Saturn will burn in Aries from May 24th until September 1, 2025, when the planet will retrograde back into Pisces for a few months before returning to the cardinal fires of the ram from February 14, 2026, through April 13, 2028.
Last time Saturn was in Aries
Saturn is named for the Roman god of time, agriculture and renewal — oft depicted with an errant party tit out of his toga and a sickle in his hand.
This tool is apt when we consider the function of the planet in our lives and the perennial message that we reap what we sow and are only as strong as our ability to serve, sever and sacrifice.
Once thought to be the last planet in the solar system — Saturn is known as a malefic and is associated with endings, limits, tough love and hard lessons.

It takes between 27 and 30 years for Saturn to travel through the zodiac.
Saturn hasn't been in the home hellfires of Aries since 1996. The planet is said to be in its fall in this cardinal fire sign — meaning its power is slightly compromised.
Saturn is uncomfortable in the sign of Aries as the hot-blooded ID of the zodiac wants 'now, fast and more' — and Saturn is about the long game, not the quick hit.

Aries is impulse and Saturn is restraint, meaning that recklessness will come with a heavier tax during this transit. It's about purposeful action, strategy over reaction.
As a Mars-ruled sign — Aries is about conflict and Saturn represents the systematic. In this way, this transit is the art (Saturn) of war (Aries).

While we'll all be under the influence of Saturn in Aries, some folks will feel the effects more acutely.
The brilliant astrologer Evan Nathaniel Grim of Inner Worlds Astrology shares that because this transit transpires in a cardinal sign, those with significant placements in the early degrees of the cardinal signs will be hit the hardest and given the greatest opportunities to step up and grow up.

As the sun is synonymous with leadership and our essential selfhood, Grim explains that those with a sun sign that falls in one of these four cardinal signs will be up to bat for leveling up.
'If you have your sun in Cancer, Libra, Aries or Capricorn, greater expectations will be placed upon you by the outside world — and this will necessitate that you solidify your goals and ambitions. You will ideally learn to express yourself in a way that attracts the responsibilities that help you manifest your dream life,' said Grim.
Moon in Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn

As the moon represents caretaking, the ties that bind and the homes that hold — Grim imparts that those with Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn moons may have their energy redirected to roots and stakes.
'You won't be able to evade major responsibilities within your family, and some of you might have to take care of an aging family member. You'll also adopt a more serious demeanor, and some might move to a longer-term home.'
Mercury in Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn
8 Mercury rules both mental processing and verbal expression.

Mercury is our messenger planet of cognition and expression — and Grim predicts that those with cardinal Mercury signs will experience a deepening of focus and a kiss-off approach to frivolity.

'You might not feel like conversing with people as often. Instead, you'll probably focus on your studies, professional matters, or a notable writing project. You're looking to sharpen your skills and to more clearly define your ideas.'

8 Named for the goddess of love, Venus colors attraction and attachment, assets and aesthetics.

Venus is our planet of love and unification. When Saturn sets up shop in Aries, Grim assures those with Venus in the cardinal signs will suffer no fools and be keen to get serious or seriously independent.

'You will seek long-term stability in your relationships and you won't be interested in anything casual. Some of you, instead, could become extremely cautious about starting relationships,' he said.
'Ultimately, though, this is what I would consider the engagement, marriage or divorce transit — depending on the situation you find yourself in.'
Mars in Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn

In astrology, Mars is our luminary of conflict and clashes, action, and initiation. Grim encourages those with Mars in any of the cardinal signs to cool their proverbial t–ts while Saturn is in Aries.

'You will be practicing patience because any fits of rage or angry outbursts will be met with judgment and heavy scrutiny. You're being called to discipline yourself to be less unhinged and to wait a bit longer for those moments of release.'
Saturn return in Aries
8 The Saturn return exists to humble you and to teach you the value of everything in your life — everything you have built thus far.

If you were born with Saturn in Aries in your birth chart, you're on the cusp of your Saturn return — meaning when the great malefic returns to the same sign and degree it was when you were born, heralding a time of trial and triumph.
A Saturn return is an initiation that takes us deeper into adulthood, marking the lifelong process of growing up and growing closer to our essential selves. We experience a Saturn return between the ages of 27 to 31, 56 to 60 and 84 to 90.
As Grim shared, 'This is a once-in-29-year event where you will be asked to make firm commitments in a range of life areas, including relationships, career, family, home, health, etc. The stakes are extremely high because whatever path you set for yourself will define your next 29 years.'
If you were born between 1996 and 1998, you will experience your first Saturn return during this transit. Gird your loins and look to the light, my babies.

