkish drones in hopes of breaching India's air defenses, but IAF's integrated systems, including L70 guns and Akashteer radars, ensured the UAVs never even got close. PL-15 wreckage now India's geopolitical prize Meanwhile, the spectacular burnout of China's PL-15 air-to-air missile, which crash landed intact inside Indian territory, was a shocking outcome for China as the missile is one of the most advanced in Beijing's arsenal. Now, India is proudly flaunting the PL-15 wreckage as a sort of geopolitical prize, even as world powers, including the United States, France, United Kingdom, Japan, Taiwan and Australia, have reportedly lined to study the tech used by the Chinese missile, especially its dual motor. According to sources, India might have already handed the missile wreckage to to Japan for analysis.

BJP marks Bhopal's 1949 merger, seeks memorials to freedom heroes
Bhopal: The BJP city unit on Sunday marked the anniversary of Bhopal state's merger with independent India on June 1, 1949 by paying tribute to the forgotten heroes who led the struggle to free the city from the rule of the nawab. The event, held at Bhopal Gate and Jumerati post office, saw Bhopal MP Alok Sharma hoisting the tricolour and releasing balloons to mark the beginning of the programme. Portraits of the merger movement's leaders were garlanded, and their stories of resistance, sacrifice and perseverance were recalled. Speakers at the event said the warriors' persistent struggle despite atrocities by police of Bhopal nawab did bear the fruits but it took almost 2 years more for Bhopal to see the light of freedom. The freedom fighters, who hoisted the tricolour at the post office in Jumerati, were also arrested. He suggested that Bhopal's saga for freedom should be taught in schools separately and he would talk to the school education minister in this regard. He further asked Bhopal mayor Malti Rai, who was also present at the function, to pass a resolution in the BMC general council for installation of late Ratan Kumar's statue at Jumerati post office. BJP MP Sharma said a museum focusing on the merger movement of Bhopal should be established, so that the new generation of Bhopal knows about the struggle of their ancestors to get freedom. He also referred to women freedom fighters like Mohini Devi and Champa Charu and said women of Bhopal also contributed a lot in the merger movement. DMK launched ‘Oraniyil Tamil Nadu' enrolment drive
Madurai: Gearing up for the 2026 assembly elections, DMK president and chief minister M K Stalin launched an enrolment drive titled 'Oraniyil Tamil Nadu' at the party's general council meeting held at Uthangudi on Sunday. Unveiling the campaign, Stalin urged party cadres to enrol at least 30% of voters in each polling booth as DMK members through a massive door-to-door outreach. "The welfare schemes of the Dravidian-model govt have reached every household. At least one beneficiary lives in each home. That trust must now translate into political unity. We must ensure DMK's presence in every street, every house," Stalin told the cadres. Reading out a special resolution announcing the drive, Stalin instructed the functionaries to achieve their membership enrolment targets in two months. Earlier, the general council passed 27 other resolutions, many of them criticising the BJP for Waqf Act, Hindi imposition and delimitation. DMK also hit out at BJP for allegedly undermining Tamil heritage by rejecting the findings of the Keeladi excavations.