Your horoscope for the week ending 24th August is asking for careful decision making
Dreams can come true this week, so be careful what you wish for! Mercury in Leo harmonises with Mars in Libra on 18th August, making us more aware of our emotions. It's important to be mindful of tonality because it can create issues that affect dynamics. The Sun enters Virgo on 22nd August, allowing us to be concise and deliberate in our actions. The following day, the Black Moon in Virgo (the third New Moon in a season of four New Moons) brings power and energy to our visions. This is a potent time to manifest and assert our hopes and goals for the future into the universe. At times, you can be loud and boastful. However, in the days ahead, you are swapping your bravado and attitude for a more refined state of being. This means substituting mindfulness for drama and contemplation for impulsivity. Staying in your lane will be difficult, but you will relish the quietness. Focusing on one task is the way to ensure you finish everything on your to-do list. With your mind running fast, you shouldn't take on more than you can handle. Be aware of your limits and try not to overextend yourself. Once you take on matters, you'll be energetically lighter. Hustling all day is exhausting, especially when the volume of assignments is piling up. To be real, you need to escape the noise and bustle of life. Consider visiting your family or a place no one will find you to decompress from social media and madness at the office. Being thirsty for a response from your crush or ex doesn't win them over. To get the attention and affection you're craving, leave them on read to make a statement. The less you respond, the more of a splash you'll make. They won't like it when you flip the narrative. Even though you're putting your best foot forward to push down the jealousy you're feeling, it isn't easy. No rebrand can keep your emotions from being seen — the only way to deal with your sentiments is to admit them to yourself and others. Honesty is always the best policy. With your solar return in gear, planning your birthday celebration will be fun. The only foreseeable issue stems from the invitation list of both naughty and nice people. Perhaps a mixture of each attendee will make for a wonderfully spicy and decadent party. You just have to pick a theme. You're always down for a good time, but you must set a curfew and get beauty rest because work requires you to give 100% of your energy. Keep it cute at happy hour with one or two 'tinis. Save the hard shots for the weekend when you can sleep in. Plotting the end of summer bash for your family and crew isn't going as swimmingly as you'd think. You're wanting a big soirée and everyone prefers a low-key vibe. You can have haute cuisine in bathing suits if you choose — you're the one making the rules, so go for it! Issues at the office are spilling into your personal life. The reason being is that you're overstating stories and information from both parts of your worlds. Maintaining boundaries between them is vital to ensure you don't have to yap or fill in the blanks about the aspects of these entities. Being independent doesn't mean having to be tough 24/7 when you're sad. If you're needing comfort, call up a close friend and have a sleepover (like you did in junior high school). Share secrets, order a pizza, and watch old rom coms. Time with your BFF will boost your spirits. As much as you want to, it isn't your job to rationalise other people's actions. Rather than justifying their feelings, own yours. You don't need anyone gaslighting you and making you question the facts of a situation. Never let anyone dim your light or mess with your peace of mind. There has been a lack of consistency in your ship. The cosmos are urging you to step up and express your sentiments. If you have anything that needs to get off your chest about the direction of your partnership, speak up. It will form a healthier connection between you both.

Pope Leo XIV celebrates Mass for local homeless people, invites them to lunch at summer villa
CASTEL GANDOLFO, Italy — Pope Leo XIV spent the last Sunday of his summer vacation with several dozen refugees, homeless and poor people and the church volunteers who help them, celebrating a special Mass for them and inviting them into the Vatican's lakeside estate for a lunch of lasagna and roast veal. Pope Leo XIV: What to know about Chicago-born Robert PrevostLeo celebrated Mass in the St. Mary sanctuary of Albano, near the papal summer retreat in Castel Gandolfo, where he is vacationing. The Mass was attended by around 110 people cared for by the local Caritas church charity, and the volunteers who run the diocese's shelters, clinics and social service offices. In his homily, Leo celebrated the 'fire of charity' that had brought them together. 'And I encourage you not to distinguish between those who assist and those who are assisted, between those who seem to give and those who seem to receive, between those who appear poor and those who feel they have something to offer in terms of time, skills, and help,' he said. In the church, he said, everyone is poor and precious, and all share the same dignity. Leo, the former Robert Prevost, spent most of his adult life working with the poor people of Peru, first as an Augustinian missionary and then as bishop. Former parishioners and church workers say he greatly reinforced the work of the local Caritas charity, opening soup kitchens and shelters for migrants and rallying funds to build oxygen plants during the COVID-19 pandemic. Later Sunday, Leo presided over a luncheon with the guests, who included Rosabal Leon, a Peruvian refugee who has been in Italy for a few months, along with her husband and two children. Leo's other companion was an 85-year-old Roman, Gabriella Oliveiro, who lives on her own, organizers said. The luncheon was held at the Borgo Laudato Si', the Vatican's environmental educational center in the gardens of the papal villa in Castel Gandolfo. The center is named for Pope Francis' 2015 landmark environmental encyclical, Laudato Si (Praised Be). Local caterers provided a menu of lasagna, eggplant parmesan and roast veal. For dessert, the menu called for fruit salad and sweets named for the pope, 'Dolce Leone.' Greeting the pope and his guests, who were seated along two long tables under a veranda, Albano Bishop Vincenzo Viva said their coming together to break bread followed the teaching of Christ. Today's church, he said, should be 'by the side of the most vulnerable, the weakest, the young and those who are wounded by the circumstances of life and history.'
